Honestly? I'm not expecting a big difference in the fundamental design of either controller. There may be some minor changes but I doubt we will see anything to the extent of the shift from the Dualshock 3 to the Dualshock 4.

Well, back when that was a thing, 3D games were a relatively recent development or at least the proliferation of them was. Neither console manufacturers nor the consumer had an established notion of how a controller should be designed to accommodate that fundamental shift. Sony just happened to stumble upon a better design choice. But, for many the N64 was their first foray into 3D games and that's the controller they were accustomed to at the time. Looking back, controllers have only...

And people wonder why no one wants MS to buy studios. If they actually used them beyond maybe creating a compelling launch lineup for a new system, people wouldn't fret so much and would also be more inclined to buy an Xbox. Maybe with all the talk things will change but I'll believe it when I see it.

It's still weird that online activation is a thing that's required. The original Doom and Doom II never required that.

Some people from Europe and with European roots, and who love FIFA live in NA. Not being able to sell that series here, or at the very least, having to disable MTs in those games in this region, would put a serious dent in the potential revenue EA exploits through this shady method.

Except physical Magic cards have resale value (mostly minute but it’s still there), and you don’t have to pay to play the game. You just need the cards. Even with the digital game, you aren’t paying $60 just to be able to play it. Also, genre wise, selling physical or digital cards makes way more sense than that kind of transaction in a FPS or in this case, a soccer game.

People are opposed to loot boxes because they’re already paying to play EA games and they’re shoved ...

Thank you captain obvious. Now, will you actually do that work that needs to be done, or just talk about it?

That's a big reason why I never got into game reviewing myself. Even so, few games manage to trigger that sense of child-like wonder in me. The few that do get perfect 10s from me, but they're rare.

One day, probably. I don't think we will see it anytime soon, but I'm ok with settling for games that just look really good in the meantime.

@zero_jp Wow, your English is impressive. If only my Japanese studies went even a quarter as well as your English studies clearly have.

We are a little bit different culturally in that we don't just automatically support something because it's from here. We tend to look at other factors and decide what products are best for us based on what we're looking for.

Are you sure Sony and Nintendo don't also have a greater foothold in Japan bec...

I suppose that's true. I'm not entertaining the idea of Google's PoS being anywhere but last place though and hope I'm not proven wrong. Also, if the next Xbox can't outsell that thing, that will also not bode well for the future of the brand. MS has already taken steps to build themselves an out if they should ever feel that the traditional Xbox consoles aren't doing well enough from a financial standpoint. Losing out to a device that will require crazy bandwidth ...

It will be part of it, yes, but please stop treating everything Xbox does as singlehandedly defining a market they're in third place in. Of course what they do can have an impact, but they're only a part of an industry that includes Sony and Nintendo. At the very least the Scarlett will do better than Google's Stadia, so there's that.

@Hardiman Holy...I'm just imagining that T-Rex in the same engine they used for REmake 2.

Retro gaming, especially the kind of retro that company is going for, won't require a lot of bandwidth to run, and the games themselves are far simpler. So, sure, I think streaming for games like that makes a bit of sense. Modern games on the other hand? RoFL.

If this is going to continue to be a problem, Nintendo has a few options. They can release better quality Joycons going forward. They can cut the price of Joycons, since they're cheap PoSs and overpriced for what they are. At the very least they need to start offering left and right Joycons individually so that one is not paying full price for a pair of Joycons to replace just one. Unfortunately, unless they use better components for the Lite, drift is going to be a problem, and the c...

I don't think they've all been bad, and I appreciate that Capcom has taken the time to port some of their older games over, which a lot of companies haven't done. There is certainly value in being able to play retro games on one's platform of choice, especially on modern systems as that ensures that said games aren't lost to time.
Capcom has had a decent flow of both old and new games in recent years, and I appreciate that.

It seems that "___, says dev" is one of the favoured formulas for an article that generates hits. Oftentimes they're really obscure devs that few have heard of, but hey, they're still a great tool to get hits. I myself am kind of sick of these articles though and have come to regard them as barely one step above stuff from armchair analysts like Patcher, if only because even obscure devs have experience actually working with hardware, even in cases where it's minimal. ...

Smoking cigars in backrooms with the league of corrupt AAA devs, led by EA. I swear a bunch of these devs frequently get together and talk about how they can exploit the consumer and take control away from us. MTs, GaaS and support for streaming are just the latest examples of what comes out of those meetings. In turn, the quality of their games slip off as they focus more on dollar signs than trying to create a good product.

On the plus side, Bethesda has only recently ...

I love physical games and primarily buy retail releases in that form. Heck, if I see a physical copy of an indie game on store shelves that I never knew had a physical release I will often snag it. There have also been a couple instances where I've seen a physical release of a game I already owned digitally, but couldn't help but snag it physically as well. Hey, that Stardew Valley release has a map.

If given the choice, I'll always go with physical games a...
