Why does everything have to be so black and white? Sure graphics and horsepower matter. But to the core of what video gaming is, state of the art graphics aren't necessary so much as they are an enhancement. Everyone cares about graphics. But we all care to different extents.
I wonder if after the Japanese release we'll find that Pokemon Black/White has 3D'ish features that can be unlocked on the 3DS, not unlike the Yellow version a while back for Gameboy that gave us a yellow Pikachu, and a few minor colors. The game structure appears to be set up for the possibility.
No Elder Scrolls V or The Last Story? Come on... There probably aren't any RPG's coming out this year more anticipated than those two. Diablo III will probably be further delayed as well. It doesn't even have a definitive release date yet.
I know that I will love this game, and am buying it day 1. But the fact that the primary control is motion centered, without even the option of buttons only will alienate a lot of people. Whether or not that should be the case is irrelevant since it is reality. For that reason, I doubt that it will be the 'Year of Zelda' in most people's eyes.
Vesperia should have released on both 360 and PS3 outside of Japan. How did they expect it to do well on the 360 alone, when it's not necessarily an RPG lovers console? And don't get me started on Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. That game was EXTREMELY average, and went cheap on the one thing that would have helped it sell well. The characters that everyone actually wanted to see and play with... Sometimes I just can't understand what the hell Namco Bandai is thinking. ...
You are right, I do want to play Dead Space 2. Even so, for the most part, EA is hurting gaming imo, regardless of the fact that I may like a few of their games. Damn it. Why'd you have to remind me that I want to play DS2? :p
They'll probably finally showcase Pikmin 3 this coming E3, and release it by next holiday season. It appears that it's been finished for a while, they've just been waiting for the right time to release it. 2011 looks to be a year filled with some excellent games, but fewer of them than recent times, so they may have waited until just the right time.
If we're lucky, they'll destroy each other. F EA, Activision/Blizzard, and every game they make as far as I'm concerned. They're an ugly problem within the gaming world in their current incarnations.
It's a play on his name, Goichi, meetajhu. Go is the number 5 and Ichi is 1 in Japanese. Suda, his surname goes first. So the name we know him by is just a play off of his real name.
It's true that this game was 'hard' but most of that difficulty was the result of its unpredictability the first time through levels. Playing through levels again a second time and most of them are nowhere near as hard. Even the 'tap, hold and release the A button' rocket levels, which are about as 'Old school hard' as you see these days aren't as hard once the unpredictability is no longer a factor.
There were alot of great games this year. But there were a couple that we can truly say might be 'the gems of this generation'. GoW3 was much moreso than ME2 imo. That being said, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is definitely in that class, only not quite as important to gaming for the long term as GoW2. The original definitely. But 2 was literally a positive and minor tweaking of it.
Yeah, they are definitely filling a void by doing what others refuse to. I'm glad that they're listening to concerns and making adjustments.
That might be cool Seferoth. But after all of the smack Reggie talked about 3D with glasses, it would be kind of hypocritical of Nintendo to bust out an outright helmet. XD
I doubt he'll be in there, but it would be pretty bad ass if Sentry were. Maybe as a boss?
I just wish we knew for sure how much we need to save for this thing.
If graphics matter that much then such a Zelda gamer couldn't enjoy A link to the past. Due to that, they fail as a Zelda gamer. Graphics matter, but nowhere near as much as gameplay. Great games can be made with limited colors and pixels. People have become spoiled by state of the art visual experiences, which are a great thing, but should have very little bearing on whether or not a game is good.
I agree with most of this, except that I feel that Wii Speak was doomed to fail from the start regardless of how they marketed it because the 'Conference call' configuration just isn't the voice chat experience that people wanted.
I also disagree with the DVD playback point. Everyone already has a DVD player. Not to mention that if people did use their Wii to play videos, it would shorten the length of the console's life due to a use that the company, and many...
'That game would be awesome if it were on my console of choice' are embarrassing. Graphics aren't everything. Resolution isn't everything. But even so, if you can't bring yourself to say that Epic Mickey is a good looking game, you have problems. Just buy it for Wii. You know you either have one, or want one anyway...
such as today's it plays greatly to the developers advantage. Why should a developer work harder and take proper time to make the PS3 version of a game equal to the 360 version (or vice versa) when there's already a culture in place where PS3 owners have to try and outdo 360 owners (or vice versa) through sales regardless of a game's quality or lack thereof? Why should they bother when even when they put out inferior product, whichever side has the inferior version will defend the...
Yeah, but what the interviewer really wanted to know is why Nintendo doesn't feel the need to release a new upgraded Wii console when their competitors are releasing new state of the art upgrades and add ons. He did give a valid answer in that they are counting on software sales at this point to pick up the slack. But the truth is that they aren't making as much as they were before due to the decline in console sales and not all - but many people are waiting on the next piece of hardw...
