I hope there is no play limit or anything because if not I will be mastering any characters in that demo til the game comes out. Hope they do the same for wii u.

lol no that is not sad. It is sad that you require the most iconic game character in history to break away from what makes him special to satisfy your own maturity complex. Not to mention there was no "mature tone" in Mario 64. You are a prime example of the reason why Miyamoto is making these statements. I suppose you don't watch Pixar movies either. Honestly nobody says you have to love the games, but disregarding a creative experience because you think you are too mature for ...

You are definitely correct, though in my specific case I realize more and more that the majority of my library that I enjoy are made up from first party games and exclusives across the Wii U, PS4, X1, and PC. They all pretty much for a balanced ecosystem in my home where all have games I like and (especially this fall) all will get equal playing time (with some fluctuation caused by games like MCC and Smash)

Lol you are right I only have a bachelor's and not a masters yet, but their is a reason why Pachter is not an analyst whose quotes you bring up when you want any legitimate research to be done. I would much rather hear from an analyst that doesn't rely on controversial statements to bring weight to their claims.

Off all the things to write about for Smash you chose this? In an industry where there are more gun-toting characters than not, why is this even a topic? No to mention that it doesn't matter if you use a sword, a gun, or your fists, it won't change the ass whoopin I will deliver in this game ; p

Funny you mention 3rd party making millions yet complain about sequels when the 3rd party games making the most money are sequels...not to mention I'm sure you did a great job predicting the 3 new Ip's nintendo announced this E3. It is irrelevant though as by your comment it is clear you came to just insult and not be informed about your topic.

Was with you until you mentioned smash. It is very likely that in addition to Pac-Man, Mega Man, Little mac, wii fit trainer, and Sonic it is likely that the roster will include the freakin DUCK HUNT DOG. I find it hard to believe you even ask for more to represent a Nintendo's history when there is even a possibility that Duck Hunt Dog could be in smash. I mean in this roster alone the dream match-up of Mario vs. Sonic vs. Pac-Man vs. Mega man can happen. This roster is the best and most...

I think people come to quick conclusions (as usual) after reading the title, but this is a good article. The author talks about how because of all the studios that closed over the last few years, 3rd parties don't take risks which anymore for the most part which slows innovation. He is saying Nintendo's fall could lead to a breakthrough from them, or even that we could see it come from a company like Valve. I agree that there is a lot of stagnation in the industry, and that E3 and gam...

Lol well if the games were spaced out and had a more recognizable characters that have been around for decades then they wouldn't be getting screamed at. They would in fact be making more money. Even though they are doing fine without them, don't pretend that Micro or Sony wouldn't kill for characters as recognizable as Nintendo characters. Not to mention Nintendo announced a few new IP's recently, one which is probably the most original take on the FPS/TPS genre I have seen s...

Aren't they pretty much all skins with the only differentiating factors being weight and kart customization? If there is more to them than that, then that probably explains why I don't do so well online. Or I'm just not good lol.

This is not for me, but I applaud Sony trying to give more options in ways to play games outside of the standard controller and just prettier graphics. I just hope that we keep getting more forward thinking options so that we have other cool ways to play alongside VR in the future.

Well I'm planning on getting it because I want to play it. I support this though because if people want to talk smack about things Nintendo does wrong that is fine, but making it possible for me to enjoy a Bayonetta sequel that otherwise would not exist is not a wrongdoing on Nintendo's part.

1) No they aren't incapable. They are actually only limited by creativity in the types of different games they could make.

2) If you have paid any attention into the way Nintendo runs over the past 3 decades, you would know that they prefer controlling their media. At some points to an alarming degree. Don't label it as close-minded because they are responsible for some of the best creativity this industry has seen. But they MUCH prefer to control that creativity. Jus...

The people who think that Nintendo games would be the same if they went 3rd party are pretty clueless. Nintendo is not gonna produce the same quality on hardware that is not built for their software. You would see games that are a shell of their current counterparts that would eventually fade into obscurity. Not to mention that Nintendo has been around the longest so you can't just assume that Nintendo workers who have a legacy of personal pride would even stick around to make games after...

so you are saying a wii u should cost less than an Nvidia shield...there is no financial backing to a statement like that.

Hello LOL! You have struck my curiosity once again with you comment below. I would like to know how you define a hardcore gamer and a hardcore game? I'm sure there is a lot to learn from your response.

4180d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The author actually makes a solid point in the fact that wii u is usually one of at least 2 gaming options typically owned today. Too bad the article is peppered with pointless terminology like "hardcore games/gamer" which doesn't really mean anything.

What would ubi put on the virtual console anyway? The only classic ubi game I would want on VC is Prince of Persia from Gamecube, and if we are getting gamecube games I would want several before that. Either way it has been clear for a while now that 3rd party are not gonna help Nintendo. That whole 3rd party model has been unstable for them anyway (though mostly due to their actions). They need to take this opportunity to change the way gaming business is done for them because they don't...

The fact that there are ports of games that run better on the wii u than their PS3/360 counterparts while still being available on PS4/X1 is proof that there is a reason to look at 3rd parties outside of Nintendo's hardware choices. Though I completely agree with you that Nintendo should be more open with realizing trends in hardware.

The guy brought up a good point saying that Zombie U outsold just dance on wii u by a large margin so claiming it is related to mature/hardcore titles doesn't have any ground. Also I personally have purchased every Ubisoft title that has been released for wii u (except just dance) and each one has had a number of problems. It is a pretty irrelevant discussion overall though because it has been clear for a while that Nintendo needs to find a solution to get more games that is more stable t...
