was Costco's initial attempt to include Genji as part of their PS3 package. Needless to say, that didn't fare too well. (what were they thinking???)

At least they remedied that by changing it to Rad Racer.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any bundles which included no-brainers RFOM or Motorstorm....perhaps they get the 'other' titles on the cheap?

I also liked Sony Europe's decision to include Casino Royale with initial PS3 purchases. Gotta admit, th...

I'm running it on a 53" Hitachi projection...it's just the split-screen's limited peripheral vision that drives me nuts!!!...but I guess it's just me...and my brother-in-law...oh, and my friend.

BTW: I had originally purchased a Toshiba 61", but had to send it back when the delivery guys couldn't clear the spiral staircase's upper landing. ;)

Although I can definitely hear the fan (if I try to), it isn't by any means loud or distracting.

This guy makes it to sound like a 747 engine. My two PC's I'm currently sitting by, with their (1...2...3...4...) combined seven fans make a helluva lot more noise than the quiet 'whrrrr' of a PS3.

My PS3 has been on non-stop for at least a week, most of which just folding away.

I've gotta say how impressed I am so far with the build-quality of the unit. I've heard before how processor-intensive Folding@Home is...I can't help but do the occasional spot-check to see how much heat is being expelled from the side grill, and surprisingly, it's not very much at all. The unit itself stays amazingly cool.

What DOES worry me (a LITTLE less after reading this arti...

I commend you for being able to beat it in co-op mode!...not so much for the exponential increase in difficulty (I could swear they throw ten times more enemies at you)...but for being able to stick through it without going blind!

Man, I played co-op mode only a handful of times months and months ago, and I've STILL got tunnel vision and migraines from that disturbing side-by-side split screen!...oh, how I wish they threw in a top/bottom option...

No! No!..Oh boy, talk about misunderstandings!...

I'm sorry, but what I meant was that you may be the exception to the general majority's acceptance/desire for violence...NOT that I wanted to hurt you.

Rereading my comment, I can see how you interpreted it the way you did. Again, sorry, but rest assured that my reference to you had absolutely no malicious intentions whatsoever!...If anything, please take it as a compliment.

You can't just buy it internationally (i.e., Ebay) and have it shipped to you?

I'm not immediately familiar with your region codes, but there must be a source somewhere, no?

But I suppose it's no different than watching a slasher horror flick, a gladiator movie, attending boxing/UFC match, or even watching CNN.

It's in us to be curious about, and attracted to, violence. Admittedly, I'm guilty of being one of them. However, the last thing I'd EVER want to do is emotionally or physically hurt anyone without merit, or actually be on the receiving end of such a situation.

I'm speaking in general terms, of course...there are a always ex...

True.

Sales will indeed be hampered by the omission of the UK market, but sales may very well skyrocket in any other market where the game is not banned specifically as a result (despite - and mostly due to - it's immoral reputation.)

Speaking at least for myself, this announcement has definitely gotten me curious to see what all the fuss is about. I'm now actually considering giving it a go, whereas I would've otherwise pretty much ignored the game.

and wait for Super Mario Manhunt!

It's been a long time coming, to finally be able to see some blood and guts spilling out of those pesky turtles!

I think it's due to be released some time late next year, isn't it?...shortly after Zelda: The Taoru Village Massacre! ;)

Controversy and ban = game success.

Ironically, I think the BBFC has just single-handedly catapulted the demand for, and popularity of this game.

Man, never did I expect THIS!

You guys have absolutely floored, stunned and humbled me all at the same time!

It's interesting that those who've come to my rescue, mostly consists of the same guys who's posts I enjoy reading, and often share my opinions.

I'd just like to make it clear that I've got absolutely no issues with people disagreeing with me...matter of fact I get a rush out of level-headed, substantiated debate. I'm just sick of these min...

This article is dated April, 2007, and is therefore outdated.

more specifically:

"..,the PS3...can't (or should I say, doesn't) upconvert DVDs. Perhaps this is something Sony will add in the future, as the power is certainly there."

...among other outdated facts.

How did this old article get trickled in???

EDIT:

Ahh, I see the Bubble Monsters are still lurking in full force!...So be it; you're...

I used to be a report analyst for NPD Canada (formerly International Surveys Limited (ISL), and rest assured that VG Charts isn't deemed competition.

Rather, it was AC Nielsen in particular whom they kept at very close watch.

At least at the time, NPD generated revenue by collecting quantitative sales information via various means (POS terminals, ongoing consumer-based purchase surveys). The collected data would then be compiled, interpreted, and sold to their c...

but it's the old "chicken or egg" thing:

It's arguable as to whether the PS3 relies upon Blu-ray's success, or vice-versa.

Personally, I don't think that the PS3 will be affected should the Blu-ray medium not catch on, because the PS3 will always benefit from the disc's greater storage capacity - even if it's the only machine using it. It would just become another proprietary medium (such as with Nintendo's Gamecube discs, or the endless variety of old...

so early in the PS3's product life cycle is already a complement in itself to Sony.

Honestly, I didn't expect to see PSN maturing as quickly and aggressively as it is. They've got the camera; They've got the headseat.

All I'm looking forward to - for the moment - is an on-demand XMB.

Personally, my all-time intro favorite still remains to be that one that opened up with Blur's Song 2 (FIFA World Cup 98???)...and oh yeah: the one with Chumbawamba's Tubthumping!

Ahh, good times, good times, indeed!

I dunno, but all of EA's footy offerings as of late, come across to me as stagnant and uninspiring.

PanixATK: I'm with you all the way regarding PES. I've never gotten deeply enough into it (only briefly once or twice at my brother-i...
