Consult my list below, which covers crimes of all of the Big 3 and multiple third party studios.
Nintendo (as well as their cohorts at Game Freak) contributed quite a few items to that list. Cutting content from previous games but still selling sequels for the same price? If we're lucky we sometimes get to pay for DLC that includes cut content. Or maybe some free patches, if we're really lucky, to turn a bare bones game into one more substantial (I do believe New...
That makes sense. I lost a villager who I really want back and considered looking into seeing if I can pay to have her come back. She ended up on a friend's island though and I'm trying to figure out how to get her back from there, as I'm 99% sure if I had another copy of her move in she would act like she was meeting me for the first time (as I don't think Nintendo programmed in recognition of having had certain villagers, though I'd love to be proven wrong).
Not surprising. My friend and I compare turnip prices and buy large quantities from whoever's town has the lowest price, and we frequently consult one another on turnip prices in our towns throughout the week.
Oh, there's a long list of things various companies have done in recent years that are anti-consumer, and enough of them are doing it that it has become a problem:
Content cut from previous games but a game is still priced the same or higher.
Content cut from previous games that is then sold as paid DLC.
Content cut from previous games that is held hostage by devs who say you probably should have supported said content in the past, and if you want it n...
Yet people will grasp at straws and bend over backwards to say you're wrong and you should just blindly worship them. I do like Nintendo and their IPs, but they have done a lot of things lately that are objectively anti-consumer, and as someone who possesses something called a brain, I'm going to call them out for it as I would with any other company.
Indeed, and I think only one was COVID related, so it seems to mostly be a horrible coincidence.
Too bad I already have it in my backlog after getting it for $15CAD. I did enjoy the original for what it is, but...it's hardly the greatest game ever created. But, for a cute platformer, I didn't mind it so much. On the other hand, that was back when I didn't have a whole lot to play on my PS4. I now have countless games on my PS4 alone. But...I suppose a chill platformer isn't the worst thing in the world. I'll just have to think about when I want to play it. It...
It's evident by comparison to its direct predecessor that this remake was made with a different philosophy. It isn't an above and beyond, chance to revisit an iconic game and expand on what made it great to begin with kind of remake. It has a similar graphical style, and even plays similarly mechanically, but it's clear that the same kind of heart wasn't put into the creation of this one. It seems to me that it exists purely because the remake of RE2 was so successful and C...
Especially considering the original Nemesis was way more frightening than the original Mr. X.
Yeah, mediocre games that fall short in their own unique way...that is when they actually do make games, which is rare.
Yes and no. They’re definitely about more than updating graphics. People still want to see the old content though. It is about revisiting the past. But, it is an opportunity too, for improvements, additions, etc., if the devs feel so inclined. There’s no black and white right and wrong way to do a remake, but what’s most important is that it’s a good product in its own right. Remake or not, it should be a solid game.
This season has been terrible and lots of people have died. Sad times.
Aw man. This has been a terrible year for deaths. RIP.
Ok, thanks. I'll try that. I've heard complaining doesn't do anything but I did it three times yesterday. I also moved the villager's house to a stretch of land with no bridge to it. I'll further add to his exile with the fence trick I looked up, where I can wait until he's home and fence him in so he can't leave.
I hate doing all this mean stuff, but he really is a creep. His house is pretty chic and appearance wise he's not that terr...
I found out that you can't terraform the beach. That's too bad as there's a villager I've been trying to get rid of as he's creepy and kind of a freak, but he lived too close to the beach so I couldn't put a fence around his house. Alas, I had to spend 50,000 bells to move him to his own small island, where I'll also fence him in ASAP.
Oh well, it's good to know what I can and can't do for future reference. I plan on doing something aw...
It's a relic of what could have been, and things would have been way different had it happened. Both companies have dominated this gen (sorry MS), but I'm just imagining how unstoppable they would have been had they worked together.
On the other hand, I think things worked out for the best. Certainly, creating the PlayStation brand is one of the best business moves Sony has ever made. Also, there would have been far less competition had these two companies been...
For a dedicated home console it's doing amazing. Anything with handheld capabilities always has the edge in that country for a variety of reasons. Not to knock the Switch's success of course. Nintendo made some excellent choices with their latest system that have helped it soar in popularity. But, it's good to see that even the PS4 has a good foothold in Japan too.
Games have always been defined just as much by the limitations of the time, as what can be done, and some intriguing things have been done to find creative ways to work around said limitations. Such limitations were far more evident in the PS1 days, although you still see creative workarounds in modern games (how Horizon renders its world is an interesting example). But, limitations or not, the end result is a product that is all the better for it. From interesting art styles to creative a...
That won't save it. It was beyond saving even at launch. I wonder how much money Google is willing to lose on this thing before they finally give up on it?
@Imalwaysright Well, in that case hats off to you. I tried my hand at learning another language (Japanese) and know firsthand how difficult it is, so kudos for that. Note, I'm not targeting you specifically with my responses either, so don't take this as a personal attack or anything. I intend to keep this discussion purely Nintendo-based. You just happen to be a stand-in for a lot of Nintendo fans at the moment, and one of the rare few who can actually articulate a response (prov...
