In the last gen, the cheapest console outsold the rest, followed by the most expensive one, and the middle cost one last.
(PS2, XBox, GC)
This gen seems to be the sam, just order totally jumbled, but the same principle applies..
(Wii, PS3, XB360)

Last gen the cheapest one owned the market totally in terms of marketshare, and the other two was within spitting distance. Early this gen - but at the moment if the XB360 can hold on to the US, then the result could be...

If they release too early - then they will be up against a very high selling PS3, and when the PS4 is released (2-3 years later) - they will be faced with being "old" while still being squeezed by the PS3 which like the PS2 will be very cheap and very good value.

If I was MS - first - yes - but not too early

The Wii established that consoles that follow after it will use wand motion controllers. Like the first arcade games brought the Joystick to gaming, the Wii brought the Wand Motion controller to the mass market. It will be standard now. Like Rumble became standard for controllers, and force feedback is the benchmark for steering wheels. It is here to stay. All the console makers now know that in this gen they will dip their toes in, but next gen it will be standard with some enhancements.

MGS4 is amazing. I had my copy since Friday. At Act 2 at the moment. It is not a FPS shooter where you rush in and shoot the dingus out of anything that move. You have to spend a lot of time crawling in the shadows, lying still, planning your next move.

The graphics is awesome. Maybe not as static pictures in screenshots - but in motion this game rocks. That is not to say that the static images looks bad - it is in fact great - more than great. But in motion it owns.

PS3 and XB360 will have Wiimotes before this gen is over. MS will call it innovation, Sony will point to their demo years ago, Nintendo will threaten to sue, Wii will keep selling (it was bundled - not add on so all Wii owners has one) and in a years time people will be fighting about the tech, which one is most sensitive / too sensitive... in general... live will continue

Good enough to say it is a must have game this gen

Only at Act 2. Can't get much time on it - my kids are enjoying this game a lot. For those who still wonder - go buy it. Best game so far on PS3.

They sure did have enough time to make this one great...
The original KZ is still one of my favorite games. For running and shooting, it is imo still better than COD4 or Army of Two. On par with R:FOM for replay value.

Hope they get all they wanted right with KZ2. Hope it is a jump as much as MGS4 was from MGS2/3

Will save me getting a Wii (was planning to get one end of the year)

There is just something about MGS. It just feels like it make other games look like... games.

Some people will first wait and see if it is that good. So far... (Only had the game for about 4 hours now) - it looks like it is it was hyped up to be.

Picked my copy up in South Africa a few hours ago... The kids only allowed me to play the first 10 minutes... All I will hear the rest of the night is....
Snake? Snake? Snaaaaaaake

It looks great - framerate is great, visuals is good - the gameplay is excelent. Looks like it was worth the first day buy. They only released it this afternoon. Guest this weekend it will be sold out.

The sales numbers are not even out and the troll sites are already going: :Slow selling... in the hope that it will slow down sales.

Same thing with GT5:P - news sites claiming it was not selling when it was doing good. Anecdotal statements without numbers to back it up... all credibility lost.

2/10
The physics of the driving is not to the standard of Forza. Really bad. We give it a 2.

They should know the XB360 graphics chip - so they should know if they can do it. Good going. Having this type of graphics on my cellphone will be great.

TheMART (Micrsoft Action Response Team) and buddies will be here claiming "washed out colors" on PS3... counting down: 3..2..1..

The three year warranty is effectively a recall. They expect each one back within three years to fix it. That is basically a recall without the negative press. Good move on their part really.

Cutting cost - paying on repairs and losing respect - that cost more than the saving - bad mover there.

Forza tries to be GT for XBox - and is doing good. Both are great games. GT more realistic minus damage at the moment... but damage will be there with the full release. If you have a XB360 - then I am sure you will be happy with Forza. They are really good enough both.

Thanks to the devs that made such awesome products.

MS says that BR is a failure... then what do you call their strategy to support the competitor to BR that lost against a failure? BS?

I like the Original Killzone
I hear many dissing the game, but imo it is better than COD4, Army of Two. More or less on par with R:FOM for me. I replayed most of the games, but the first KillZone is still good - play it on the PS3 (BC rocks - have a Euro 60GB PS3).

KZ2 seems to be shaping up nicely - but to be honest - will have to see it when it is released. There is not enough info to say how good it is. EDGE / Eurogamer will be baised against all PS3 titles as they prove...
