I don't think PS4 sales figures are a remotely realistic target. The Switch may very well continue to do well depending on how Nintendo handles things though. If they roll out the VC service and include the bulk of what can be found on previous console and handheld VC services, the Switch could have some longevity as a legacy system. If they continue to deliver solid first party support and also have solid third party support as well, they could have something. I'm seriously doubt...

I'm always willing to help a fellow gamer, so done. Clearly this survey was made with casuals in mind, lol. Have you ever played a videogame? How many games do you purchase a year with 6+ being the highest option? Still, I hope my answers help.

Actually, while the PSP didn't outsell the DS it still managed to top 80 million sales which is more than enough to be considered a success. The Vita could have been a success too, but Sony just didn't care enough about it to give it proper support, which is a real shame as it's a pretty well-designed system aside from the memory card format, which was a terrible decision on Sony's part. I love Japanese games so my Vita has gotten some use, but the 3DS is far more consumer f...

It would have been an intelligent business decision a gen ago. I'm not saying there's no market for dedicated handhelds now as the 3DS did well, and the Switch is doing well as a hybrid. The Vita is a highly underrated system that could have done better if Sony really tried with it (which they didn't). But, it is true that mobile devices have taken a large portion of that market, and if MS can't figure out the console market right now there's practically zero chance the...

It's debatable whether there will be too many more Xboxes period, so probably not unless you count the future of Windows phones. A true, dedicated, Xbox handheld probably isn't in the cards.

I could see the next Xbox being like that, if there even is a next Xbox, but I highly doubt the PS5 will be. I'd say that SE is very nearly the Japanese equivalent of EA, and may have a similar agenda in wanting to push for an all digital future, so I'm not sure if that comment is very credible. Even the director of one of Japan's biggest franchises can't predict the future anyways unless he actually has a mole inside Sony and MS and can verify that is what they are legitima...

Persona 4 is missing shooting yourself in the head with a gun-like apparatus and "stealing the hearts" of adversaries. It's called having a theme and sticking to it. All three modern mainline Persona games are excellent in that regard, and no I don't think a given entry should have to adopt the themes of its predecessors. If Persona 5 adopted themes from previous games it probably would have been unfocused. As it stands it managed to work its theme brilliantly into its n...

It's almost like investing in everything but exclusives isn't working for them. Who would have thought? /s

My backlog became so big years ago that I just stopped caring. No, I'll probably never beat all the games I own, and yes, I do like adding new games to my collection all the time. I even stopped using terms like "backlog mountain" years ago because it would be much faster to get on a plane and make a trip to climb Mt. Everest than it would to beat all the games I own. People could actually recommend me games I do in fact own and just haven't played yet.

You mean like how Wolfenstein II was "too political"? I don't think game devs are the ones feeding the current BS political climate, or at least they're not contributing the most to the problem. It's the people who over-analyze games and find a way to link them to the current political climate even if that was never the dev's intention, all for the sake of raising controversy where there is none.

I'm not going to say that politics should be...

It does and it doesn't. Hardware is a good thing. So is innovation. It's what first and third parties do with a system that matters, and most importantly, what games a system has to offer. Multiplats are cool, but exclusives matter because they differentiate one system's library from that of another.

All the power in the world is moot if its selection of games are limited, but the same can be said of innovation. Nintendo isn't doing well simply becaus...

He should be a supporting character in an anime about a videogame tournament. He could have a great cheesy line like "prepare for the song of your doom!"

Companies have found a cheap way to get bug testing done without having to pay employees to do it? Betas are at least more in-depth than demos in that they can offer a much bigger portion of the experience. The main drawback is that betas aren't the final build of the game, so some things may change. Also, betas are only offered for a limited time then are gone, and they only exist on digital space which they are promptly removed from, while demos can stay on digital storefronts.

Nooooo!!!! I've beaten Persona 5, but haven't gotten to Nier: Automata yet, and I'm still on Volume 1 of .Hack// G.U. Last Recode! I'm swamped with PS4 exclusive JRPGs!!!! Ni no Kuni II has been at the top of my most anticipated list for a while, at least since Persona 5 was released. So many games, so little time, and that's just the JRPGs. I play a lot of other kinds of games too and my PS4 would probably file a restraining order if it were a person.

I'm not sure if I'd classify 30+ million sales as a failure, but it's probably not the result MS was hoping for. They absolutely can afford another console. MS money seems to know no bounds. A better question isn't whether they can, but whether they will. If MS doesn't think a new console is worth the investment, then they won't do it. Time will tell if that's the case. It's irrelevant whether they have the money or not (even though they certainly do). T...

Because it's the latest popular game? Most gamers aren't married to just one game/series. How is this news?

3057d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Let Sony and Nintendo decide that. MS is by far the most likely to exit the console market in the foreseeable future, but Sony and Nintendo are showing no signs of contemplating such an exit. Maybe the signs will crop up next gen, but I'm just not seeing them now, so it's practically guaranteed that there will be a PS5 and a follow-up to the Switch (though the latter may not release in the same timeframe as the former). There's a pretty good chance there will be another gen aft...

Well, the game is excellent. I'd rather have a great game that has one less feature and does everything it does have really well, than for a bunch of other content to be compromised to make room for just one additional feature.

I think they want to. They probably won't till next gen but all the more reason to support their competitors instead.

No matter how good the game ends up being, it's one game. It will not make people forget that there aren't too many more XB1 exclusives in the pipeline.
