I love the game, but I agree that there are a number of QoL improvements that could be made to make it even better.
Lulz, they even got Kira Buckland to lend her voice to this vid. All these changes need to happen, including ones I'd never thought ot. I'd also love a bird's eye view when terraforming, but I'd settle for having a target. Another QoL change that needs to happen is being given the option to let a villager go more often. I shouldn't have...
They don't even need to do that. If they just released an upscaled port, I'd buy it. EA loves cutting corners, as does any subsidiary of EA like Bioware. What would be more corner cutting than just re-releasing an old game and only giving it minor visual enhancements? But I doubt we will even get that as it's something gamers actually want.
I don't think Nintendo does gens in the same way.
A game system, as in a device centered purely around entertainment, hasn't sold as well as cell phones and tablets, the former of which is something a functional adult in modern Western society should have, and the latter of which is invested in en masse for its various practical functions? I'm shocked! I can accept the notion that Nintendo has gone a different route, and has done its best to appeal to the on-the-go gamer too, but I don't think they ever had any delusions of out...
I doubt it. MS has a huge uphill battle if they want to convince PS4 and Switch gamers to check out their system. They tend to double down on power because that's the only ace they have in the hole, and it really only gets them so far. That said, I am glad for their sake that they're at least trying to do better. I'm sure as heck not expecting a huge departure from what we got with the XB1 though. That will probably work just fine for some people, especially the loyal Xbox fa...
Not badly enough for MS to have a Wii U or Vita situation, but badly enough that they sure got their butt handed to them.
Especially considering the Wii U was actually outsold by the Vita. But, I guess that's irrelevant in a console only comparison. The only bigger insult would be to compare the XB1 to the Stadia and say "well, at least it sold better than the Stadia".
I actually ended up agreeing to send Plucky, one of my two starters away, when Celia decided to take her place as I seem to be handed rare villager types, and I couldn't say no to her. Well, that and as a starter I felt I needed to send Plucky away to "evolve" into a non-starter, even though it's really the interior of her house that evolved. A friend of mine convinced her to move to her island. Another friend, who's the first friend's fiance, just happened to hav...
You realize there's such a thing as social media if you want to connect with your friends, right? Granted, I've had a great time inviting friends over to my island in New Horizons because I can't do it IRL. But, that's in no small part because I also happen to enjoy it as a game. So, a game can very much be both, but IMHO a game should be a game first and foremost.
Lulz.
Come to think of it, you're right. I can't think of too many games nowadays where I even remember the music.
Yeah, I'm more about Tekken 3 too, mostly because that's the first Tekken game I had. I never played 1 and 2 until the arcade ports in Tekken 5 (which didn't exactly inspire me to check out the PSN ports of the PS1 titles). But, it was kind of neat to see where the series started so I guess I'm glad I checked those games out.
Nintendo needs to add something like this. I'm thankful that we can terraform now, but having to manually change things tile by tile with no bird's eye view can be challenging.
@Chocoburger Yeah, sequels are great, but they don't always make sense. Sometimes there comes a point where the story has been told and it's time to move on. We will always have the Uncharted games. Those aren't going to up and vanish. But, sometimes it no longer makes sense to add to a series. Maybe it's complete now.
Guns are clearly a very popular tool to facilitate action, and that makes sense. But, I agree that some variety would be nice too. I...
Neat, and kind of fitting since I recently found out that it's possible to send villagers to a friend to "evolve" in a sense. I knew that starter villagers only have basic house interiors, and a friend of mine pointed out that there's a second starter tier, as the first three villagers acquired after that also have limitations imposed on their interior, though there's a bit of variety based on their personality type. I sent one of my starters away and when I've vis...
Gee...I have to go way back for that. Aladdin on the Genesis, I think (on the original hardware, back when it was new).
Well, I know quite a few people who weren't quite ready to let the Jak and Daxter series go, but when Naughty Dog decides to move on, that's what happens. If they hadn't, we wouldn't have the Uncharted series, so I think it worked out for the best. What I'm saying is, ND moving on from Uncharted could bring us the next great thing. Maybe it's not what everyone wants right now, but in hindsight it could turn out to be for the better.
Touche
I only have eyes for Popurri, but...thanks, I guess?
Good for you? If you were worth more of my time I'd leave you a snarky comment.
First off, the game just came out and you're already talking about a sequel? I've heard there are plans to add content through updates for at least a couple years, and New Horizons released several years after New Leaf.
Also, it sounds like you would much rather just play Stardew Valley, no offense. I mean, I can respect that, but adding in all that stuff would make it less like Animal Crossing and more like another kind of game that you can easily just go play....
