Oh man, my mind went to bullet hell games, because I already find those difficult (I openly admit that isn't my genre). I'm just imagining what could happen if From Software made one. I'd be the first to admit I wouldn't be up to the challenge. At least I wouldn't cry about it and demand an easy mode.
Interesting. I think my interest in this collection just went up.
I was thinking that I actually really love Athena and think it’s a highly underrated gem, but then I only know about it through the PSN Minis release some years ago and I’m pretty sure that’s the arcade version, and I’ve never played the NES version.
I’d say it’s time for EA game developers to move on from EA, but the prospect of that is slim, assuming these studios aren’t walking corpses as it is.
When MS of all companies is calling Google out, that doesn't bode particularly well for the Stadia. It would mean a lot more coming from Sony or Nintendo, but thank you MS for stating the obvious.
You mean let their corpse go. I've personally stopped supporting EA. I mean, it's too late for Bioware but it's only a matter of time before they suck the life out of another dev they acquire, and my money sure as heck won't help line their pockets to make that happen.
So...the author's big complaints are that consoles aren't PCs? Oh, boohoo. Stick to PC gaming then, or are you too busy writing elitist trash like this to make any headway on your Steam backlog?
I guess all the whining about no easy mode didn’t deter people from checking it out. Well, good for Sekiro.
I’m glad Blizzard finally decided to listen to its fans and release this and its sequel on GoG. I’m enjoying the trip down memory lane quite a bit. About the only thing that grinds my gears is the inability to select multiple units at once.
@DaDrunkenJester And here I was thinking I failed us all for forgetting to include the word assimilate in my sentence. Ubisoft’s associates would be so disappointed. I’m probably going to keep thinking of words like that all day.
I see, it’s a program that did this. That makes more sense than a person doing it, and just makes me that much more weary of a future where everything is automated. Perhaps the executives at Ubisoft should assess their assets and call in their assistants to help assemble a better system to assuage this situation.
WTF? This is 10 days late for an April Fools joke.
I’m sorry...what? Can’t a remake of a popular retro kart racer just be a remake of a popular retro kart racer? What pressure to be better than MK8? Can’t two games in the same genre co-exist without it being WWIII?
I’m 31, so perhaps I’m a little out of touch with the latest trends, but I know what I like and while I can adapt to changes, I’m just not ready to accept a future where one of the things I like isn’t an option anymore.
Not to be pedantic, but the thumbnail is from after the original trilogy...
I can see that. Of course if I wanted to be pedantic I would say it won't really be a surprise hit if it's expected to do well prior to its release, but the potential to do really well is what's actually germane to the discussion at hand and on that count I agree.
Not sure if you’re being serious or playing devil’s advocate, but that’s...a very sad and specific scenario. Games are escapism though, not cures. They were never meant to fill a void in your life.
If you got inspired by a piece of media to turn your life around then that’s awesome, but that’s not generally the purpose of entertainment media. At best it normally serves as a remedy that temporarily helps you escape your problems, but there will be no cure until you’re i...
People assumed a user on 4Chan was a credible source? They only have themselves to blame if they're shocked that it turned out to be fake.
I think Steam is a great service, but I'm all for competition as when any company holds a veritable monopoly on anything, they have more control over a particular corner of the market than they should have, and with that comes complacency and less motivation to do more than just coast as much as possible. I mean, there are other storefronts such as GoG, but they're not nearly as huge.
That said, Epic is not the competitor I would have hoped for. I just don't...
My unpopular opinion is that while the Switch does travel better than its competitors, it’s really not a great handheld. It’s just way too large and bulky, and yes, the battery life is a huge drawback.
Props to Nintendo for creating a device that travels and supports local multiplayer, so there’s that. However, it just isn’t as ideal as a 3DS or Vita for carrying around or extended on the go gaming. It’s certainly more powerful than those devices, but its hybrid design I...
