It brings just as much new to the table as Gears of War did, and it's an awesome game on top of that. The atmosphere, first person cover system and multiplayer modes are all introducing something fresh.

Personally, at least in terms of the multiplayer, I enjoyed the Killzone 2 multiplayer (beta) more than either COD4, Gears or Halo 3.

The campaign, too, seems really awesome based on the demo.

None of those have been confirmed yet, that I am aware of.

Based on what has actually been announced to be coming in the next year or so, I have to admit that the PS3 easily has the better lineup for my tastes.

If Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction do in fact make it out this year and are in fact exclusive, well the equation could change. But right now there is virtually nothing that I am looking forward to on my 360.

I like both my consoles (360 and PS3), but the problem I have with Microsoft's approach this time around is that they don't seem to really be bringing that many new and unique gaming experiences. How many new IPs has MS introduced? The only new IPs they have introduced that I care about are Gears of War and Mass Effect (both of which are technically third-party franchises).

Sony, on the other hand, has introduced quite a few new first-party IPs this generation. Games like Litt...

Nice score. Obviously some people are really going to love this. But after GTA4, I somehow am just not really interested in it. GTA4 received some of the highest scores last year, but I didn't like it that much. So I don't really know what to make of the positive scores for this content.

I wish MS would have put all that money towards creating an original IP. Oh well, those of you who this appeals to, enjoy it.

Sorry, but nothing I have seen from this game is very impressive at all. Plenty of other JPRPs have looked better to me: Lost Odyssey, Folklore, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, and Valkyria Chronicles all looked better.

That video you linked to did not show a lot of things going on at once.
Honestly, I can see no reason why the game should look so poor and run at such a low resolution.

Could still be a pretty good game though...

Wow! When there are games out there like Killzone 2 and Gears of War, it's really sad when developers can't even seem to get their games to run at a true HD resolution.

In the end though, I think things like framerate slowdown and screen tearing are more offensive than lower resolutions. I wonder how smoothly this game runs...

With such a low resolution you would hope and expect that it would run buttery smooth, with nary a torn frame in sight. We'll see.

I think Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles probably both look better than this game. Just my opinion though, and I haven't played Star Ocean 4.

I'd love for this to be true, but I have a feeling it is not.

Awesome stuff in there though, and I am sure most of this stuff they will eventually be able to achieve.

The Wii is a fad. It isn't built on sound gaming fundamentals (like um...good games). And I think, like all fads, it will eventually lose steam.

POGs were really popular for a while and now how common are they? The Wii is not exactly the same thing, but it's not too different either.

I'm sorry. I love Nintendo and what they have done for gaming, but they haven't given me any compelling reason to buy the Wii. And that's disappointing.

I think you are exaggerating. COD4's campaign was pretty fun, but we all know that what really made that game shine was its online component.

I've seen both versions and I really couldn't tell the difference. And I am usually the kind of person that notices small differences. From what I saw, either version would be perfectly acceptable.

This game innovates just as much as any other shooter in modern times and more than most.

It is an engaging and finely honed shooting experience that offers a couple genuine innovations (FP cover system, multiplayer modes), all presented with the highest graphical fidelity that has ever been seen in a console shooter. What more were people really expecting?

Co-op would be nice, but I am perfectly satisfied with what the game offers already.

It has everything to do with the fact that the 360 has been out longer and has a larger install base. Many developers are more familiar with the 360 and they also believe that the 360 version will sell more copies.

So, what this results in is developers developing on the 360 and porting to the PS3. As we all know, the PS3 has a very unique architecture and requires games be developed in a certain way in order to effectively utilize the console's processing power. This can't ea...

BTW, Alan Wake is one of the games I am most looking forward to on the 360. The PS3 just happens to have more games that I am looking forward to this year.

It's getting nothing but good scores and yet you want to try and sit here and say it sucks? That makes you look really silly.

Yes, that was funny. Thanks for sharing.

People that act like they could have just put the content on the disc, simply know nothing about how these things work.

Development of any content takes time (obviously). Now, since that is the case it would have caused the game to be delayed and it's possible that the content wouldn't have even fit on the disc.

Besides, where does it end? You can always say there should have been more content and then the game would never come out. The developers at some point ...

The PS3 has just as much memory as the 360 (512MB) it just happens to be split between a very fast video memory and a somewhat slower system memory. The RSX has full access to any of the two memory pools. In addition, the Cell's SPE have their own L1 and L2 cache, which means the Cell often doesn't really need much system memory--its speed combined with the built-in cache is the reason.
