Lloyd Irving and/or Yuri Lowell ftw! Hell it's Smash Bros. How about Genis Sage? I'd love to see Meteor Storm as his Final Smash.

Please h311rais3r, consider these things. Do you really think that 99% of developers are going to use the extra power of a 'PS4' and 'Xbox720' for those things and inflate already overly expensive development costs? Do you really think that Sony and MS are going to release new consoles that are heads and tails more powerful than the Wii U even though their current systems tax developers when it comes to cost and difficulty to program for? No.

Like you see on ...

'Which means no new Call of Duty'

Right... Since CoD has been pushing the graphics envelope... Oh wait, no, they've been shamelessly and unapologetically putting out the same 'Just enough detail, just enough resolution' graphics since 2007.

As opposed to what? Sony's Smash Bros knock off with the majority of characters being less than a decade old?

Not digging in to nostalgia is really the only option.

See what I did there? Just enjoy what you enjoy and refrain from the crap talking please...

This isn't even live feed, it's a camera taking footage from screen and the game still looks very clear and crisp. Looks amazing for a launch game and the concept and gameplay are great. Ubisoft might finally make up for how they wronged us with the original Red Steel with this game. If the price is right for the Wii U, then I'm getting it, and this game at launch. Don't F it up Nintendo!

Re-release Melee on the 3DS with a solid online matching system and that will tide us over for a while just fine.

Agreed. Even so, a grossly underpowered system has an element of burden on both 3rd party developers, and the gamers who want to play their games. I own all 3 consoles this generation. I would love to only buy 2 next time around, but be able to play just about everything.

I hadn't seen the ninja star game before. It was cool. Though I think I'd like it better if it was more like the ninja star demo they showed last year with the more realistic environment. Ah well.

This console is kind of strange for me. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it, I just don't know when. As of now, definitely not at launch. It's just not worth it unless they keep following the Wii formula and offer it for $250 at launch. Then I'm buying i...

If a 'hardcore' Nintendo gamer buys a competitor console, but only because they want the 1st party exclusives for that console, then it means that Nintendo has done the Wii U right. So far they act as though this will be the case, but I remain skeptical that the Wii U will receive the bulk of multiplatform games on time, and with comparable visuals, online modes and incentives.

So yes, it's difficult to define 'hardcore' but what I just described above is ...

For certain there are elements of copying, but you'd think that Nintendo would have learned a key lesson from this: The PS3 and Xbox 360 were powerful, adaptable, and malleable enough for these tack-ons to be possible.

The Wii U, being a little bit more powerful possibly than those two will have some adaptability, but nothing near to the extent that the other two companies' new consoles will. We're already seeing the realistic limits of what and how things can be...

True. But the shareholders speak rather loudly as well, and they aren't pleased. I'm a huge Nintendo fan/supporter, and as far as I'm concerned, Nintendo dropped the ball.

They took a day 1 purchase for me and seriously put it in doubt by having the top release be a game that was originally intended to come out on Wii, A zombie game (does look intriguing but yeah, it's another Zombie game), more Mario games (fine, but I'm definitely not chomping at the bi...

Less so than an Xbox controller, this thing looks like a fusion of the PS3 and Xbox controller, and I don't just mean the parallel thumbsticks. Also, the shoulder triggers seem to have a hint of Game Cube to them. I think I'll like it.

That would be nice. I'd prefer to play it with the Wii U controller actually.

Nice review. I REALLY wanted to play this game 2 years ago. It's annoying as hell that we've been reduced to begging for games then MAYBE receiving them years down the line. However, this one just seems to be too good to pass up, even after the wait and the Wii U on the horizon.

Not a bad write-up. Most, if not all of that is definitely possible. I hope it goes very similar to this. Great job.

Side scrolling games where your attention is mostly on the front layer are best looking imo, while Nintendo set a good standard for how to use 3D effectively with Super Mario 3D Land. Personally, I'd love to see a game like Muramasa ported to the 3DS so that the 6 and 7 layers of background can receive even more depth.

I agree that the system is flawed, and everyone is spending beyond their means. But it is the system we have and we're all bound to it either directly or indirectly. We either point fingers and wait for an inevitable crash, or we do our best to do our part. For average every day folk that means, saving some, spending what you can to help the economy, and having as realistically upbeat an attitude as possible.

Gotta love it how Sony and Microsoft gaming strategies make profit maybe 2 years out of every 4.5, yet Nintendo makes their first loss (while having literally billions in reserve), and it's somehow 'Game over'. None of these companies are going down any time soon. The idiots wishing for one to fall need to get a life.

That's pretty bad ass. Lucky kid.

I think Nintendo will follow the Xbox 360 idea of multiple sku/pricing, which Sony also used at PS3 launch. I think there will be several prices/benefits to choose from $299-$399+ or so. The $299 console will be able to play any game and come with a thorough set of demos/hide and seek Mii/pack in games, but it will come with bare minimum memory and online privileges. The $399+ one will come with a significant memory option, a 'must have' game, full Nintendo Online privileges, and poss...
