Again, the term "Game killer" is a stupid one concocted by the media to sell magazines and get site hits. Don't fall for the BS.
Sorry, but the Japanese PS3 install base says otherwise. Expect this title to pull a Bioshock.
Knowing you, I'd have to say yes, you would be. Metroid Prime 3 was pure bliss and everyone should play it. So was Mario Galaxy. But aside from a few gems... nothing gripping IMHO.
I commend Nintendo for expanding the market and bringing in more gamers. Sadly, at the same time, their choice in focus has ostracized me, a long time Nintendo fan and follower, due to their lack of titles aimed for gamers like me. Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy was not enough to prevent me from selling the system this summer, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't regret it. Maybe some day they can win me back with quality software in abundance, but for now, I'm not looking back....
Sadly I have to agree. And that's not a knock on the 360, as most fanboys will take it. Square's latest efforts have frankly just sucked. I anxiously await the release of this title (rather, the eventual port, if Square is to be believed) and I pray its a good one, since I enjoy this series immensely.
Haha, that reminds me of a statement made by my professor back in the day, about how statistics and numbers can be used and twisted to prove any point you want to make on the matter. :-)
*sigh*
Speculation.
Man, I should become a game "journalist." Making up stories based on one or two assumptions and out of context quotes is way easy.
This just in - The Uncharted Gears of Mario Universe coming to the Nintendo Playbox 720 in 2015! GOTY CONFIRMED!
I have to agree with Butterfinger here. The chart is SELECTIVE information, something ALL companies do. They don't lie, and they get their point across. For instance, I see MS leveraging Netflix all the time... which does nothing for the act of gaming, or for me. Do I think it's a bad PR move to bring it up? Of course not, since OTHER people might be enticed by that value.
But still, its a PR move that many, many companies use, so I don't get why it's news now? Is it because Sony...
Why do none of these "articles" ever seem to bring up the incredible uphill battle and many, MANY obstacles digital distribution needs to overcome to be the "main form of media?"
DD will be a nice ALTERNATIVE for a while, nothing more. And I still don't get why people WANT a format to fail, when Dark Knight is oh so good.
Sillyness, but something MS does as well at every possible turn.
I think PR has done downhill over the generations, and doesn't give consumers the benefit of the doubt on intelligence. I mean, no smart gamer falls for PR lines, do they?
If you care more about stats than the games themselves, and the fun of the hobby, I feel bad for you. Well not really, cuz I'm having fun!
The usual suspects like Gamesradar will nitpick this game to hell and back. It's already begun.
If MP is really as addictive as people say, well, I'm QUITE happy.
*sigh* This would be amusing if it was a Jasper board. But as it stands, this isn't really news.
Gotta love the constant BS retaliation articles around here. I now expect 40 more "Is the PS3 doomed?" articles in "retaliation."
Oh well, back to Ico.
For me, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, and CoD4 would have to be added. If we are doing PC as well, then Quake 3 Team Arena and UT2004 as well.
Yeah. Go back and play some PS2 and Xbox FPSs, 10 hours is above average actually. I think people are just turned off at the $60 price tag compared to the $50 personally. Hell, I beat Halo 3 in under 5.5 hours. Doesn't mean it's a bad game, it's just become par for the course.
10 hours for an adventure or RPG game is something I'd raise an eyebrow at. But not an FPS.
Game length is not directly proportional to disc size. Never has been.
Once society gets over itself....
The nitpicking continues. I can smell the fear and desperation.
Why anyone would WANT to hate on ANY game is beyond me, especially those part of the "professional media."
Professional media... hah.
Bronco, that's the problem though. Not everyone has ACCESS to companies with better DL speeds and no limits. Often times Comcast and Time Warner have monopolies in whole counties. DD just has way too many obstacles in its way right now. Picture and sound quality, special features, storage, fees, DL rates, DL caps, and most of all people's desire to have a tangible product they OWN, not RENT.
Alot needs to change for people to embrace DD as the PRIMARY method of entertainment. But...
Oh Oh Oh! I want to be cool and a rebel like Agent VX. May I spin it too mommy?
Oh wow look, none of the Xbox 360's so called "AAA" releases could surpass the iddy biddy Wii's titles. That's pretty pathetic, considering sales are all that matter. Gears couldn't outscore MGS4, and it couldn't outsell poor wittle Mario. I guess Gears 2 and Fable 2, both glitchfests, are total bombs, and every big selling 360 title could be found on the PS3. Talk about a sinking ship, so l...
