I didn't see a need to doubt the target renders we saw.

Both Killzone2 and Motorstoer have taken flak for using target renders when they were first announced, but in both cases the results are pretty close to the targets.

"Does anyone know 100% for sure that its fps/tps"
Absolutely we know for sure. You should watch the sony conference where it was announced and some details were given.

As an idea, it became a little more fragmented by their decision to have 360 models with no hard drives - limiting the abillity of machines to act as PVR's. I believe the standard for digital transmission in the states is a little confusing too, and limits the ability of a tuner that can be compatable with all the broadcasting.

Sony's similar system is planned for Europe, where there is an agreed standard for the digital broadcasts, so the twin tuners will be compatable with ev...

I think their should be a short spike in US sales for the 360. The cut isn't much, but if you want it you need to get it straight away before supplies of the old model disappear, so the spike should only be for about 6 weeks.

I personally believe their should have been a permanent cut in prices to reverse the trend of the Ps3 outselling the 360 in the states. I think we can all agree that Japan and Europe are pretty much Sony territory, so its important for the 360 to maintain ...

For me - the N64 was an excellent machine and I STILL play some of the great titles it brought me.

But a company does not exist to satisfy my needs. It needs to make money, and the N64 was a flop in terms of market penetration and making any money and was widely seen as a business disaster and the beginning of the end for Nintendo. Gaming heaven or not, doesn't enter the equation for shareholders and those responsible for running the company, its about cold hard cash.

@ charmers

Your assertions are plainly ridiculous.
Equating a higher resolution with a better game experience is for the intellectually challenged. If you wish to stand by that argument, then would have to concede that that the 20 games I play on my PS3 at 1920 x1080 native rendering are all vastly superior to anything you play on your machine. Take Gran Turismo 5 at native 1080P - obviously vastly superior to anything your playing as its at a higher res...The argument i...

Valid point mate, a lot of people will be prepared to pay for the convienience.

But most of the popular emulators on PC require a simple click and have a full GUI front end with pictures and information to help you choose which old game you wnat. Couldn't be simpler.

"isnt videogamer.com very anti-ps3?"

always appeared that way to me, yes.

But they are quoting a small snippet of one producer who sounds like she's doing her best to be 'politic' about it all. Hard to be sure without hearing the question and the entire response.

Only way we'll know the truth is when more objective observers have had a chance to play the PS3 code.

This game was simply awesome on the 360 and one of the best gaming experiences I had last year. It trully deserved the remarkable scores it got.

It great to see a developer take the time to polish an already excellent title and make it even better on a new platform. It may have taken a while for it to reach the Ps3, but it looks like there are some pay offs for being late to the party. Its looking so good I'm considering getting it on Ps3 too and have another play through... :)...

Actually I play all my games at 1920 x 1080 on a 40 inch screen

Most titles are upscaled of course but the machine does brilliant upscaling. Many of my favourite titles on the platform are some of the superburb PSN games, the majority of which are native 1080P games.

So I actually play all my games on the PS3 in a higher resolution than you do on your 'superior' and many times more expensive PC.

..and get some new equipment dude - a monitor limited...

Whats your point dude? The Ps3 costs less in its entirety than many 'high end' graphics cards and is tailored to deliver graphics at HD television resolutions maximum.

I could buy a cray super computer that makes your PC look pathetic - so what?

Whilst I happily agree Kojima has always favored Sony products, he's actually not on their payroll at all and works for a company that can, and does, choose which platforms to publish on, so you...

One word - emulation!

I play all old systems on my PC and have an archive of every single game for every single system - even machine I never heard of at the time.

If you'r not completely mad for it - just grab MAME and you can play the real arcade roms from your fave machines of the past - many thousands of titles for that one emulator alone.

Its a good game, just not a brilliant one.

Given the long history of waiting for it, it had lots to live up to.
But prehaps an even greater burden, its has long been held up by theose embroilled in the 'kiddie wars' as a brilliant exclusive 360 title that would pawn all and be a super desirable game that would make owners of inferior games systems jealous.

Given the silly expectation levels, it could never live up to expectations. However, if you take it f...

Thats a lot of revenue and a lot of units.

Of course it sounds like consumers made a choice. But most of these sales will be in cases where the consumer was forced to accept vista as they were not offered anything else - it comes with the machine.

I guess I'm a core PC user, and as such, I resent an over bloated operating system hogging too much of my resources just so that it can offer some extra multimedia functionality on the off chance I might want it. I want my ...

In reply:

Flash runs on the client machine though, so its not an example that demonstrates what your article is proposing at all.

This is what happens what an accountant thinks he understands games hardware.

The model of a huge central server serving 'dumb terminals' is so very 1970's. It still existed back when I worked for IBM, but was gradually replaced by 'distributed processing' as the concept of personal computers took hold and the economics made it viable.

There are a million disadvantages to centralized processing, which is why the entire business world moved away from that model, a...

I'm sure the site is fine, but posting the launch of such as a site as news is very tenuous and I don't believe its newsworthy.

by all means post links to the story's it publishes, but I don't want N$G clogged up with news of site launch. theres enough dreadful submissions getting through the system as it is without allowing blatant advertising.

Regrettably I shall be reporting it, as I don't believe this is a valid story.

They are the ones that brought their sex into their gaming!

How many games sites do you know where sexuality has anything at all to do with the subject? Been to 'Heterosexual gamer' recently? Or that other great site, 'Transsexual shootemup fans'?

I thought not! They are the ones bringing sexuality into it... so you can expect a bit of ribbing.
Keep the self righteous posturing for a place that genuinely needs it...
