Software will always be hacked, and I'm afraid a hacked version of this title willo be out in a day or two at most.
If you want to stop it, it has to be hardware manufacturer that puts the effort in. Sony has done a good job on PS3 - still the only console not hacked for piracy despite the attempts of the webs best. Given the disaster of how the psp got hacked, its no suprise they raised their game for its bigger sibbling.
All you can do in code is make it harder, you'll...
Couldn't care less about DLC content on this game, and for the masses of people in consumer land deciding what to buy, I really don't see it will be much of a factor.
GTA games almost invented the genre of 'sandbox gaming' a gaming world so complete and fun, that you can spend more time just having fun in the world than playing through the missions. Though I appreciate some hardcore fans will certainly want to see everything there is to see, I suspect that many people, like me,...
What a pathetic article.
That Peter talks crap is not news to any us who worked with him, but the whole article is strewn with obvious and glaring mistakes which anyone with a search engine could correct.
'Let's look at Black & White, Bullfrog's first game that Molyneux made'
What? What planet is this guy living on? Peter left Bullfrog and made Black and White with his new company Big Blue Box. I know, as I was working for Bullfrog at the time.
Bullfr...
Unless you've been living under a shell you will have seen that EA's slice of the market is indeed falling and they are now getting beat in terms of sales revenues. This is a concern for them.
Having worked for them. I can attest that their reputation for slovenly ports and non invention is more than deserved.
'all your base are belong to us!'
Couldn't resist!:)
Edge magazine has always represented just about the best in video games journalism I've ever read. It is hugely respected by all the UK development houses and seen as the pinnacle of games journalism by everyone in the industry.
They achieved this reputation by making their reviews based on what they thought, and not based on hype or what others are saying or how many feebies a dev house has given them.
I can't always say I've agreed with every review, but they are well abo...
Why is this reported as news?
It's plainly labelled as a paradoy on the host site, and its prettyt stupoid to be offering it up on this site as news awhen it so plainly isn't....
Even the contributer has appologised and asked for it to be removed.
Fit girl useed to advertise product shocker!!!
What will marketing ever think of next??!
<sarcasm mode off>
@Chris_GTR1 & ChrisGTR1
Get your multiple accounts off here you troll!!!
The system is put in place to keep you muppets from completely hijacking a thread with your nonsence, and I can see from your accounts and the number of bubbles that you habitually make troll posts..
Hopefully a mod will see your account abuse and do something for a change...
Have to disagree with you!
The difference has to be quiet substansial for me to want the 360 version over the PS3 version. I far prefer the six axis (360 controller gives me hand ache for extended play time)- and I often play late at night when my wife has gone to bed, so the volume has to be down. With the kind of racket the 360 makes, I can barley hear the game, and in this situation the quite whirring of the PS3 is far more palatable!
However, there so many god awful shabby ...
What a useless article for me!
I was attracted by 'XP user reluctant to upgrade because of concern over performance,'
That statement led me to believe that the benchmarks would show comparisons between XP Vista and Vista SP!. But thats not the case, theres is no information of performance with releation to current XP performance... Bah! :)
What 'high concept' is he talking about?
Its an FPS - a hopelessly overcrowded market, and you want some kudos in that genre, you've got to do it good. They didn't. The weapons are simply not fun, and the controls don't feel good.
Yes mate - I've been saying it for ages. The weekly attach rate for PS3 has been higher than the other machines for over 3 months now, and its getting plainer and plainer to see.
I'm not making any kind of fanboy statement, I own all the machines and I'm happy for all of them to succeed, but the myth purported by 360 fanboys that no PS£ owner buys software is obviously and demonstrably wrong. Each and every week, the average PS3 owner buys more games for his system than any...
Sure - I'll explain.
Its actually very simple. People talk about 'software attach rates'.
This is simply the number of software titles sold per machine.
So, if you have weekly software sales figures, and the figures for how many machine have sold in a systems lifetime (often refered to as the 'installed base') you can work out the atatch rate for that week by:
dividing the total software sold, by the installed base
Its often...
so you can't read then?
'The high-definition video game device is beating its closest rival -- Sony's (NYSE:SNE - News) PlayStation 3 -- in hardware and software sales.'
Thats what the article says. Lets face it, its not true. Hardware wise, the PS3 is out selling the 360 in all territories - even the 360 US stronghold. Software wise its also suprisingly being outsold in Europe despite having a bigger install base, and if you look at weekly attach rates via a sit...
Absolutely - good comment!
I find it rather funny when people say that MS games division is a profitable one. :)
I'm registered as a company myself now: If I lose money for 50 weeks of the year, but then earn a profit for the last two weeks of the year, I could not call myself a profitable buisness. My bank manager would laugh me out of the bank.
Once Microsoft gaming has earnt back the 7 billion its lost to this point, we can surely call it profitable, but not ...
Well I never thought I'd see it.
Microsoft must trully be running scared if they have to answer a simple opinion piece on a web site. The article basically said the games are almost identical and we prefer a six axis to control a couple of them. What about that warrants such an MS rebuttal? Big brother getting annoyed it doesn't control the press as tightly as it used to?
Whats next, is uncle Bill gonna post rebuttal comments to opinions expressed on N4G?? Now th...
He may look suspiciously like Alan Partridge (UK readers will know), but he gives a good interview, and I found this article reasonable enlightening.
I do love little downloadbale oddities...and it looks like i'm going to get plenty more, hurrah!
Don't see why people are making such a big deal of the 'drug' in Haze.
Bioshock was universally praised (and rightly so), but had you shooting drugs throughout rhe entirity of the story. No one made a big deal out of that...
Software totals for the two protagonists are interesting reading again:
360 - 323,006
PS3 - 313,844
so this weeks attach rate:
1.84% of 360 owners bought a game
2.91% of PS3 owners bought a game
It been this way for over 3 months. Only the delusional and blind claim that PS3 owners don't buy games. They continue to buy more than other platform owners do, despite the myths often purported on this, and other sites.
