it certainly creeped me the F**** out. I've never experienced such discomfort and chills like this demo gave me. perfectly nuanced, creepy weird, puzzling. it may just be a demo but it was certainly a VERY well made demo.
@majin:
Driveclub did when it says it was a Forza killer. Forza is a sim.
DC and PCars aren't the same. DC is an arcade racer. PCars is a proper sim with all the things that go with a sim including proper wheel support (with clutch etc) tuning, real laser scanned tracks etc... something gear heads can actually get into. DC looks pretty and is basically a beginner level racer in comparison... like everything is preset and stays that way. meh.
DC's weather looks a little better but PCars will be a way better racer.
stupid. and a waste of a perfectly good limited edition ps4.
Everybody is comparing the graphics to drive club and missing the far bigger picture. this game is going to smoke drive club. its actually a proper racer. no playskool simplicity. it has way better physics (i even see tire temp icons at the lower right). it has way more cars. it has actual real tracks, it has extensive tuning, extensive customizing, it will have superior wheel support (with clutch etc) AND it has weather. who cares if the water on the windshield looks better in DC. I d...
Yes please.
It's the weird (subpar) physics that I keep complaining about and everyone disagrees with me on because it's a ps4 exclusive with good graphics. It's my biggest gripe with the game. If they would change the physics to balance more realism but still be playable to a majority of people (fh2 does this really well as it still feels realistic but not as demanding as forza 5 or gt6) then I personally would think this game would go from ok to good.
It's like glue wh...
i agree with you, with the caveat that the games aren't really free. they're free while you pay for a subscription to play them. still, i too don't understand how offering perks for a service has anything to do with network stability. its like saying you'd rather wear a seatbelt instead of getting a free ride in a car that is already trying to offer safety features. wait... does that make sense? take me drunk, i'm home.
nice one on first light.
the sounds are definitely something DC got right. I will certainly give credit where its due. My only wish is that studios would take it to the level Codemasters did. In Grid and Dirt you could hear squeaks, rattles, clanking etc in addition to the engine sounds... although the engine sounds are way better in DC.
after yours that is ;)
this makes their *yawn* tweet funnier. Now they have something to deal with, that should take the boredom out of things. Self-centered, self-righteous pricks. who do they think they are? "i think its funny and or entertaining or cute to entertain myself by screwing others out of goods/services/money. they don't even have some noble cause. just worthless bs.
between fh2 and sso for me.
Just because I don't fall head over heels in love with the game because I look at it realistically and objectively tcompared to other games available and that I own doesn't make me a troll. If my opinions are different than yours it's because we see things differentl or have different priorities about what to expect from a racing game. Racing is my favorite genre. I love it. I race, go to races and read about racing in real life too. I don't hate driveclub, I just don't th...
"thanks to a striking balance between arcade and simulation in vehicle handling; winning a race in Driveclub is never easy, even while playing against the AI"
You mean mostly arcade.... And it is easy. Too easy. And the damage system is lacking, the ai is lacking. The tuning is nonexistent, the customizing is a matter of choosing a few presets. The graphics are great, the weather is a great addition and rumor has it the AI will be adjusted (to me I do see it rubberb...
Feels like halo to me but updated. Sure it borrows some similarities to the more recently designed COD but almost all FPS games do. I mean was every FPS game after Wolfenstein, Doom or Quake all criticized for having a similar feel? To me that's th definition of a genre. And gameplay mechanics follow classic Darwinism. The original halo was ground breaking for a console FPS. Twin stick movement, triggers, all that. But as more games followed suit and the design got refined, certain gamepl...
i think its a matter of perspective. I have a ps4 and I have games on it, but theres not really much that I personally have been dying to play. Some of those great games I played last gen (TLOU, GTA, Tomb Raider etc) so I don't think its fair to count them completely. Infamous was good but not go nuts amazing. DriveClub... meh. Decent but not amazing. Ton's of indies which are fine but not really my thing most of the time. The rest of the high scoring games are multiplatform so i...
and thats its biggest problem. attempting to "kill" the big boys while being a need for speed or project gotham. technically the entire physics model of it is all assists... too much. its completely unrealistic which is why i don't like it that much. it was supposed to straddle the line of arcade/sim but its more 80% arcade, IMO. I don't completely hate it but it's certainly not a Forza killer... or a Gran Turismo killer. Maybe a NFS killer. I'd like it to be mor...
i don't see much between SSO and AC but i sure did enjoy SSO. it certainly worked at launch too. perfectly.
