Hoo boy, are some people gonna be upset when they send their money away to "buy" one of these babies.
With the losses Nintendo posted last quarter, and all the stuff they are bundling in these days (2 games, Controller, WMPlus, nunchuk), there is NO WAY they are chopping the price to $149 anytime soon.
Think about it. What happens if you sell 10 million consoles for $50 less each than you would have previously. You lose HALF A BILLION dollars, is what.
10 million consoles is not unreasonable with a price that low, and the Wii's previous popularity. The...
The 3DS is far from being competition for the PSP. More like a breath of fresh air. The PSP could survive for *years* as the crossplat partner of the 3DS -- heck, its in Sony's best interest to keep it in production, even if they have a PSP2 out, because crossplat development always caters to the lesser of similar platforms (see: X360 vs PS3).
Heck the 3DS even added a single analog stick to take advantage of its specs being so close to the PSP. If you don't think ...
So... the PS3 boots from USB now? Seems like kinda a risky feature on a console, doesn't it?
Also, why does the TV appear to change input channels while they are running their "backup" app? And the PS3 reboots awful quickly?
How about they show us the other PS3 too? You know, the one with Infamous in it. Also, maybe the videos could actually show the game being played?
Fake. In the other video, his "backup" app is actually running on a PC hooked up to the same TV -- he takes the video at an odd angle so the TV input switch away from the XMB isn't so blatant, and he never shows us the PS3 after the first part -- because he swaps discs in it, while the PC app is onscreen.
This is actually a pretty bad fake, IMO. I'm surprised its gone this far. Well, maybe not. I guess that "ND going multiplatform" news got hot...
If the 7800 GTX is "way older than your time"... wow you must be like 14 years old, tops?
No offense, but most 14 year olds don't know what a thread warp is, or even what a fragment shader is, and thus probably couldn't understand the difference between the RSX and a more recent GPU design, let alone understand the benefits of a Cell processor for gaming needs.
@DeadCell
Sorry bro, if you think the KP5 (or the ATAC) is bad... you simply suck with it. No offense, but it sounds like you need to work on your SMG skillz.
@Ddurand...
Have you *played* MW2 and BF:BC2 online, and seen how bad the graphics are compared to single player? MAG *does* look better.
Get yourself some YouTube and do some side by side comparisons, rather than watching canned single-player gameplay trailers, puffing some herbs, and pretending those games look that good online.
This is a great article.
I find it very encouraging to know that US soldiers respect their enemies as human beings, and understand the awful nature of war -- and give it, meaning the other humans involved in it, the human aspect it needs to eventually *end*, and the greater goal of *saving* lives to be served.
I think that video games are coming along, showing "the enemy" as being human too, with families and dreams of their own, and their own goals...
@Milo...
How could there be aim assist on, while using the Move? You think they're gonna move the reticle without you moving the controller?
Have you ever considered that aiming with the Move is simply *easy to do*?
Putting ME 1 on the disc would not only up the value of the series on the PS3, it would make the purchase worth a full $60, despite being a year later than the 360 version.
That said, I don't think it needs it to be successful. It would just help.
I like the depth-of-field effect while in cover.
Strange that the guy is using a SMG to fight at long ranges. You'd think he'd switch to the assault rifle he clearly has slung on his back. Maybe he likes it, because its modelled after a German-made weapon (it looks like a HK MP5), and the player is German? =)
Populations are up as of late, actually. You'll have to wait a couple mins to get into a big match, but its not bad, and the big games are lengthy and worth the couple mins wait. Sabotage still just takes a few secs to get into, it seems.
Since the Domination (256-player) map rebalancing, Domination is very very close matches, for all factions, in my experience. Every Dom game since 1.07, that I've been in, has been intense right down to the finishline, and that...
MS is so awesome. They add just the right amount of humor to my N4G every day.
This post made me lol. I almost +bubbled it for "funny", except I had to consider that the poster might be serious.
Good stuff, greenisgood. =)
I will take all three, day 1. Thanks.
Tales of Destiny as well, please.
Launch titles often take a good 4 years to make -- they start on PC, and then make the transition to the new hardware, once its ready. The next generation's titles will have titanic budgets and development times, as well -- particularly the launch titles, if they want to show off the hardware and sell it.
2013 at the earliest for the PS4 -- more likely 2014, and that's assuming that there are actually teams starting on PS4 games, like the article suggests. It also a...
I think the Move just makes the PS3 see d-pad presses as your wave it around.
That would explain the music player behavior -- that's what would happen if you pressed the d-pad a bunch. It's also what happens when you navigate the XMB, etc.
I don't think the Move was intended as a potential replacement for all PS3 controller functionality.
He's using the Move before the final firmware for it is even out. For all we know, there could be lots of other Move options in the release firmware, which I'll bet Sony will update shortly before the Move releases at retail.
I wouldn't expect too much extra stuff, however. Remember the OS on the PS3 is absolutely minimal, as far as memory footprint goes, to make more available for games. I doubt they'll have too many cool pointer-style features available f...
Yep. I'm curious as to whether or not Sony will even care enough to say something to protect would-be pirates from buying this. Sony's response will be more interesting than the rumor itself.
