it's an extremely Americanized game, as proven by those that hype the game up to be this awesome thing.

I don't expect it to do nearly as well anywhere outside of the US. Obviously, the XBO numbers will be lower than 360 or PC because of install base, but even then, I can't imagine much of an increase in hardware sales and certainly not more than double what it did the week prior to even match the worldwide sales numbers that the PS4 seems to be reaching so effort...

@The_Infected:

Simply by looking at the install bases of the XBO compared to the PS4 alone, I can tell you that would be a hell of a fight.

Infamous is the PS4's most anticipated game this month. With over 6 million units sold, I can see it gaining an audience quickly. I'm sure it'll sell more than Killzone did, which was just over 2 million units. Considering that's over half of the XBOs install base of just over 3 million, I can't imagin...

If any game were to be "filmified" and be a success, I would imagine this one to be it. Zombies are still the most popular fictional monsters in cinema currently (even though they aren't really zombies in the traditional sense).

I would also like to see Uncharted 2/3 and God of War III, but I can do well without, considering Hollywood could easily destroy them.

Yeah, for sure :/

This Layden guy is a 15 year vet in the company, which sounds like a lot until I realize that's only 1999. haha

Still, he's been in there for a while - before the success of the PS2 so hopefully he's as humble as Tretton was.

Damn it! My fellow Bostonian is no longer at the top! Time for me to step in hehehe

We're in our 8th generation of video games consoles. If these two consoles would've had any sort of trouble delivering a crisp and clean-looking platformer, I would have questioned life as we know it. haha

@Jokes:

I like your spin, mainly because it's just a few paragraphs of you jumping way out of context.

That's like me responding to you by saying that all Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby and Donkey Kong games would be superior on PC due to the power of the hardware.

While that may be true, that's not the context in which the discussion was started.

Simply put, we have two main points here:

I've been trying to afford a PS4 since launch but haven't had any luck due to current finances (moving out on my own following college graduation)!

Hopefully I get my chance here!

Sony was pretty mild with their estimations for the fiscal year, which shows that the PS4 is more successful than even they thought.

Instead of reaching 5 million units by the end of month, it sold 6 million by the beginning of March. Way ahead of schedule.

Great news. While some might be seeing this as reason to begin more console hate, I see this as more developers on board. AKA, more games!!

No doubt the game will do well for the Xbox One when it launches, but system seller? Most likely not.

Ignore the fact that it's on PC for a moment and look at the other platform it's on: Xbox 360

With no major graphical leap and a much smaller and less popular online community than the predecessor, I see no reason as to why anyone would buy a $500 machine to play a game that their friends are probably playing on the much more favored console (however ...

As soon as I saw the milestone it had reached, I knew this wasn't gonna be just some mild success for Sony...

Over 5 million units? Sold THROUGH? The PS4 hasn't even been available in both NA and EU for THREE MONTHS. Less than three months and it hasn't even launched in its home country?

Those figures are unfathomable. It managed to reach the sales figures of Nintendo's newest console from 2012 in under 90 days.

Think about th...

What's most pathetic about MS' latest attempt is that the gamers would be getting the bad end of the bargain by doing that.

Essentially lose your PS3 and buy an Xbox One for $400...

Or KEEP your PS3 and buy a PlayStation 4 with the same $400.

In what universe does the first deal seem more appealing? Its almost February and Microsoft has yet to sound smart about anything involving their new platform. It blows my mind to think that, eve...

We also never saw the Wii's motion controls to catch on, and despite the console itself basically being dead in the water by the beginning of 2009, still sold just over 100 million units.

3rd Gen Surprise: Nintendo saves the industry/consoles become preferred over arcades

To be honest, Yusuf may not have been lying.

Do I personally believe that Xbox Ones are selling like hotcakes, or anywhere near what PS4 is pulling? Absolutely not. In fact, I think that the gap is only going to widen as the holidays progress, and I don't ever see the XBO surpassing the PS4 in worldwide sales. The best chance MS had at being Sony was last gen with the 360, and even then they apparently still lost.

But PR is a work of sneaky bullsh*t, and ...

The madness is real. Being a gamer that grew up along side the PlayStation in the 90s (I started on NES), I can't remember the last time I heard so many people around me talking about PlayStation. I hear it everywhere now, I feel like I'm 12 again (that's about how old I was when the PS2's rapid rise to fame began).

LMAO - Their body motions when they run into the HDTVs being displayed was hilarious in the second vid. They all ran into it as if to say: "PS4!! PS4!!! TV? No, f*ck that - Oh, there they are!" runs to PS4s.

The craze wasn't only in across the pond last night, either.

I had the unfortunate duty of working the Black Friday shift for my store at the mall (we opened at 8PM Thanksgiving and I stayed until 7:30AM...), which is relatively close to the Gamestop there.

Once the crowds finally died down to a manageable level at around 5AM, the Gamestop manager - who I'm good friends with - came in for a drink. We started talking about the exhausting night we'v...
