2008 seemed fairly even between the PS3 and 360, but based on what has been announced so far the PS3 has the 360 handily beat in 2009.
I know, it boggles the mind doesn't it?
Anyway, the artistic direction suits the mood and setting of the game and they did a really awesome job in my opinion. Fallout 3 was largerly dominated by browns, but that was because it was a post-apocalyptic world after a nuclear bomb had destroyed everything and so the choice in color palette suited the world just fine. The same general idea applies here: the Helghast homeworld is alien and somewhat inhospitable, so some of those darke...
When the sky is darkened by smoke and dust why wouldn't the world be darkened somewhat?
Obviously it is an artistic design decision, not a technical limitation. Anybody with any knowledge about graphics rendering laughs when people assume that it has anything to do with the technical capabilities of the console or the game's engine. Believe me, Guerrilla could have made Killzone 2 a rainbow-colored wonderland and the game would run just as it does.
Look at how colo...
This article was needlessly negative. I think at this point we have plenty of feedback (beta, preview builds) to say that Killzone 2 is likely to be an outstanding gaming experience.
Oh well, I guess it will be fun to see these guys change their tune after the game is released.
I lean a little more towards the PS3, but believe me Devil May Cry 4 and Prince of Persia did look a little better on the Xbox 360. I have played both versions of those games.
Dead Space looked the same on both consoles.
The other ones I'm not sure about.
I do have both systems and I think Killzone 2 looks better than anything on the 360. Otherwise, both systems seem to have about the same graphics to me.
But it's true that there are a few more really good looking games on the PS3. Gears 1 and Gears 2 look fantastic, but PS3 has Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, MotorStorm, and Killzone 2. But it's also true that I have noticed a lot of multiplat games that look a bit better on the 360. So far I would say that they are pretty close...
I love my PS3 like crazy, but I think most of us have to admit that Sony could do a little better with their advertising.
I see lots of Wii and Xbox 360 commercials but I don't see nearly as many PS3 commercials.
Come on Sony, people need to know about everything the PS3 can do and what a great value it is. I have never seen them advertise the fact that their online service is free, that you can use it to browse the internet, that it has some of the best exclusi...
I do think Sony should step up their advertising efforts. I don't think they are as bad as some people make it out to be but they could do even better to let the world know what an awesome console they have and the amazing games that are available for it.
Gears 2 is a really good game, I don't care what anybody says. And I lean a little bit towards the PS3.
I also agree. We need Sony and Microsoft competing with one another. I shudder at the thought of a wold with the Wii as the only competitor against one of the HD consoles.
Well, to be fair, when Sony announced their plans of a ten year lifespan for the PS3 they were talking about how long they would support the PS3, it didn't mean that they wouldn't release the PS4 before that time.
Guys, we all need to spread the word about this game. I know it is getting a lot of exposure, but we still need to make sure that everybody knows about this game. If we want to get more quality exclusives from Sony we need to support every one that comes along. LittleBigPlanet is doing pretty good, but it deserves to do better.
I don't think we have to worry too much because I think this game will practically sell itself and I am sure Sony will market it like crazy as well. I ...
There are plenty of good games on both consoles.
I do like to read reviews to get an idea about a game, but in the end I use my own judgment. After all, Uncharted was given average scores by some reviewers but it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time.
This guy knows what he is talking about.
Do you mean Naughty Dog?
Uncharted was amazing because not only did it not require an install, but there was also no loading after the initial load. Those Naughty Dog guys are geniuses.
Wow, I hope this is true. Co-op in Killzone 2 would be so awesome.
I love co-op in shooters like Gears 2 and Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 would be perfect for it.
Yeah, the intro is CGI, but I like the way the rest of the game looks better anyway. I mean, the intro looks nice and it looks better in some ways, but overall I like the look of the in-game graphics more.
It's baffling how this guy could have not been hyped until just this week. Killzone 2 has been looking amazing and we have had great reports from the beta for a long time. This guy was probably just one of the doubters that finally had seen enough that he could no longer doubt this game.
Killzone 2 is unique. I can't remember any other game that has ever been able to match or surpass its pre-rendered target video. It is also the first game that has a quality about it that loo...
Well to be fair, how do you know that the problems haven't mostly been solved with the Jasper chipsets? What evidence do you have?
