As I wrote in another thread in response to a similar absurd comment...
That simply isn't true. There are lots of PS3 games that have fantastic textures. Uncharted, for example, has some of the most detailed textures I have ever seen. A while ago I compared Uncharted to Gears 2, flipping back and forth on my TVs inputs, and found that Uncharted's textures were actually marginally better than those in Gears 2.
Last night I was comparing the graphical qu...
I have the utmost respect for David Jaffe, but I have to disagree with him on this one.
I believe games have evolved to the point of being a storytelling medium. I know they impact ME that way, and I am sure the same is true for millions of other gamers. Videogames DO tell stories that actually emotionally involve the player and so they are most certainly a storytelling medium.
I know this year is looking amazing in terms of games for the PS3, but I can honestly say I have enjoyed my PS3 since the time I got it and as long as it keeps giving me amazing game experiences and great multimedia functionality I am a happy gamer.
I do think the PS3 is on track to become even more successful this year.
I think you meant to say you are getting a PS3 when this game comes out, right?
I am the hugest God of War fan and what can I say...that trailer impressed the hell out of me.
God of War is the pinnacle of action games in my opinion. I love DMC and Ninja Gaiden, but God of War is on another level.

Yep, February 27th is drawing nearer. I can't wait.
That's very true. Rico was also in Killzone Liberation for the PSP (great game by the way).
See, that is just one example of the kind of language and tone that comprised the Edge review. Overall the review was positive, but several comments revealing a particular bias slipped through the cracks. Not to mention that the final score did not seem to match the impressions in the writeup. It is obvious to any remotely impartial viewer what was going on there and Edge was rightly c...
Yes, the vast majority of scores are in the 9s. Who cares what a bunch of inconsistent, harsh, attention-seeking, gaming journalist wannabes say about the game?
It's not because it is American. The Japanese just have very particular tastes in games and the 360, so far, hasn't really won them over. The PS3 is doing better, but still nowhere near as good as the Wii and DS.
Nice scores for Halo Wars and Killzone 2.
Personally I am most looking forward to Killzone 2. Halo Wars is really good for an RTS, but RTSs have never really been my thing. I might make an exception for this one though. Come on Microsoft, I want to see more from Alan Wake. That is one 360 game that I am really looking forward to.
Wow, the PSP is doing very well in Japan. Even beating the Wii by a significant margin. And not too far away from the previously untouchable DS.
If you look at it globally though, it is nice to see that all consoles seem to be doing pretty well.
Who cares who sells more? The PS3 and Xbox 360 are both good consoles (the Wii is ok, but hasn't won me over yet) and it doesn't really matter who is selling more. All three consoles are doing very well this gen and that is nothing but a good thing for gamers.
Just to be clear, I'm not calling Oner an "idiot" or a "troll", because I know he isn't.
All I'm saying is that I think he might be pushing the issue just a little too much, given the fact that he surely can see that most of us are not having a problem with it.
It seems to me that Oner just happens to be an individual that is extremely sensitive to such things and that truly is unfortunate.
However, no matter what the case may be I ...
I know what you mean. The gun models are probably the best I have ever seen in a shooter. Even compared to Crysis, the gun models look more realistic. The reload animation shows off the models beautifully.
I agree. Thousands of people played the beta, so why was this never mentioned before? Why was it not a problem for all of those beta players, nor for all the reviewers who have played through the full campaign?
I can understand if you are ultra-sensitive to small delays, but to constantly pound away on the issue as if it is a major issue breeds nothing but negativity for the game. God knows that there are millions of fanboys of the other consoles that love to jump on the small...
Absolutely. I love the creative games released by Sony. PSN games like Pixel Junk Eden and Flower are exactly the kind of innovative games that I really dig.
"there is not one single shred of evidence that says that killzone 2...an fps...is worse than FEAR 2...another fps...not one...unless its an entirely subjective opinion, with zero credibility other than the reviewer prefers 'scary' shooters with half the visual fidelity..."
Ha, ha, so true. And it made me laugh.
Excellent post, by the way. I agree completely.
Yep, two of my friends recently bought PS3s in anticipation of Killzone 2.
I love the epic atmosphere in God of War games. This game is going to be so awesome.
