Arguably if Nintendo wasn't cutting their focus between handheld and console games, and pushed harder for indies, then Nintendo could match the pace of releases of the other two consoles, a larger percentage of which would be exclusive to Nintendo. At that point it wouldn't be a matter of quantity of releases like it is now. Only problem would be the popularity of certain 3rd party games that gamers want wouldn't be on Nintendo platforms, but that is happening now too anyways.
I heard there is an online mode just not co-op. Also lol at the people who come out just to complain who had no plans of playing this game anyway. Nintendo should also realize that they should go all in on online whenever they can. At least they will have online in the only place that really matters to me, Smash.
I think the wrong question is being asked. I think the better question is does Nintendo want more games to come to their console, for which the obvious answer would be yes. An odd concept for me is that why does that NEED to come from 3rd party?

Not really. If you listen to either company talk about each other (especially Yoshida) you would know that they are more about coexistence because they each bring something different to the table.
most of them already were...the majority of console gamers owned at least 2 platforms last gen with the primary combinations being a wii and either 360 or PS3. In reality they are pulling from each others install base and not really the wii's all that much.

Well even if you compare exclusives for the first 3 or 6 months of each console's lifetime the wii u still has the highest rated exclusives so though the author should not have compared a year's worth of time with wii u to half that basically for the other two.
First of all that is called branding. Nintendo did plenty to create characters that became internationally known and recognizable to this day. It takes a ton of work (and the right timing) for that to happen. So there is nothing "free" and them being able to make that happen, and Sony and Microsoft would kill for a character with that kind of recognition. Second, when games like Pikmin came out they still had great review scores even with no prior recognition to fall back on.
Good thing they just announced 2 new IP's this E3. I understand if those IPs are not to your taste and for you to not care their games anymore, but no point complaining about something without the right information. Your complaint should just be that you don't care for their games because they have plenty coming out that is outside the typical nintendo lore.
In my opinion the only things that are inspired and worth my time coming from Ubisoft are games that use UbiArt. Child of Light was wonderful and games like that are the things that I buy on wii u. Nothing else from their conference really has me interested just because I am burnt out on Assasin's Creed, and I never got big into Far Cry or Rainbow Six. If they do a good Prince of Persia then that may be the ticket, but for now I probably won't be playing much Ubisoft on any of my syst...
I think it would be pretty awesome if it were a new Viewtiful Joe for one thing. I really like that series and it fits well with wii u. This is cool news for them though if true and I hope they keep it up.
