I'll buy Kinect when there's a game I want which is best played with it.

Move has already met those requirements.

Man, you sound like you've never played the game.

The sound and gameplay are amazing. The graphics are great, given what's going on. There are 18 maps, and most of them are many times the size of the typical shooter map -- making them that many times the content, since they take that much longer to learn, and you start in a different area in each match.

Reading internet posts by 360 bots doesn't equate to actually having tried the game.

Classic maps would make for good DLC, IMO. I'd rather get fresh maps in the game, and if I want to revisit classic maps (they can't be *exactly* the same, because the game isn't), it should be optional.

I agree. Kinect can only detect 2 active skeletons, but 6 faces total. Thus, only two ACTIVE players at once. The rest are just faces -- identified by the system, and nothing more. That's the crowd, not the players.

I think people have an honest hatred of disinformation, whether it be lies or merely uninformed, which many Sony-bashing articles are composed of... like this one, which doesn't bother to consider streaming technology as a part of a HD gaming experience.

For reference, see: most console media articles from 2007.

You'll find that 360 fans will vehemently disagree with anyone who claims that the Xenos is inferior to the RSX, as well -- and rightfully so...

Actually, given the Rage engine's ability to stream in vast amounts of texture data, I'd say that "Blu-Ray powered" HD actually will look better than "DVD powered" HD, once that kind of tech becomes commonplace.

If Rage was exclusive, they might even use 6x the texture data, but being multiplat, they probably won't bother.

So.. its the truth after all, isn't it? The potential for higher-grade HD graphics can, indeed, come ...

A bigger HDD costs them like $3. Dropping the price costs them exactly how much they drop the price. Pretty big difference.

I think Pachter is correct this time around...

I also think a price drop on the 360 S is entirely possible, once September hits. I'm guessing we could see them drop to $270 or so.

I'm actually considering getting this year's Tiger Woods game, thanks to the new Move support. Golf usually doesn't inspire me, because playing with a standard controller sucks (IMO), and the Wii version was too... uh.. SD. I may actually pick this up, since the Move may actually make virtual golfing fun for me.

Too bad I already own a 360. I would definately pick this up if I didn't.

All revenue... um yeah.

Are you confusing revenue with profit? =)

Um wow. Awesome. That should balance out the game types considerably.

As I stated above, the attach rates for the 360 don't seem to have budged this past month, which is odd, considering the surge in X360 HW sales.

Either they are re-buys, or the used market is really picking up on the 360.

Actually... despite the rise in X360 HW, the software attach rates for the X360 haven't hardly budged this month.

So... yeah, it does kinda seem like X360 owners are re-buying X360 S models or something. Kinda seems like the new 360 owners aren't interested in software... which is pretty odd.

Or.. they all bought used. Possible I suppose. Only the thrifty would wait this long to get a 360 or PS3, IMO.

Yeah, WW numbers are too balanced to be the source of fanboy-wars. That isn't news. ;)

Stealth platformers? Hard to describe... but dang awesome games. You can definitely see the roots of Infamous in these titles, as well. Their theme is not as serious, but the platforming will be very familiar to anyone who has played Infamous.

near 10% of PS2 owners bought an EyeToy?

Wow. If 3.5M PS3 owners (10%) already have a PSEye, the Move might take off quicker than I expected!

If you listen to the interview, Dr. Marks actually doesn't say anything about Kinect. He says that processing power is needed for image analysis, and that the PS3 CPU is well-suited to doing image analysis. He doesn't actually say anything about Kinect at all, but does mention that developers won't want to use much CPU power for the motion control tech, which is true.

Its the interviewer that implies that the X360 won't have the muscle neccessary -- and then...

It's debatable whether Nintendo and Sony/MS even compete in the same market.

The only way Nintendo could garner enough 3rd party horsepower to contend with Sony and MS in the HD hardcore market, would be to release a console that was so similar to the PS3 and 360, as to make crossplatform development cheap for 3rd parties. Since it would be crossplatform, it wouldn't stop Sony or MS at all.

If Nintendo released a substantially different architecture,...

Not UMD games. Every UMD drive will be busted beyond repair, and I doubt there will be a UMD drive add-on for future handhelds or consoles.

Cart games tend to die as well, although I suspect DS carts and DSes will last a little longer than UMD drives will... although the DS touchscreens may be mostly destroyed by then.

If the game isn't on a backwards-compatible optical disc format, like CD, DVD, BD, then you should buy a digital license, if you want to ...
