Wha?...you mean you didn't know?
It's been out since...well, at least the 14th of April. If you're a fan, you may want to pick it up, mostly because of the online play (although it could use some refinement, such as some sort of communication feature - can't help but feeling really bad and rude when leaving an opponent without giving notice, even though it gives me no choice).
But for six bucks, you definitely can't go wrong if you've ever liked or played the ga...
Nah...just being nosy (and too lazy to sift through that fun-as-watching-paint-dry EULA agreement). :P
"Some users have been combining the first three letters of their clan tag with their username to create words that violate the EULA."
Can anyone provide an (expressed) example of what they mean? Are they referring only to profanity?
Regardless, BAN them cheatin' asses! I really can't relate to the thrill these guys get by removing the actual challenge from the game.
It's like playing Mortal Kombat in two-player mode by yourself, and ...
Didn't see that one coming.
"How about this.
We all chip in and buy Gears a brand new Playstation 3 so we could put an end to all his trollish acts once and for all!"
...or prescription glasses. Much cheaper, just as effective, and it'll help minimize the tainting of the PS3 pool.
Just...WOW.
Oh God...here's another one for the "must-have" list.
Uh oh...the house may not be getting finshed this summer, either.
(I can hear the krinkling of the Divorce Papers already.)
only if more females jumped into the gaming/PS3 scene. And yes, I'm well aware that there are a number of ladies who game (I haven't forgotten you, Karebear), but it's still overwhelmingly male-dominated.
And what fun is this sort of social interaction without a bit of estrogen thrown into the mix? It amusingly reminds me of those Hedonism resorts, where the idea is that "anything goes" between guys and gals. Problem is, I've read that the reality of these resorts ...
And just having now looked at my credit card statement, I can also confirm that Canadians can rest assurred that the prices listed on their PSN network are indeed in Canadian funds (I'm showing a charge of CN$6.34 for my MKII purchase back on the 14th.)
...Unlike some OTHER companies <ahem!>NINTENDO</ahem !>, who like to display and charge in our American neighbours' currency...INCLUDING THE FEDERAL/PROVINCIAL TAXES!!!...AARGH!!!!!
"...Almost every port so far has looked 100 times better on the 360 so there goes that."
Wow. A hundred times, eh? Gee, you may have a point, because that IS a lot, I suppose.
Aww, shucks...I wish you were around BEFORE I purchashed my PS3. Maybe you could have applied your aforementioned quantitative, scientific data to set me on the righteous path.
But alas, it is too late. I am now doomed...DOOOOOMED, I tell you!!!
I...
until I confirmed that the demos were actually available online.
Sadly, I went to the store, to discover that they're not. Hopefully any time soon, though...

Just thought I'd share an unrelated, but positive sidenote:
What HAS been just released, is the new Folding@Home update, version (1.1).
After visiting the store, I re-entered the Folding program, and was immediately prompted to dow...
"Yeah but if a Porsche dropped to the price of a fiat within two years people would buy it."
True...true indeed.
Furthermore, the price impact of the PS3 is further lessened by the fact that the price difference between Sony's machine and its competitor isn't as drastic as that between a Porsche and a Fiat.
...More like um...a normally-aspirated Porsche 911 (let's keep that one; I like it!), and a Chevrolet Corvette. At that point, the p...
Our Best Buys and Wal-Mart (Toronto area) still carry both formats, although that the burgundy-coloured section appears to be shrinking more and more, while the blue boxes continue to devour HD-DVD's place.
One thing that does stand out heavily in favour of HD-DVD, is that stand-alone HD-DVD players are currently SO MUCH cheaper than the Blu-Ray counterparts. I'm very, very surprised that they're not selling significantly more stand-alones than the Blu-Ray camp.

Yeah, the Facebook fad is the first thing that came to my mind as well. Here in Canada, all my younger cousins (who used to rave about Myspace) are now ALL about Facebook...and it just seemed to have creeped up overnight.
Sadly, you know you're getting old when you excitedly look up members from your high school graduation year ('93), and it turns up with no search results. :(
On the bright side, my year appears to be the current cutoff for oldness, because I do...
"... used to hate Sony and the ps3, but now that i have it, I have changed my whole perception on the console."
Yup, I agree. It's amazing how much the system eerily grows on you. I bought mine a few weeks after my Wii, which was all the rage for me at the time. Then slowly, over time, my poor little "Wii!", morphed into a "Wha?", as the PS3 consumed more and more of my free time.
And now my Wii is limited to web-browsing and weat...
Thanks for the wealth of info and feedback, guys. Bubbles for both your kind efforts!
Meanwhile, I'm convinced: my eyes remain peeled for the next available PES for PS3!
Judging from your avatar, I simply thought you got a kick out of wearing skirts. Though, who am I to actually judge.
OK, come clean now: You're really a 48-year old, sweaty, hairy truck driver named Bob, aren't you? :-P
Been a good couple of months since I fired that one up.
Is it me, or are the crowd animations in this video better than our version?
I've been an EA soccer (sorry, that's what we call it here in Canada as well) fan since before they started adding year numbers to the titles (1994?). But it's been getting a little long in the tooth for me over the past couple of years (gameplay-wise), and I've been really looking forward to jumping over to the more in-depth Winning Eleven series.
I was eager to get it for my PSP...but that was BEFORE my PS3. Does anyone know WHEN it's expected to be out for the PS3, and con...
Ummm...
I'll...be right back.
(Maybe!)
THREE MINUTES LATER:
OK, I'm back...which obviously means no N.G. demo yet, at least not here in Toronto. :(
(Back to Folding for now...)
some common sense...very well-worded, and excellent analogies.
Bubble-up for your wise words, my friend.
