I think that if this game doesn't sell well, we'll have a few years with no Metroid, then Retro will get back on it, and take it to the next level again.
Otherwise it will only be fun to the kiddies for a few weeks...
I was leaning against getting this one. Now I'm leaning toward getting it. That first ten minutes drew me in well.
It takes the time consuming breeding aspect, and ads hours and hours more of it. Not to mention that more often than not you finally get acceptable IV's, but the nature is crap. I think they need to streamline the natures through breeding a little better honestly...
Forget the last sentence though. Whenever they make the Pokemon MMORPG, it will be a hundred times bigger than Everquest ever was, and likely uproot WoW as king of the genre.

completely makes the Dpad obsolete I think. It will be fine and all but people who love shooters would have been more attracted to this if it had dual analog. Me personally it doesn't matter. I can't wait for this thing. Nintendo is torturing us! It feels really good to be this excited about a piece of hardware again though.

Repetitive battles? Just because battles may not be 'random' in an WRPG doesn't mean they aren't just as repetitive. You have to grind in an WRPG just as much as a JRPG. Whether it be classic grinding, the taking on of the myriad number of otherwise meaningless sidequests (Complete with more 'repetitive battles'), etc.
You're going to wait until the second iteration, maybe a year or two after launch? You have more will power than I do my friend.
I will buy the 3DS day one. I have probably never been so excited for a piece of gaming hardware as I am for this. Also, I love the RTS genre, so I hope what he's working on is good. Not really my priority though on this handheld. Kid Icarus and Ocarina of Time 3D day one please. :D
I feel that changing the Bow and arrow control from pointing to this Wii sports resort style is an unfortunate mistake.

A few friends and I get together and play the hell out of this game. I don't enjoy the online though. Lag makes things too unpredictable. And while I understand the reasoning, I can't enjoy the '0 items, 5 stock, no time limit' thing for very long. It gets boring quickly. Smash Bros isn't that kind of serious for me.

I beat it on Normal, and while I can't yet imagine how I'll manage it, I plan to beat it on hard sometime in the near future. That game is difficult, and fun. Not to mention that it appears to be a nice warm up before Kid Icarus is released on the 3DS.
And F Activision. One of these days people will realize they're buying the same god damned game every year and giving their money to some of the most arrogant assholes in the business... It'll be a great day.
I was already sort of lamenting the fact that there's pretty much no way he's started the next Smash bros yet. Now he's pretty much saying he doesn't want to make 2D games anymore... I NEEDS mah semi-regular Sakurai developed Smash Bros fix... :(
would Sony drop the PSP name after the brand has sold more than 50 million units? You don't just start your name from scratch in your second generation of product, after being successful and gaining name recognition in the first. This sounds extremely fake to me...
