Maybe they're being made because people want them, and not just due to running out of ideas? The .hack// G.U. Last Recode collection introduced me to one of the most fascinating continuities (albeit one that's the poster child for why "multimedia projects" aren't commonplace). I may actually finally be able to follow the Kingdom Hearts series once I dig those collections out of my backlog. The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was both a trip back to my childhood and a ...

Yeah, against fictional characters. Name one game that glorifies school shootings and tells people they should go out and try that in real life.

If you have to treat console exclusives as exclusives and add in some rumoured early development titles to make even a top 8 list, that's says a lot about the state of a system's lineup vs that of the competition.

Another day, another PS5 article. People have been talking about it since before the PS4 even launched. When the PS5 is finally rolled out there will be articles about the PS6. Some things never change.

Everything...although if I had to pinpoint a specific thing, maybe consider not having MTs. Or...just don't make another Metal Gear Survive.

Konami: "We really don't want you to buy this game."
Consumer: "Ok, thanks Konami. I'll buy something else instead."

Actually, I've been wondering, even if people in the US are somehow deluded into thinking you need guns for self-defense, how is it that minors can buy guns before they're even allowed to drink, and on what planet could an automatic weapon be construed as "defensive"? Ever hear of a handgun? I disagree that people even need that for self-defense, but you would have a much easier time making a case for having that than a SMG.

Sounds like it's time for government officials over a certain age to retire and settle into a care home. Anyone who proves they don't understand how the current decade works shouldn't be proposing legislations or voting on things. That's how we ended up with Net Neutrality ending, and now Rhode Island might have a stupid tax on M rated games if that bill passes. I know that's from two different levels of government, but in both cases it seems unlikely that the individua...

I'm glad I don't live on Rhode Island, lol. Children should not be playing M rated games anyways. Parents who let their kids play such games should be taxed for being stupid. I'm not actually serious about that last part as there's no way to prove a parent is being a dunce, but come on! I like to think 17 year olds and older are capable of consuming said games without thinking they can just go out and do what they do in GTA on the streets of their real life suburb or city....

Yes, forgoing a dub isn't going to save the series at the rate they're going. This latest game is apparently on track to be the worst-selling in the series. They really aren't in a position where pulling an Ubisoft with annual releases makes sense. Heck, Ubisoft stopped pulling an Ubisoft and took their time with Assassin's Creed Origins and look how that turned out. That's a AAA title, and Ubisoft wised up and stopped with the annual releases. Fast-releases of niche ...

Between this and their comments that they don't want users playing the game to get too friendly with one another, I'm guessing they just don't want people to buy this game.

Yes. I'm actually surprised they're not recognized as a valuable education tool. I'm not saying we should do away with classrooms and books, but we now have more resources than ever that can be used to teach any number of subjects, and with those additional resources come more options. Options are good as people learn in different ways. All I'm saying is games are just one of many types of resources that can augment what's already employed in classrooms.

Stop buying all the stupid arguments EA makes. If games were so expensive to make how did they survive before MTs and GaaS? Besides, we still see great games like last year's Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Guerrilla never went on record to complain that they can't make up development costs without trying to screw over their audience.

This argument that games are getting too expensive to make has only been made by a select few AAA devs and publishers, and only in the la...

Only if we let it. We didn't let EA walk all over us with MTs, and did not buy any of the BS arguments they made defending them. GaaS could be a tool to accomplish a similar end of screwing over the consumer. The fact that we're even talking about this rather than just going with the flow shows that we as gamers know what's going on. There's nothing wrong with having games tied to a service, but we will be the judge of whether it's being used in a pro-consumer manner. ...

You know, it's really something that a minor can go to a store in the US and buy an automatic weapon, legally. I don't agree with the 2nd amendment at all and think it's the most retarded thing ever, but I guess it makes sense to Americans. Still, maybe some changes can be made like making the minimum age to purchase a gun 21 and maybe not selling automatic weapons in stores? Even if Americans believe in having a gun for self-defense, I fail to equate that to "everyone sho...

And judging by the quantity of first party XB1 exclusives we've seen in recent years, that diversity amounts to...do people even work at MS first party studios anymore?

I confess that I never read the service agreement, so I couldn't tell you. For all I know every game company with such an agreement could be entitled to a fraction of my soul when I die.

Well, there are better ways to try and regulate harassment than Konami's trying to do here. If that's their aim, they could have phrased that clause in their service agreement accordingly instead of beating around the bush. As it stands harassment didn't even cross my mind when reading that.

If that bit about PS Home is true, there are far better ways Sony could have dealt with that issue back then too. In their defense it was their first foray into an MMO-li...

And that's Konami's business how? I fail to see how that would affect their bottom line in any way, or how it would be possible to enforce that rule. People will play the game together. So what if they sometimes become friends...or something more? You can't tell people how they should feel about one another or what they can say to each other. All Konami has accomplished here is shooting themselves in the foot as they've revealed they're d-bags and some people may pass...

Yes and no. Some franchises benefit from branching out into different genres, but it has to be the right fit and there are some series that truly suit just sticking to what they are. Most of all though, the quality has to be there. If the dev team can pull off a great experience that is a good fit for their series then they should go for it. If not, they're better off sticking to what they do best.

In the case of Fire Emblem, I don't actually think hack and slas...
