A little presumptuous. The possibility exists, sure, I'll concede that, and it's not like MS IPs have been in the running for GotY very often. So...if someone wants to rally behind this, sure, why not? I won't rain on their parade.
Great games sell and we have proof right here.
You should get a PS4. It’s a solid system with a great library of exclusives.
Seems like it, but to all the naysayers I say, so what? If visual novels can be a thing, so can this. Games with stories are essentially interactive storytelling anyways. The beauty of this medium is there are many different ways to approach the interactive aspect. Of course the more a game focuses on its narrative the more important it is for that narrative to be solid. Nonsensical stories can be swept under the rug if a title is pretty much all about the gameplay, but not so much if th...
I think it's simply plateauing. Indie games picked up popularity around the start of the current gen, and the indie game scene practically exploded. Games with smaller budgets that are often simpler, but also cheaper and just as fun as full AAA releases really resonated with a wider audience, especially since many AAA companies at the time weren't putting nearly as much creativity into their games out of fear of losing profits. Supporting small games by small studios was a novel id...
Because Insomniac makes great games and what company wouldn't want such a studio in their arsenal? Also, Sony and Insomniac have a history together, so they may as well make it official and tie the knot.
Sony has always tilted towards games with wider appeal. It's why no one can compete with them.
PlayStation has never been defined by power. Sony has released powerful consoles in the past and will likely continue to do so in the future, but their focus has always been on games, and as far as I'm concerned that's how it should be.
While it's true that what is essentially a business rivalry like any other that has been heavily sensationalized, Xbox has a real uphill battle if it wants to get anywhere near where PlayStation is at in terms of popularity and sales. So, Phil proclaiming peace comes across more as a way to save face than anything else, especially given his history of trash talk.
Not what I would have gone with, but everyone's entitled to a favourite...even if it doesn't line up with popular opinion.
I forgot Sony didn't own them. Well, I guess they do now.
It’s Persona. I’ll make the time. Those other games can wait their turn.
Regardless, I doubt the media will blow up as much about this as when Sony skips an event.
Yay! I mean, I've been curious about the first game since the second came out here. Also, looks like my wallet will be bleeding even more. I picked a great time to go back to school...
A good launch lineup and no DRM fiasco should do it. They might want to hope their system isn't more expensive than Sony's at launch either.
Makes sense. I mean, that would be a costly deal from the company's standpoint. Good thing we know how to spot a new model vs an old model Switch in the wild.
@DillyDilly There are obviously demos and game footage. Also, these aren’t the GotY awards so much as the “games these people are most excited for” awards. The point is to promote the most intriguing games that aren’t out yet but people should take notice of. The contenders are all games that are either not out yet or just released.
The time to worry was when EA acquired them. Now they’ve done what they do with every studio they buy and sucked the life out of them. Bioware exists in name but they’re really just a part of EA at this point.
People leaving that dumpster fire of a company is good news for the industry as a whole anyways. It’s not studios that make good games, but the people who work for them. Now some of these individuals are free to work for someone else or form their own studio, an...
WTF?
If it's not this, it's Switch owners begging for Persona 5: Royal. I'll be happily enjoying both games when they come out while openly mocking those who badly want to play PS4 exclusives without investing in a PS4.
