Aw man. Well, I hope he has a good retirement.
@Palitera I disagree about the story. The overarching plot sucks hard, sure. I mean, the showdown with Vidic hyped up over multiple games ended just like that? What a giant middle finger. But, the historical stuff which is the bulk of any AC game has a well-crafted story IMHO, with some neat twists and turns not seem up to that point in the series.
Not the worst either, your point? They’ve remastered almost all the other games, so why not?
Ummm....they pretty much have. They just haven’t done the bare bones first game/Bloodlines at this point.
Yeah, the PS4 already offers your choice of distribution, whether it be physical, digital or streaming. What’s Sony supposed to be emulating exactly, that they don’t already do?
That doesn’t actually make Arkham Knight the same canon, but...ok, cool. I mean, Harley Quinn wasn’t originally created for the comics and was added after the success of that one cartoon, so this isn’t the first time a spin-off character has penetrated the original source material, but I think it’s great that DC is open to that sort of thing.
But, PS Now has been a thing for years...
He’s done something right. I mean, no one’s paying me for my opinions. I’m sometimes right, sometimes wrong, but so is Patcher. Apparently being correct the majority of the time isn’t a requirement for his job so I don’t know what is.
You do know physical games will still be a thing, right? Gamestop exclusive pre-order content will likely continue. If you’re inquiring about codes for additional content, it’s just game download codes that Sony’s axing here.
If they use their brains and realize the importance of games beyond a launch lineup they might be able to compete. If they do what they did this gen they’ll probably beat Google no problem, but Sony and Nintendo will likely leave them in the dust once again.
I would assume that like with the PS Pro and X, “more powerful hardware” won’t mean an entirely new system, just a revision with a little more horsepower. These rumours are plausible.
Well, hopefully they will decrease their presence in Japan at least. That’s a group of people who just might have less of an EA problem. It doesn’t affect us in the slightest here in NA though.
@vega275 Given that there was a point in time when you couldn’t buy an XB1 without also buying a Kinect, that doesn’t surprise me. How many of those sales were from people who actually wanted a Kinect?
Percentage wise, perhaps, but that still translates to many more units sold than the CD/32X. Why is there a need for context anyways?
I’d say its biggest selling feature is the portability, but that’s been a thing since the PSP...
That’s what I was thinking. I was unaware of this too. I guess it would help with localization. It’s too bad for them that unlike in NA, Japanese people have standards and likely don’t take kindly to someone forcing GaaS and MTs on them. They can easily get games that are complete experience from Day 1 without the need to pay the company behind them any further, so it’s not unreasonable to assume those are the kinds of games they’re more likely to buy. I’m the same way, but it seems a lo...
Neoliberalism at its finest, but to my understanding Japan was always about encouraging its citizens to be workaholics, economic crisis or not. It’s one of the few things that I dislike about Japan TBH, especially considering even the West has a big problem with work culture and Japan just takes that to a whole other level.
At least engaging in nerd culture on public transit won’t get you silently judged in Japan. My mind was blown when I saw a middle-aged businessman in ...
We all know the Switch will, but for a straight-up game console, which is a concept that’s losing more and more traction in Japan over the years, the PS4 has done quite well. Of course, sales figures suggest that Japan is pretty meh about videogames overall these days, but that’s a discussion for another time...
I’m assuming the trade-in will be in wallet funds or some kind of voucher that gives a discount on the next game purchased, but that would be better than nothing. I’ll be super stoked if I could gift friends a game though.
Was anyone expecting it to be?
