If they don't cost money, sure. I mean it, not even with the option to buy them. If players get them periodically for playing the game, and only through playing the game, that could work. There would still be a luck factor, but mathematically speaking, the more someone plays and the more Loot Crates they collect, the higher odds they would have of getting something great. MMOs have thrived on that concept for decades now.
Making people pay money to get them howeve...
Yes and no. They can be a selling factor, but they're only part of the overall experience. Ideally a game can look and play great, and have a great story to boot if that's relevant to the experience. But, I'd rather play a game that is subpar visually but is enjoyable to play than one that looks great but otherwise blows monkey chunks.
Moreover, if a system is capable of better graphics but can't play nearly as many games, it's kind of a moot point be...
Well, handhelds sell there for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is Japan's hectic culture that leaves one traveling a lot by train, and the tiny apartments where one would be hard pressed to put in a proper home theatre system. Even the Vita is doing well in Japan. Good on the Switch though.
Yeah, Horizon easily dispels two notions circulating around the internet as it's proof that exclusives sell, and so do singleplayer games. If more companies were like Guerrilla and got people to buy their games and profit simply by making them awesome...oh wait, I can't finish that thought. EA =/= the entire industry and there have been plenty of quality titles last year, with more coming this year from far more reputable studios. All 2017 proves is that some studios are more worth...
Let's see, my prediction is: Sony will continue to rely on quality exclusives to sell their systems and do quite well at that. MS will continue to rely on power to sell their systems, and maybe do alright but nowhere near as well as Sony, and will continue to wonder why.
Bioware was never the problem. It's EA. Unfortunately Bioware tends to come with a side of EA, so if Bioware has a problem, it's that.
Actually, that would be a remaster of the HD remaster of the remake of RE1. I'm being pedantic, I know. Actually, didn't they do that? I'll have to check the PlayStation Store. I could have sworn they did. If they haven't, that's a no-brainer.
REmake 2 please. Barring that, how about an update on Jill. Revelations 3? Either would be acceptable to me, plus it would be great to go back and see younger Claire in a current gen coat of paint.
Anyone who hasn't played this game, and all other entries in the series really ought to. If you own a PS4 there's a great collection of the first three games that won't cost you that much, so there's no reason not to.
Maybe. It seems like some AAA devs like to skip bug testing so they can rush out their products and give gamers who paid full retail price the pleasure of testing it for them. The only difference is we pay them rather than them having to pay an employee to do it. Actually, that's a pretty significant difference. That's why I rarely buy games on day 1 anymore.
No, gamers aren't idiots so that's not something they can capitalize on. They surpasssd Sony one month of the year, and only in NA at that. They still lost to Sony world wide, and were trounced all year even in NA. MS just can't seem to figure out why their systems aren't selling as well, and I doubt they ever will.
Hey MS...how about securing more exclusives? You can try and back the notion that exclusives don't matter, but Sony and Nintendo have ...
Only if gamers let companies like EA cause that crash. Option B: support games from more reputable studios who actually have a grasp on what gamers want and aren't trying to exploit us in an evil manner. I think going forward it will be a while until I buy another title with EA's logo on it unless something shifts drastically in their ideology. With any luck the only companies experiencing a crash will be the ones who deserve it, while companies like Guerrilla become the new indust...
I disagree. Nintendo may not like to put much effort into their hardware, but it's doubtful they want to be more than a gen behind. It's true that they stay afloat thanks to their exclusives, because games are more important than hardware, but there's another reason why they should still come up with new systems periodically: hype. People get hyped for new systems. Existing systems can do well for a good while but their sales eventually stagnate. New systems reinvigorate inte...
I wonder why Sony keeps mopping the floor with the competition? *Looks at list of upcoming exclusives.* Oh, right. Exclusives matter.
Agreed! But, EA sucks at promoting their singleplayer games and that means singleplayer games are dying off./s I just enjoy seeing them proven wrong time and again.
And?
Horizon was the GotY for many. I think people are way too hung up on what one group thinks, especially now that the Internet has dozens upon dozens of sites with differing opinions. It's how multiple games each year can release as a GotY Edition the following year, or how some games can even claim to be a 50-100x GotY winner. Besides, GotY or not, Horizon sold really well and will continue to do so.
I'm not saying that particular jury was wrong for picking Zeld...
Being portable makes it a great place for ports as there are so many games that have never been portable before. There are plenty of new titles incoming too, and I look forward to the VC.
Well, I'll be. I thought The World Ends With You was done after its initial release. That really takes me back. It's looking more and more like I'll have to get a Switch at some point.
I think it's great...but like with many series, sequels have improved on it. I will say, hats off to the original for still looking great, playing great and feeling like Uncharted to this day as many series grow more and more distant from their first entries over time, sometimes making it difficult to go back and play them. Not so with Uncharted, which also includes virtually all of the series staples from day 1. But, that formula only benefits from improved visuals and set pieces, and...
