I still buy DVD's.
DL content is more or less DVD replacement... not for 50GB downloads...

Sometimes buy a couple of PS2 games as well... very cheap 2nd hand games is readily available...

What is new on this?

In the console industry the hardware is subsidized - loss-leader in the first two years of the hardware. Nothing new here.

All stats point to XB360 selling less, PS3 dominating it in all markets despite the XB360 now being cheaper than the Wii...

And yet... some try to spin it as PS3 / Sony "surrendering"...

Wow... just wow...

Big difference people...
GT5:P is just the basics implementation. It does the basics better than anything out there. It is just the preview of the basics.

Forza is the full game. It has all the frils done already. If you have to list the functions - then Forza wins by a mile - because most of that is not yet implemented in GT5:P. If you have to compare only what GT5:P does have - then it will win by a mile - because it does those things best.

Wait for the full ...

Just imagine... on the bus... akid whips out his DS... you open your PS3 portable... push him of his seat in the process...

Hey Sony... with the slimline PS3... please release as laptop... with Linux, Firefox, OpenOffice pre-loaded. It will make a great laptop replacement...

The controls was good - don't see what the whining was about. The game itself is beautifull. The environments was great - the gameplay was above average. But the damn interfere as you go that keep on changing your missions every minute - that killed this game for me. It was like having a backseat driver who just would not let you go on and play the game - who controlled everything except for the controller.

They should patch the game and give the player the freedom to play it fo...

Heck - here in South Africa all the above options sounds amazingly good offers. Here it is common to get only 500MB to 3GB - and not very fast.

DD is stuffed over here that is for sure. It is actually cheaper and faster for me to drive to the shop and buy a DVD than download a pirate copy.

Come on kids... get at least more than two braincells firing...

90% of games are small. Not 50GB monster content. How big was Warhawk download? How big is most of the downloadable games? How big is the demo downloads?

Most games will be downloads. That is a given. Why buy a PS2 size game when download is possible in 10 minutes? Most games will be around 3 GB - and that is OK for downloads. But the monster titles of 50GB - 200GB which will still be around will be reta...

Very few problems reported about the PS3. And we don't know of someone with a broken PS3 - send back to get the next one broken out of box or break in the next week. XB360 this seems to be the norm...

Very popular news item... must be desperate people to get on to a PS3 error...

It is just a small warning to MS from Intel...
Like MS did with Intel many years ago...

Intel started looking at OS and software development...
MS was not impressed - as their view was that they do everything from the metal up in the Wintel duopoly. So they made Windows NT 3.51 for RISC CPU's. Intel dropped the development... and MS dropped NT for RISC CPU's. Ten years+ later... we see Intel testing the waters again... maybe because MS is investing heavily in CPU deve...

Simply because they are losing market share. They cannot magically make the RRoD go away - they can only deal with it. And since they have Billions to throw into the fight - losing another Billion is not going to stop them from trying to maintain momentum. They want to get market share - and they will "pay" another Billion or two to acieve it. They know they will lose this round also - but they are just trying to get more market share - and to try and protect the Home Media Center m...

GT5 has the best graphics for any racing game. GT5:P is a bit short compared with GT4, but hey - this is just a taste of things to come.

I am sure XB360 owners will enjoy PGR4 and Forza 2. But if there must be a best in terms of graphics - then PD owns all. Good work all around. I don't think the fact that GT5:P has such great graphics should detract from people enoying the other games on their platforms. Little bit of envy maybe - but all three games rock. Good work from all the...

Keep in mind it is just a Prologue to the full game...
It is quite short...
The game modes is very limited...
No tuning options like in GT4...

And even with it being not much more than a tech demo in reality, it is still great to play it. You play it to watch the replay. Don't buy this if you want to compare it to the gameplay modes of GT4 or Forza. Buy it if you are having GT withdrawal symptoms and want to see what is coming in the full version.

Consumers reading about HD-DVD death - and the firesale that followed will be wary of XB360 - because XB360 = HD-DVD and PS3 - BR in many consumers minds. They will conclude that since HD-DVD died, price drop firesale to get rid of last stock - now XB360 is dropping in price below the Wii - then it must be getting rid of the stock...

Bad move by MS - it makes them look desperate...

It would do fine with the normal price point - maybe even better...

One shop was already sold out.

On the game itself - did notice some screen tearing... not much...
The game itself is very short.. if you try to just make it through.. Already through Class C & B. It clearly does not have even a quarter of what GT4 has in terms of gameplay - but it sure looks good.

Handling was very easy if you have the physics not on pro. Maybe that is the handling that some noticed and though that the physics model was basic. The install p...

The games are so close - trying to nitpick either way is sooo stupid.
COD4 played great. Army of Two was good. Assassins Creed was good. Oblivion was good. Heck - every one of the cross platform titles are good enough on both to not notice the difference if you don't run it side by side with the intent on finding something - anything - to favor the one over the other. And it goes both ways. I will even wager to say that GT5:P - being the best looking racer out there - but if you were pl...

And I thought I would be able to walk in the store and buy one... Now the pre-orders cleared it before it hit the shelves! And the two games stores that I go to both have the GT5:P posters at the entrance. Guess it will be up for some time until the new stock that will actually make it to the shelve arrives.

At $50 - it is a very good upscaling DVD player. And with the HD-DVD titles going cheaper than DVD - at better quality - get them. It is not milk - it will not expire next weekend. Chance to pickup a really cheap DVD player that can play some of the dirt cheap HD titles... if you don't have a DVD player (young first time buyers) pick up this give-away.

It is like Porsche going out of business and selling the 911 at the price of a Beetle. So what if Ferrari won the war?
