Seems like lots of resources are pulled of to work on... something. Wonder what this is all about? Maybe after MGS4, Resistance 2 and KZ2 they have to raise the bar on everything - so rather concentrate resources on more of the same?
Would make sense. Rather have 5 10 Million selling titles that 50 mediocre titles that total 5 million together.
MS was right on this one... 720p is the sweet spot this gen.
Seems like the bulk of games will be 720p 30fps, with some racing, sports and action titles going 60fps - with 576-640 resolution.
BC is not Downloadable Content remakes. So hopefully it does not mean that you can buy DL remakes of PS2 games... but that it actually means BC.
With the 40GB BC apparently ready to be released... could it be that they made some breakthrough with the BC? Then the old model is not really needed? Hope so. I have the Euro 60GB model - BC works great.

The GetAway (1st one) is one my favorite titles. Was really looking forward to this one. Please reconsider Sony!!!
Good to see it do well. My kids loved the art direction. And finding the treasures. My boys are at the age where treasure hunting is a selling point in any game. Hopefully the will be an Uncharted 2.
Despite the resolution debate, it actually looks good - so the resolution debate is not much of a factor.
The gameplay seems to work out - does it have a 2 player mode? If so - then this will be good.
Storyline they say sucks. Is it important? Well - The GetAway Black Monday was better graphics wise (much) than the first GetAway - but the story in the first one had me playing the game much more. Seems like if you like MGS - then you won't like this one. If you like T...
Is the resolution good enough for what it is displaying on screen? Does it look good? Does it play good?
Then it really does not matter. Only for Empire Earth type games you will really miss the high resolution. For most action type games - if the framerate is smooth and the detail is good enough - then give it a rest.

When everyone else scores it 9.5+ and they score it 8.0, well then you have to ask. Especially when mediocre titles score higher.

Eurogamer / EDGE will give GOW2 10/10 and Resistance 2 8/10
First of - check the scores: Eurogamer - EDGE. So it is only one 8.0 score, not two.
All the others are 9.5 and up.
So Eurogamer / EDGE complain about long cutscenes that can be skipped? My - so you don't like the removable item - then why complain about it if it is not forcing you to sit through it.
Storyline too complex? Maybe Eurogamer is too simplex...

If MS was going to release a BR XB360 - then it should have been end last year. Now it will cause confusion - and it will be in the middle of this gen for them. The XB720 is most probably for 2010 with BR and Wii like motion controller and camera standard (called innovation by MS)
But BR this late into the gen is becoming more and more unlikely.
With a game this good, with a month before release access - it takes a bit of time to justify the 8.0 score that you decided to give it before you opened the box.
Preview after preview - must be damn hard to find the "bad" points to include in the review without revealing that you are being obviously biased against it. Poor reviewers and PS3 bashers. Must make them sweat to make this one look bad.
The "review industry" is in serious trouble imo.
Bias, under the table deals for exclusive first access, fiddling with some settings to make one platform look worse, using same platform video captures - but claim it is from two platforms - to make the platform that it was taken from look bad...
Some serious lack of credibility in the last year due to all this. This is just another drop in an already overflowing cesspool.
Nothing to do with the stand. It is a 20c piece of plastic that can be added no-problem. The specs of the cameras is not the same. They need resolution at a certain fps to be able to do this.
Oops... they posted the XB360 version screenshots... and there the XB360 fans went on slagging it on how bad it looks compared to the XB360 version...
Like the other day when the PS3 screenshots was used to prove how the XB360 had better collision physics... but forgot that the onscreen control guide gave them away.
One of the best titles. Better than COD4 or Army of Two imo.
