Regardless of if YOU agree with it or not Sense, it's an uncalled for, petty, and fanboyish statement, period.
I'm speaking in general. Sites will pick on one game for something, and ignore it for another, even in the same genre. Killzone is getting flack for doing nothing new, yet we have RE5 being praised for being MORE RE4... it's hypocritical and inconsistent. And yes, while Halo 3 did have good graphics artistically, it also had bland textures here and there, sub HD-resolutions, and iffy character models, etc.
So, why did many places give it a 10 for graphics? Why wasn't it picked ap...
HaloChamp, we SHOULD be critical of games, but in a constructive way. There's a difference between that however, and nitpicking/being bitter. Also, a little consistency would be nice in said criticism. For instance, nitpicking KZ2's lack of coop, but not weighing it against CoD4. Or the subpar (but still artistically strong) visuals of Halo 3, which were entirely ignored by most outlets.
Consistency is all I want. Sadly, the anti-PS3 bias still exists. X-Play's crap comments just...
Review sites are about PROFIT. They are a business like any other. Of course they will milk it for all the clicks they can. *sigh*

If you think Hollywood picked up Gears for its story, I have to chuckle. It's being directed by Len Wiseman... the guy who ruined Die Hard and did those crappy Underworld films. Not exactly high cinema. Gears the movie will be a subpar summer movie experience, rated PG-13 so they can get as many kiddies in the seats as possible.

It sucks because I love Kotaku's review system, how it's done, but I can't help but feel their opinions are just as biased, hypocritical, and double standard based as any other sites.

I found CoD WaW to be such a sad step back from CoD4, but it was praised by reviewers. RE5 looks to continue that trend, despite doing nothing new.
Sadly, it seems like brand name recognition will ALWAYS win out over actually lookin at the content of the title in question.

I'm curious as to why someone without a PS3 feels the need to comment in a PS3 story? Some people are indeed heavily disappointed in RE5 for being nothing more than RE4, especially after the awesome Dead Space did the controls better. You slam on people for being excited for Killzone, a game that is reviewing well and has had positive feedback. Granted, KZ2 has nothing to do with RE5, but to mock people for being excited is rather pathetic.

Could be their choice of development style. I don't know how they structured their games, but since their cinematics are realtime unlike say Uncharted, which can mask loading areas, one guess of mine would be not putting strain on the optical drive by CONSTANTLY accessing it and cutting down on load times due to a crapload of audio.
Eastern and Western development styles are pretty different from my light experience with it.

100% broken. I've harped on this issue plenty, as you all know. Scores need to die, more open discuss needs to rise, and we need to judge games on their own merits, not based on what console they are from.
