Hmm why can't I update to this supposed new firmware? Says I have the latest...
This loss is just the sad combo of price cuts with exchange rates. You know you get 2 games, a Wiimote, a WMP, AND a nunchuk with a $199.99 Wii now, in the US? Contrast that with $249.99 with just a Wiimote and one game, last year. Nintendo's hardware profits have likely turned into a near standstill, due to their competitive pricing -- the same setup included in the $199.99 bundle, last year, would have cost well over $300.
And yeah, like the article states, 3rd party...
I would actually say its the next step... on the same path that Virtual Boy was going down.
So.. any online patches to Reach will be done by the new group, eh? That sounds a little worrisome.
Wait... since when is Tegra anything more than a rumor?
Umm.. are you arguing for UMD as a handheld game format? Or that PSP2 games should cost a ton, because the carts would have to be so huge?
By Andrew Galbraith! Some of the titles he listed are pretty stellar games (like Supreme Commander). He probably never actually played them.
Reminds me of his articles on how superior the 360 is to the PS3, where he forgets about lots of PSN services, and then yammers on about how the 360 is cheaper than the PS3, better exclusives, has more games, etc.
Looking at the eyes in the picture, it's pretty clear that the MS and Nintendo fanboys actually required some sort of illuminated brain/eye implants for their fanboy initiation, whereas the Sony fanboy is possibly just wearing a contact lens.
I think it may be safe to declare this the funniest nonsense of the week, and its only Monday!
2-3 million honestly doesn't even seem like that many. Isn't XBL Gold at 10 million subscribers, or so?
I have PSN+. Totally worth it thusfar.
I think its more about removing the option to sit, than it is about requiring sitting?
Here's the real issue that hurts games (it's not swapping):
2-3 DVDs cost more to produce than 1 Blu-Ray disc. Publishers make more money by producing Blu-Ray games, than multi-disc DVD games -- so they push their developers to fit the game onto a SINGLE disc. That hurts the game. A lot. Thank MS for downgrading many of the multiplats, heck even their own exclusives, this gen.
Both shots appear to be have taken in 480p. I guess the PS3 does AA, deep color, has bigger textures, etc., whereas the Wii does not. Kinda obvious.
It's interesting to note, however, how much better looking a game can get simply by using more texture memory, and fancier rendering techniques, outside of raising resolution -- even cel shaded ones.
That's an excellent point. Somehow the flashes caused the skeletal detection to flake out on one, but not the other? That seems awful strange.
My theory is that they are actually simply standing too close to each other. I think Kinect might need a lot of space for two people to play at once.
Wait.. sure camera flashes emit IR light... but.. the IR reflections off their skin and background are causing the issue?
Wouldn't that also be an issue if there was, for example, a heater nearby, or daylight reflected in the room you play in, or just all sorts of lighting conditions in general? Are people with light-colored couches going to have more problems than people with dark couches?
Only because the 360 crowd doesn't care about Kinect?
I own em all. PS3 is my fav, but I have to own a Wii for the Mario/Zelda/Metroid/etc. Nintendo will keep delivering these kinds of exclusives, so... the Wii has a permanent place in my livingroom, even if it doesn't get turned on all that much.
My 360 I have actually pondering selling lately, but honestly its just not worth enough to bother selling. I bought it years ago for the JRPG exclusives, and for Gears. MS needs some new goodness, since I'm not really that ...
Wow Great idea?
Um... how do you move forward and turn and stuff while still staying in front of your TV, though?
So... in order to be great, a game must innovate in some way the user finds blatantly palpable? Uncharted 2 probably innovated in tons of ways technologically to look, and play, as good as it did. Because this isn't directly perceived, like gameplay innovations are, doesn't stop it from being innovative.
On top of that, if user-palpable innovation was what really drove greatness in any industry, we'd never respect things like orchestral performances, plays, grea...
Zir0,
Articles are posted where they are likely to get hits. People are excited about the Move, and they like comparisons with other devices for that reason.
