Because Street Fighter II. This article really doesn't go into the reasons why, but being in one of the most iconic videogames that had a huge hand in shaping an entire genre for decades to come probably helped. One's the main character of the franchise and the quintessential martial artist archetype, and the other is the first playable female character in fighting games.

Fortunately it's not the only option gamers anywhere in the world have to access video games, and I hope it stays that way.

An ideal future would be one where companies like EA and any others throwing their full support behind a subscription-based future go bankrupt and we never have to hear them spouting their BS again.

There are still outstanding characters from previous rosters who haven’t made it into this game. But yeah, the Tekken staff are essentially holding them hostage and I don’t like that. Of course they’re wasting a slot on yet another new character. They had better use those other two slots for other existing characters.

There are technically more female supporting characters in Doom 3 by virtue of there being way more characters. Doom 1 and 2 had a better female character though. RIP Daisy Bunny.

I haven’t mustered up the courage to power through its copious amounts of plot, escort missions that prove pointless and the fact that classic Doom was changed into a corridor shooter. Thankfully Doom 1 and 2 continued to exist.

Oh, and as far as horror goes, how is Doom 3 that scary? Try playing something from this decade.

I think a timeline order playthrough is best suited for those who have already played through the series in release order. I would not recommend it for new fans. It actually sounds like a neat idea though.

You can actually access the proper versions of Metal Gear 1 and 2 if you have MGS3 in some form on your device, and those are the canon games. I would recommend playing those first, yes, although MGS1 isn’t a bad jumping on point either. However, the NES games are an interesting curiosity, for sure.

Unfortunately, fighting games are perfect for DLC as characters, stages and modes are all things that could be added that way. Companies have noticed this and see dollar signs. It could be worse though. Look at what Capcom did before DLC.

Tekken 7 in particular pisses me off not because of DLC, but because of how it’s been handled. The team behind it added a whopping 12 new characters (three times more than the most the usually add), and in exchange kicked a bunch of ...

Streaming is a type of subscription service, so maybe the author forgot to consider that while all streaming services are subscription services, not all subscription services are streaming services.

I will say I don’t want a future where all games are tied to non-streaming subscription services either. The option to own games and be able to access them anytime regardless of whether you’re paying for a service or even have your internet connected should always exist.

I sure have a more than big enough backlog for such a gamepocalypse. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but I’ll hold out just fine for years to come if gaming goes down a path I refuse to support, such as streaming-only. In the meantime I’ll also vote with my wallet to hopefully stave off such a future.

I love BB Hood!

That will show Sony. /s I don't think this game is even made by Sony, so first of all, WTF? Second of all, why don't protesters who destroy products like that understand that if you give a company money first, they're not going to care what you do with the thing that you purchased and is essentially your property?

On the plus side that’s a better choice for regular gaming anyways. Joycons are best saved for multiplayer, and even then you need enough people to mandate using those tiny Joycons. Well, that of if two Joycons is all you own controller-wise.

I especially miss Tokyo Jungle. I wish I could play it on my PS4. But no, we get Life of Black Tiger instead. Yay.

The people who don’t buy this will benefit by saving money.

Thanks for making games that prove companies don't need to put MTs in games to break even. Also, thanks for making games that are great and people want to play, thus proving that great games sell.
