My favorite part about Kinect is that it's best placed exactly where the Wii sensor bar sits. You're gonna have trouble using both without a lot of tape.

Also, perhaps even more humorous, is that accessories like the nunchuk or Nav controller seem to be primarily used in gaming experiences (single player -- so you only need one accessory, as well) that Kinect *can't even provide*. Making MS's inclusion of those accessories, in their price comparisons, extra ...

They left the good stuff out of other Halo titles?

It only failed due to price.

And adding a 2nd analog, without also updating the hardware, is stupid -- what PSP game would release needing two analogs, when there are 60 million PSPs out there with only one, and any game that could use one retroactively would have to be patched (which would eat up the 16GB internal storage REAL fast)?

There may be a 2nd analog in the PSP 2. Sony would be stupid to bother adding one to the PSP 1, because it would go unused.

@Lirankn: ...and then you can only use one shoulder button, and your hand is in the way of part of the screen.

I have a 60GB launch PS3, with a 320GB HDD. No issues here.

Nintendo should price it as high as possible for the first 3 months, then drop the price to something less obnoxious. Sure, sure, people will be upset. Oh well.

I guess Blu-Ray players are also not for families.

Seriously who buys a PS3 without considering that its one of the world's best Blu-Ray players? If you already are getting the PS3 for games and Blu-Ray... then adding Move isn't much of a stretch, whereas adding an entire new console (a Wii, or a Kinect 360), is.. especially considering that the other consoles are ONLY for gaming, unless you actually don't own a DVD player yet (which only applies to the 360), or ...

There are NOT 2 million PS3s on the shelves in the middle of summer.

Even though VGC numbers are sold, and Sony's numbers are shipped, there's still a HUGE disparity.

The attach rates in the US go a long way to support your claim, ninja.

Multiplat sales should have a 10:5 ratio in favor of the 360... but instead its more like 10:7. The 360 re-buys might go a long way to explain that discrepancy.

So... DSi costs $40 more than DSLite, and DSi XL costs $20 more than DSi... 3DS costs $40 more than DSi, at $210? $40 more than DSi XL at $230 maybe?

I'm trying to understand what "kind of fits within that (DS) price structure" is supposed to mean, given the $60 range on DS models currently out. I'm assuming "kind of fits" means it expands the structure, but not by an outrageous amount. Presumably that means the most it would cost would be abou...

VGChartz has a whacked bias toward the Wii, if you ever read their news stories.

A sales site should be able to see trends and history without fanboyism... but they are usually unable to do so. They also seem to choose forum moderators who have a severe Wii bias, and work night and day to make sure nothing bad is said about the Wii on their boards.

I can understand wow'ing Nintendo for their Wii and DS sales figures, but now that those consoles are on th...

Wow I hope they don't waste their time with that. What would those games be without the MP component anyway? I'm sure Sony won't want to keep those buggy games running forever -- would be foolhardy to try and replicate the glitchy MP code.

If they rewrite the MP code, and make the game HD... wouldn't that just be SOCOM 4 with maps from S1 and S2?

Diablo's most reknowned Rogue-like ancestor, NetHack, is the greatest re-playable computer game of all time... the only one that even comes close is Civilization.

I think it'd be foolish to choose a game other than those two -- I can't even think of many games that come close to having that kind of replay value -- which is a big deal when you're alone on a desert island... lemme tell ya! ;)

Ask yourself this:

Why does Sony make and sell console hardware at a loss, when they could just be making games for a console someone else makes and sells at a loss?

5793d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah, I think it's in Activision's best interest to not have much competition when that game releases, given Treyarch's track record. You can believe they spent enough on it that they're going to need every sale to recoup their costs.

...and GT5? That game will destroy every other racing game in existance, no matter when its released. NFS is the one that should be holding off -- its their choice to commit suicide by launching so close to GT5. Sony has a ma...

Sony plays nice with its 3rd party support, guys. It's in Sony's best interest to place their own titles away from big 3rd party releases that might be impacted by the competition. Sony makes license money from every PS3 copy of CoD and MoH sold, and they also want their own titles to do well, sans competition.

If anything, this is probably a sign that SOCOM 4 is good enough to have raised warning flags amongst the 3rd parties, and they probably asked Sony to move i...

Player numbers have actually started rising a bit recently, possibly due to the new features and game modes... not sure.

The upcoming clan wars and three-team game modes and maps may bump the player count even more.

I would be more than happy to see a not-3D PSP 2. I hope Ninty doesn't require devs to support 3D, too -- that extra GPU fillrate muscle could be used for better purposes in 2D, IMO.

Waste of money and processing power to support 3D, as far as I'm concerned. Games are better without having to support such things, which no one will ever use on a portable, due to the jostling on a bus, and eye strain. Its a neat gimmick in a controlled environment, but I'll just ...
