You sound like an idiot. What "animes" are you talking about?

I agree the article is flamebait, but where were you when the anti-Sony article from Destructoid was posted? ... That's what I thought.

I don't listen to what Sony or Microsoft tell me about their consoles, I go by my own first hand experience. The PS3 has the best-looking games out of all the consoles, and it also has the best technical specs on paper, so when you put those two facts togethe...

The difference is, Sony never had a federal anti-trust case brought against them that they lost.

Seriously, not all companies are the same. The common internet meme that all companies are after money and therefor all the same is pure bullsh*t.

You have low standards.

You never loved videogames before the 360? How old are you?...12? Are you really even a gamer?

How did this get approved? The same way all those ridiculous anti-Sony articles were approved.

At the same time, let's not pretend that all companies are exactly the same. Some companies are more ethical than others.

Microsoft is nothing like Sony --from the way they do business to the success of their consoles. Until Microsoft wins two console generations by a HUGE margin like Sony has, it is absurd to claim that they are the new Sony.

The PS2 has sold more than three times as many units as the Xbox and Gamecube. The Xbox 360 is barely outselling the PS3 and is far, far behind the Wii. So how again is it anything like Sony?

Until it has two of the most successful consoles i...

Like I said in the gamer zone, I have owned a 360 since it launched and there are only about 4 or 5 games that I care about on the console: Gears of War 1 & 2, Halo 3, Tenchu Z (not great at all, but I am a fan of the franchise) and Fable 2. Of course there are some good multiplatform games that I enjoy, such as Mass Effect, Bioshock, Dead Space and Assassin's Creed, but most of those I bought for the PC (except for Dead Space, which I bought for the PS3 because I got a good deal on it)....

I respect that. For me Uncharted would take the top spot, with MGS4 coming in a close second. Killzone 2 would be in the third spot, etc...

Sorry, but Dead Rising, Kameo and Crackdown are fairly average games to me. Not bad, but nothing that would make me want to buy a console. I have owned a 360 since launch and the only games I care about on it are Gears of War, Halo 3, Tenchu Z and Fable 2. Mass Effect would be on the list, but I bought the PC version. 4 games really isn't an impressive number after having owned the console for over 3 and a half years.

Anyway, I guess it just goes to show you that people's t...

Gears of War....the 360's only redeeming quality.

See? Anybody can make dishonest, douche bag comments. Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are two VERY good reasons to own a PS3, but there are lots of other great reasons as well. Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Motor Storm, Resistance and Ratchet & Clank Future are just a few of the other good reasons to own a PS3.

Anyway, Uncharted 2 is my most anticipated game by...

That's great. The developers have said that they have improved those issues and from the videos I have seen it certainly seems as if they have been improved. If it turns out to be true I will be very happy. I love Mass Effect.

Well, Xi, you consistently fall on the Xbox side of any issue, so I wouldn't expect you to be impressed with it. Needless to say though, I don't think very many people agree with you. Uncharted 2 won numerous "best technical achievement" and "best graphics" awards at E3 2009. Even Richard Leadbetter, who is responsible for all of those multiplatform face-offs at Eurogamer, expressed that he felt Uncharted 2 was the most graphically impressive game on consoles.

I agree with you. From what I have seen of it so far, id Tech 5 has impressed me a lot more than the Unreal 3 engine.

6171d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

The Unreal 3 Engine is a versatile and fairly powerful engine, but most of the games I have played that use this engine seem glitchy. Mass Effect, for example, looked pretty good, but it had quite a few technical issues such as texture pop-in, screen tearing and an unstable frame rate.

6171d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm sorry, but lots of games have textures on par with or better than Gears of War and other Unreal 3 powered games. Uncharted's textures, for example, are every bit as good as Gears of War's textures. In fact, with the way the lighting interacts with the textures I actually found Uncharted's textures more convincing.

I understand full well what a game engine does. And while the Unreal Engine 3 is certainly powerful and versatile, I don't think Kushan has done a good job of proving that it is the most advanced engine. I guess it depends on what criteria you are looking at. If by "advanced" he means versatile and easy to use, then I would agree with him. But I think a lot of developers would disagree if he means that it tends to produce the best results.

One thing that seems to be...

He didn't say it was made by EPIC games, he said that it uses the Unreal Engine 3, which it does.

Unreal Engine 3 is a pretty good engine. It has powered some great looking games and is apparently fairly easy to use. That said, I am getting a little tired of the way it looks. Hopefully this update can inject a little more life into the engine. I still hope to see a greater variety of multiplatform engines be used though.

It really isn't even the developer's fault either. At least not the way some people think. When a multiplatform game runs or looks a bit better on the 360 it is generally due to two factors.

One, the 360 is often the lead platform and the games are then ported to the PS3. Anybody that knows anything about porting knows that a port will almost always be slightly inferior.

Two, the PS3 has a unique architecture that can be extremely rewarding for those that put in...

My 360 has died on me 3 times and nearly everybody I know with a 360 has had it die on them. I have only one friend who has yet to get the RROD and he has only had his for a couple of months.

But you know, I guess I am not supposed to talk about it. It is a taboo subject. We can have countless articles repeating ad nauseum that the PS3 is in 3rd place (and for that reason is somehow doomed), but any articles discussing an issue that is still affecting countless Xbox 360 owne...
