Nintendo has said time and time again that they don't try to be in competition with them. So neither party see's is at competition, but because they are in the same market his point is invalid. Just because you don't think it is meaningful, doesn't change the economics behind competition, and the result would be bad for gamers. Basic economics buddy.
There already is a surprising amount of support from them on the Wii U eshop. Obviously the Ouya will be the preferred choice, but the Wii U will still get some support. Much more than the PS4 will.
The Wii U isn't hard to develop for. It will be a great place for indie developers, which doesn't matter for a lot of people (hence the word indie) but has value still. To say they are polar opposites is extreme but I am glad they are different. I don't want two PS4's I want something unique since I rarely get that with Sony (not saying never, just rarely). Sony isn't making the same mistakes as Wii U. They will however make different ones so let's not act like they ar...
Whichever ones you want... I will get all of them
I don't know why you keep trying to separate the two. The gamepad and the wii u are not meant to be universally portable. That is what the 3DS is for. The only thing Nintendo really needs to do for mobility is strengthen the signal so you can play the gamepad anywhere in your house. As far as smartphones are concerned the gamepad has buttons so that automatically gives it an advantage, but honestly the two are meant for different things so it doesn't matter. As for the vita it also ha...
Actually you can use competition as excuse. Less competition is never good for the consumer.
I may have misunderstood your last sentence but it seems like you are saying Sony should be the only console maker. If that is what you're saying that is the worst thing that could happen for gamers. The consumer benefits from competition. That is basic economics.
Not his fault Mario outsells his other work by more than twice the amount. Pikmin is one of the most original concepts and games he (or possibly anyone) has ever created but it gets overshadowed by other IPs. I hope the same doesn't happen to the new IP he said he is working on, but it most likely will.
I agree. Especially since they basically had a moveset with the Edo Kages, The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, and Ginkaku and Kinkaku and they still aren't playable for the multiplayer mode so unless there is some way to unlock them that I don't know about that is just laziness. (or just too much pressure to get a new game out every year when I would rather wait a little longer and get more out of it)
I have a different article that says 49% of households have gaming console and they averaged at least 2 consoles. Also looking that link from the article it looks like it is saying 17% play on one type of device (console,pc, mobile) rather than specifying if they actually play on one console. So agree to disagree on that based on data.

Not the same interest as you equals brainwash?
Sorry but the Wii U is not overpriced, the cost of the console just isn't in what you value. The gamepad has a bit of cost which is why it is at 300-350. Nintendo could have invested in better hardware and no gamepad, but the gamecube taught them that there is no real value in that (even though I loved that system). So that is why they at least try to do things differently. I personally see the value in the gamepad for asymmetrical gameplay and some possible two screen uses that have a to...
It will live on with the Wii U. Def no console better with asymmetrical gameplay.
I'm gonna need every doctor to stop what they are doing and help his arm! jk of course but I do hope he doesn't overdo it. Health is more important than getting this game out.
^^ This! having those individual communities could really be a great way to connect to other players and set up tourneys. Having a decent online to work with should really add to the game.
I'm also really excited for the way they are working with both a 3ds version and a Wii U version. creating those different experiences are going to show an incredibly unique way to play smash bros.
Cool! So you know what new games are being worked on by miyamoto and retro? Please tell me since you can already list the games coming out! Nevermind the fact that I haven't used a TV remote in weeks because the Wii U is so easily integrated with my tv and online services. It seems to me like you ride on Nintendo in an attempt to make Sony look better, and I guarantee you they need no help in that area. I will be enjoying what both Sony and Nintendo have to offer, but then again I am a ga...
And I must say usually the comments I see from you are respectful or valid. There are plenty of people who can afford it who come on here and spew hatred. That is the important difference.
I don't know I do see value in the gamepad and clearly sony does too (not saying they stole the idea just saying that they wouldn't have put it on if there wasnt something to it). Games like watchdogs have components that look like they would have amazing gamepad implementations so there is definite value there. That doesnt mean that the PS4 wont still be amazing though so the way I see it we all win.
Sounds like you should research your purchases more. I'm still enjoy my Wii U. My controller doesn't creak, and is probably one of the more durable controllers I have ever owned (able to handle my roommate's rage quits pretty well), and the off TV play for all my games is a wonder in a house with multiple people. I am all for more games as well, but I also knew what I was getting into...
