@DillyDally The PS4 and XB1 actually would have launched at the same price, but MS thought it was a good idea to shove a $100 peripheral down the throats of everyone who purchased their system for a while. The price disparity had less to do with Sony doing anything special and more to do with MS being an idiot.
In any case, I don't think either company is going to force consumers to also buy an extra peripheral this time around. If the next Xbox has cheaper hardware t...
I'm anticipating $500, and pre-ordering will help as I can pay it off gradually. I'm super stoked either way.
Here's to a future of choice of game format, of a great variety of exclusives, and of backwards compatibility. A future where companies tell me what they want the future to be and try to force it on me is not one I support, nor is a future of services over games. So yes, I'll vote with my wallet and help make the PS5 the future of gaming.
In terms of requiring remasters as a means of accessing a certain game, I think that may be less necessary, which for me would be a good thing. Remasters and cross-gen titles will still likely be a thing. The real benefit of BC though will just be a convenient and more affordable way for publishers to have their games on PS5 rather than having to fork out for an enhanced port. Remasters and cross-gen titles will simply be a luxury some games are afforded for that much greater performance, ...
Well, that's why I give more of my support to those companies who aren't forcing this future on us. It may come in time, but I would rather it not be because some companies are forcing it on us. I will continue to support physical media. I sometimes buy digital and if I have no other option it's not as if I'll avoid those particular games. I just like having the choice where it's available, and I will continue to advocate for that choice. I do not take kindly to compa...
@Godmars290 If MS does that, it will just discourage me even further from supporting the Xbox brand.
Objection! There's no bad time to buy a PS4!
Why doesn't that surprise me? User created content often goes that way, because apparently maturity is in short supply these days. I guess if people want equal treatment they can make boob stages. :)
Cool. I’m getting a PS5.
Weren’t those so called “experts” saying the same thing about the PS4 and XB1? Also, how is an unproven product like the Stadia making them think about anything?
It will probably cost $500USD, and I think that would be a reasonable price all things considered.
Screw day one. I’m pre-ordering this beast so it will already be bought come launch day.
Well, aside from the Switch, those other “more exciting” consoles don’t interest me at all, and I’m looking forward to pre-ordering that boring 8K console with its bland Radeon chip and the mediocrity of its backwards compatibility and PS VR support. I’m sure it will “bore me to death” with its top-notch exclusives, because we all know that gimmicks and services should be prioritized before old fashioned stuff like games as that’s not what a games console should be about in this day and age....
I'm looking forward to pre-ordering this. Of course my wallet can wait until it's officially open for that.
Since when were singleplayer games dead in the first place? Good on companies like Sony and Nintendo for never giving up on them though. There are some great third party companies making singleplayer games too. Don’t believe what joke companies like EA have been spewing.
Ok. With a headline like that I was expecting worse. That size seems standard fare for an open world game. Good thing I have a 2TB external HDD.
Huh? But zombies aren’t realistic...and Days Gone doesn’t even have zombies in it. Is there a magic research society that can examine magic depicted in games? I’d love to read the comments on that article, especially if it mistakenly includes games where what the characters can do isn’t technically magic. Oh, I still wouldn’t read it but I’m sure the headline and sample paragraph would be fun.
So...it’s a S without a disc drive, essentially. There really isn’t anything special or noteworthy about this and its price isn’t even that impressive. As my grandmother would say, oh whoop dee doo.
It was definitely worth the $80CAD I paid for it, so yeah I agree.
I'd love for it to be $400 but I just don't think that's realistic given what we've heard about the specs of this new system. The PS4 launched at that price because believe it or not, Sony actually wasn't focused on going all-out with hardware, but wanted something that was both affordable and relatively easy to program for. This time around it seems like they're focusing a little more on hardware. It's unlikely they will go too expensive, hence why most people ...
