Well, considering I've seen PS4 ports of PS3 titles priced at $80CAD upon release, yes but they're not the only ones doing it. Granted, the vast majority of the PS4 ports happened in the first year or two after launch. Maybe the Switch will be a similar story. Or maybe it won't as the portable aspect is making it an attractive option for ports. Time will tell I guess.

Oh? Is it time for another one of these articles? I guess it has been a while since I've seen one.

I'll believe it when I see the proof. Also, it would be such a miracle that the world might end due to the Earth being thrown off its axis.

They announced something that could be amazing (if done well), and make it a mobile title? Screw 2018. Actually, 2018 is awesome, but the whole app game craze is something I don't love as a core gamer.

I think so. There are even more heavy-hitters landing this year.

I've seen external HDDs marketed specifically to PS4 owners around, and let me tell you, they're sold for an arm and a leg more than one that isn't specifically for the PS4 but does the exact same thing and adds just as much storage capacity. I've seen one sold at EB Games for $189.99CAD for 2TB, and the same one sold at Best Buy for $139.99, but I bought a 2TB Seagate one off of Amazon for $89.99 and it works just fine. It's like companies are trying to prey on the unin...

You want to know the main reason why I'm angry at EA right now? It's not the MTs in games that also cost full retail price, although that is horrendous. It's that they couldn't just opt to focus on multiplayer games and release a statement saying that's what they want to focus on because they think that's best for their bottom line. They had to take the slimy, underhanded route and spread a rumour that singleplayer, narrative-driven games are dying off, just so they...

Everything they've done lately screams yes, but I think it's a last-ditch effort. They may not be the end of their rope quite yet, but they're getting there. If they still continue to get trounced by the competition even with the X, they might start singing a different tune. They may even pull an EA if they decide to pull out of the console market and spread some BS about console gaming dying off despite their competitors continuing to do well. I think Xbox still has some year...

They'll have to do better than that. Launch exclusive is the new term for timed exclusive. I wouldn't doubt they would do that with another Tomb Raider to try to make up for not having Uncharted, but SE won't let them have permanent exclusivity. Besides, the XB1's list of current and upcoming exclusives is a lot smaller than the PS4's so securing a couple exclusives isn't going to cut it, AAA or not. I've even heard PUBG is timed.

Tell us something we don't know.

Well, sure, but that's hardly an unknown concept. I prefer consoles for the comfort factor, and I find Steam almost presents me with too many choices. Still, I've noticed that companies get away with charging more on console services for games than they do on Steam. WTF? Also, I just like having the option to play some Steam exclusives, or when the console version is toned down, like with Unepic, I'll just get it on Steam. That and there are way more Humble Bundle deals for S...

The "positive change" they need to make is securing more exclusives. As long as they fail to get that they're just going to keep stumbling and not knowing why.

Yes, but prices were still higher here. Some BS about costs of shipping to Canada that no one bought but still had to deal with the effects of. Before the Canadian dollar crashed (due to our former PM investing too much in oil) things were starting to improve, but the whole reason why I have an Amazon.com account that I haven't used in a long time is that around that time it was still often cheaper to buy stuff from the US site even with shipping costs. It helped that our dollar reache...

I enjoyed Lair despite the learning curve (it took a while to figure out how to get the dragon to do what I wanted). The ending is also pretty anti-climactic. An easy way to take out a final boss: fly by and destroy the tower she's in. However, there were moments in the middle of the game where I genuinely had a good time. I pretty much knew what I was getting into with the game before buying it though, and at the time it was one of the best looking games to get for my then shiny new ...

Well, she did go to work for EA. If they can't sell their singleplayer, story-based games, they'll do anything to try to negatively affect sales of singleplayer games by other devs. They'll spread lies that singleplayer games are dying off. Heck, they probably paid Amy Hennig to say what she did here. Amy please, leave EA. You're better than this.

I predict articles for the foreseeable future that share when one system overtakes the other in Japan. Think like one of those races with the annoying announcer saying "Sony has pulled ahead, now it's Nintendo, now it's Sony again", but spread out over several months worth of articles. Journalism FTW. In all seriousness, good on the PS4 given that it's not a handheld, which is a huge handicap in Japan's market. The PS4 is way in the lead worldwide though so the J...

None of the three major consoles are perfect. The PS4 is just dominating because it happens to be solid where it counts: its library of exclusives. There are always things that can be improved on, but the competition has even more to work on.

It has to start outselling the PS4 first. Winning one month, even if it is December, isn't going to cut it. Next, it has to maintain first place for a good long time after. I just don't see that happening. I think it can take 2nd from the XB1 though.

The perfect game doesn't exist and you can find flaws in even the most well-regarded titles if you dig deep enough. Also, I think the jury for The Game Awards is a tad biased, putting not one, but both of Nintendo's latest titles in their top 2. But, 2017 had its share of solid GotY contenders. So many studios brought their A game, and Nintendo was one of them. In fact, Nintendo brought their A game, twice. BotW deserved to be on the list of GotY contenders, and I don't think...
