@Death:
I think you misunderstood the argument at hand.
I personally - and I think I speak for Hicken and others in this forum, as well - am not saying that the sales figures for the XBO will remain at zero if they launch in countries where they're currently not available.
I was speaking in direct response to the posters above who believe that in this territory EXCLUSIVELY - sales would somehow be improved for the XBO if MS were to launch...
Nah, they'll just blame it on Obamacare. I can see it now:
"Man kills son over video games. Obama mentioned the newest Nintendo PlayStation 4 in a commencement last year. Obama plays video games, and he supports murder! Obamacare sucks."
Ahh... so logical.
I just LOVE the argument about the XBO not being released in other countries.
Like the European population - in which both consoles are available - will suddenly buy more XBOs just because MS decides to launch it in countries that have nothing to do with the territory.
If the territory excuse is valid, XBOs would be sold out or outselling the PS4 in territories where they're both available, which they obviously aren't.
It's such a...
Wow, I never really noticed just how dismal the sales of the Wii U were. I knew it was bad when the PS4 surpassed it without breaking a sweat, but this console has to be one of Nintendo's biggest commercial failures ever.
They got lucky with the Wii. It was 2006, just before HD was anything absolutely necessary. It was something relatively new, while the other consoles were basically just doing pretty versions of things we've seen before. It was before the first comme...
Funny how I saw the link to this article as "Major Nelson on March NPD: "Th..."
Before even clicking the article, I said out loud "Bet it says 'This is a Marathon, Not a sprint."
BAM, nailed it lol. So predictable.
I know I'll be getting my Wii U sometime this summer if they drop in price a little more, and after I finally get my PS4, just for some of the exclusives.
Que "We Are The World"
-_-
I don't think the sales gap that the PS4 continues to extend on the XBO is even the most satisfying to Sony right now.
I think the biggest "damn right" moment for them comes from the utter silence coming out of the Microsoft camp.
After trash-talking all last generation and even saying that they'll "kill Sony" at E3 last year (which they obviously didn't - opposite, in fact), they're the ones lagging behind.
I agree. Although he refrained from the name-calling (most likely because he has to keep some sort of composure when representing a large company like IGN), he initiated the argument with his condescending reply to a tweet Joe made to reach out to his fans.
They were both slightly unprofessional. Joe with the name-calling and Dan with his "flaimbait" initial reply. If Dan had an issue with what he said in the video, he should've done so privately.
It's really impressive considering the consistency of AAA titles seem to be slightly farther apart than expected. But even with this, it shows two things that Sony has mastered this generation:
1. You can sell a good product if you believe in what it offers in value and fun.
2. This isn't the early 2000s... you don't need to constantly crank out games to keep people interested. Just make good games when you can, and the sales will follow.
...
I can understand why you'd expect Titanfall to look a lot worse on the previous gen console, considering that this sort of expectation is something we've grown up with as generations pass.
But to be honest, it's Titanfall. While the better version is obviously on XBO and PC, this isn't a very demanding game by any means.
Still, I'm super excited that the 360 version seems to be functioning just fine. I don't have any video game console...
I never got the chance to play it either. This is why I'm so excited for this! The fact that it's essentially a GOTY Edition of the game on the PS4 makes me even more anxious than I was when it first launched.
Now all I need is a PS4!

LMFAO!
Dude, you realize it's March this month, right? It's the end of the fiscal year, this stuff happens every year around this time, especially on the tail end of a major console release.
Yeah, some of these layoffs are fishy, but 90% of them are done due to re-evaluating a company's fiscal goals and budgets for the year.
Hard to imagine a multi-billion dollar conglomerate suffering because they're releasing some people... ...
@Bundi:
And the fact that the Xbox One isn't sold out in any of those 13 territories... really says something.
48 territories is a lot more, but what's the point of matching the PS4's availability when the XBO can't even sell through to the markets their in now?
I like this trend, and I hope this continues throughout this generation!
I always hated last generation's excuse to deliver similar experiences on both platforms. Seriously? Who benefits from something like that?
"We want you to look at both games and say 'I can't tell the difference'"
That's great, and I'm sure developers would love for that to be the norm, but if making the same title on separate platforms ...
Damn, Sony.
I don't know what they've been drinking while they developed the PS4's architecture and strategy but it has given them enough focus to stay on track and not even crack under pressure.
This past week was a big indicator of that with the release of Titanfall.
I'm also glad that the title will be making its way to Sony platforms, but I for one stand by what I said:
Whether Titanfall comes to PS4 in the form of some sort of "Special Edition" or Titanfall 2 comes to PS4 and PS3 with the same engine as the first game, I still think that the game looks very 7th generation and not at all the kind of game you would showcase if you wanna show your friends how powerful your new console is.
Doesn't mean it...
"There's a snake in my boot."
Woody
"It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning."
Vin Diesel
I'm sure it was just down to licensing issues, which really really sucks and makes it look like a stupid move on our side. And if there's really no issue involved, then that really would be a stupid move because a lot of people would be using this feature.

I just really hope that they announce why they had to go back on it and apologize because a lot of people were excited about this and to take it out without explanation would come off as somewhat rude.
