The part I find funny is those defending this game in "being influenced" by Uncharted, yet they'll insult Uncharted for "copying" Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones.
When Naughty Dog have stated they were influenced by Indiana Jones plenty of times (even had Harrison Ford "play" it for a Japanese advert while commenting on it), and Tomb Raider is NOTHING like Uncharted. At all. The only thing they have in common is they go into old temples and lo...
You got that right. Most beautiful city in the world to cement jungle.
Not to mention they most likely have family there, and I doubt they're going to want to move from the far West Coast to the East Coast.
People play consoles because they don't want to deal with the headache of building, buying and maintaining a proper gaming PC. And that's perfectly fine.
Some gamers just want to game. They don't care how you do it, or how pretty your trees and colours look. They just want to wake up/get off work, sit on their couch, turn on their TV, swap a channel and start up a game.
I actually know plenty of people who are actually swapping over to PC for Mu...
Well then, going off of the "PS fans will get it" remark, it won't be anything incredibly obvious to newcomer PS fans. Which I sort of like, since this game is meant for long-time Playstation fans (well, all Playstation fans, really).
I doubt it'll be Kevin Butler, or any other Sony exec/actor tho. It'll most likely be a character from a semi-famous Playstation ad from back in the day. And my brain is really calling at Polygon man.
Something I've been saying for a while. A comparison of Xbox Live Gold and Basic PSN IS NOT A FAIR COMPARISON. XboxLive Silver to Basic PSN is fair, and PS+ to XBLG is fair.
Otherwise you're comparing a subscription service to a free service, which is just ridiculous. You don't compare Hulu to Netflix. You compare Hulu Plus to Netflix.
Not to mention you're comparing an add-on to what comes in the box (aka, PSN comes with the PS3, and XboxLi...
It's crazy how long it's been for Metal Gear. I think I may replay the first Metal Gear Solid, and the Metal Gear on the MSX (I believe it's included in the HD collection) today.
Have to say the first Metal Gear Solid will always be my favorite. Even though MGS2-4 were amazing (4 making me drop tears), nothing beats that feeling I get every time I replay MGS. It almost feels like it can still hold up to many of the games released today.
And to s...
That's exactly what I was about to say. They'd win everyone over with a Netflix-style streaming service of PS1 and 2 games with PS+.
Unless they took the "Onlive Route" and "sold" bundles of themes (RPG, FPS, TPS, etc) that allow you to play a bundle of games for a monthly, or yearly fee. And then also give you the option of buying the game streaming license.
I'd much rather see them do the first idea, but I'm not sure ho...
Haha, yeah. I definitely have no problem waiting until the "Gold" Edition comes out and then drops in price. Nice one Capcom. I was pretty excited about the Multi-character campaign too, but ever since then it's just been bad news.
Of course Microsoft was going to have a response like this. I'll be waiting on the unveiling of the next generation consoles and we'll see who's doing what.
Metal Gear Solid 4, Mass Effect 3, God of War 3, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 for me. There may be more, but those are the ones I remember the most.
:EDIT: Aaaand, Half Life 2. Thank you, Cgalla2679.
Rising won't have any effect on the future Metal Gear games. This is not a "Kojima" Metal Gear, and it's incredibly obvious, and seeing as Kojima has no problem developing normal Metal Gear games, I can't see it ever taking this route again (unless it's a sequel to Rising).
Wow. Smart move, Sony. I'm not sure if we'll see this take effect with Playstation (although it most likely will, since it gives users tons of ways to play, or demo games from the PSStore, even PS3 users would be able to demo PS4 games), but it certainly would help all their other products.
They'd essentially be able to allow people to play Playstation games across all Sony's platforms. So you could literally do what they advertised the Vita and PS3 to be abl...

I think we'd all be better off not knowing games' release dates. That whole thing should be left for talk between developer and publisher. Then once the dev/pub knows the game is near completion, near going gold, then announce the release date.
Or if they want to give fans an idea of when it'll be released, use the whole (for example) "Q2 2012" thing. Or just say Fall, Winter, Summer, etc. At least then any one of those options give you a solid window t...
He said Cross-play. That means you can play the Vita and PS3 versions as if the PS3 and Vita weren't separate platforms.
As of now, we don't know if Nintendo will be doing the same with Super Smash. So it's still a very good point for PSAll-Stars.
To be honest, I think they should make the first game (this current one) have mostly PS1 characters, with some famous PS2 and PS3 characters. Since, like others are saying, there will be sequels, and you can leave the PS2/3 characters for those games.
It'd be a nice throw-back to be able to play as most of the characters that launched the Playstation brand, and re-introduce some of them to the newer generation of Playstation gamers.
The only problem wit...
I've never had a problem with gaming in public. What do all those "critics" think most people are focusing so intently on their iPhone/smartphones for? Do they honestly believe they're sending a 10-20 minute intense text message, or browsing important information on the internet?
No, they're most likely playing a game.
It's the same as watching a movie, or listening to music on the way home, or just in public. NBD.
Halo, Killzone, Metal Gear Solid 4, Super Smash, FFXIII, and LBP would be amazing games to play in the format shown. There was also an Uncharted one somewhere on the internet that I thought would be amazing, too (found it).
Damn, too bad we don't have someone devoted enough to try putting these together. Most likely only on PC, but I'd assume anyone would still be able to play them.
For me, I think it may have to do with not too many people having a use for it.
At least for me, when I'm at home, I rarely ever touch my Vita since I have my PS3/PC, but when I'm at work away from home (which is the only way I work) I only have my Vita to play and I'm incredibly happy to play/have it (since I had to lug my PS3 with me before).
And given how the average person isn't exactly in the same position, most people would prefer to bri...
Wow, those characters look and sound amazing. I'll hopefully earn them sooner than later, as since this last pack, I haven't been able to earn the new characters as easy.
I don't even just want to choose one to try since they all look amazing. BUT, I'll probably be 'maining' the Engineer.
Can't wait until next tuesday.
