Kotaku is pretty pathetic.
Read the extremely well written and balanced piece of journalism from 'the Edge' that was posted on this site earlier, and contrast the two articles.
I certainly know which article I preferred reading and which one gave me more valuable insight...
Splash out on a new drive gents - you know you want it!
I had a 60gig machine, but I've got a lot of the downloadable PSN games already, a ton of extra singstar songs, extra questions for Buzz and a few installs so I was using 50 gig already even without having any media onboard - and I really wanted the full 'Siren' game which is 10 gig!
For just over £50, I dropped a 320gig drive in there and now I've all the room in the world! :)
My only advice is ...
Without commenting on the merits or otherwise of the service, I do find it amusing that the main thrust of his argument is that free= advertising, yet live is NOT free and still has advertising.
Online has long been seen as a revenue stream for MS, and thats not ever gonna change. If your happy to pay for it, you get plenty for your money. If not - you have a choice.
Who lets these kids have a keyboard, or even worse, post an article?
This is a prime example of how internet journalism is so often completely devoid of thought, meaning or intelligence.
I'm sure I don't need to point out the benefits of competition or choice or diversity to any of you on here, as most of you will be older than 12....
Another stupid reactionary BULL article from joystick who seem to completely ignore this statement made very clearly:
"Today we have another update on some of that new content: BioShock PS3 will have a new, harder difficulty called Survivor Mode."
Its just another difficulty level, and its just one bit of the 'new content' that this version can expect.
If this were all, I'd be disapointed. But it isn't. So Joystick are turds! Discuss :)
...
Hell yeah.... that game was great.
I'm old enough to have had a childhood devoid of computer games - there were no home computers! When I joined 'Computer class' at age 14 to play chess against the computer, it consisted of this:
Code your move by puching holes in a punch card.
Send your punch card by post to the university which had the only computer.
The computer read the punch card and replied with its move by printing its own punch card , which ...
Another wonderful piece of journalism!
In a world dominated by the 'lowest common denominator' its inspiring to read an article crafted by a serious journalist.
As for the game, it seems its achieving all we could hope for. Such ambition is often a games downfall, trying to do too much instead of concentrating on the core experience, but this game truly has the power to shift expectations.
Can't wait to play and create.... :)
The only worthwhile comment of the article:
"it’s clear to me that the Wii is a phenomenon — one that will likely continue with or without the support of the hardcore gamer."
Thats is without a doubt the funniest ever press release for a video game I have ever seen.
I'm sure the humour will fly over some peoples heads, but this is really priceless! :)
"I'm no.1 matahamatician! I have fully tapped the power of the PS3 which means you can hear the sounds through the headphones!"
Priceless!!!!! :)
He's quite right and you wouldn't expect him to say anything else even if he wasn't right - he's an MS employee!! :)
None of the machines have reached the full potential of what their architecture can achieve, though I firmly believe the architecture of the 360 and the use of known development tools has helped developers to utilise its strengths quicker in the cycle than its main rival. But there's surely more in there to 'tap' still, and enterprising developers will use that e...
I'd like to think Killer Instinct 3 would be a great title, but MS is pretty keen on using rare to develop 'family' IP's, so maybe this might not happen?
I've not been blown away by Rare's output over the last few years, so I would genuinely welcome a return to great form! A much better Perfect Dark game would have appeal, and I'd be happy to see another Conker's game with the same great humor!
It will be enough for this year to try out the new Banjo game for mys...
The music is an integral part of the entire feel for the game.
Playing the title with a custom soundtrack would ruin the whole atmosphere so well created by the developers. They were 100% correct to ensure people couldn't play daft hip hop tracks whilst playing this game....!!! :)
You want to see a list of top selling psp software? Can you not do your own research or are convinced it doesn't sell anything?
How's about software thats sold more than 1 million units? Theres 23 titles fit that catagory which is pretty amazing when you consider the extraordinary levels of piracy on the platform.
1 Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Rockstar Games 5,461 7.16 4.95m
2 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Rockstar Games 4,090 7.82 2.65m ...
Any one shocked by this news must have been living in a dream world.
His pop at 'home' is the kind of pathetic jab we've come to expect from these muppets.
WTF??
What are you blabbering on about? The singstar store has 350 titles on it:
http://www.singstargame.com...
If thats not enough for you, then nothing will ever please you, so please go back to your PS2.
Its a games machine, you troll!
People buy games on it. For instance look at last weeks top jap software sales:
1 DS Dragon Quest V 181,265
2 PS2 Powerful Pro Baseball 15 88,625
3 PSP The Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki the 3rd 43,682
4 PSP Gundam Battle Universe 41,372
5 PS3 Siren: New Translation
Two of the top 5 titles are PSP titles.
We all know piracy is a huge issue with the psp, but the f...
What a pathetic article - you can't compare an established product with one thats not available for testing!!!!
Sony have access to huge library of content and a quick flick through the singstar store shows just how many titles are available - many many hundreds here in the UK and I assume its the same now that you have the game in the states..
The 'Sing any song you wish' thing is utter' BS. It's merely a way to sing along to your music with the microphones. It ...
I can only add to the rest of your comments - this is a seriously addictive. It takes a little time before it grabs you, but it then becomes compulsive!
Thats just so amusing. You can tell he's going to talk cac from his picture!
His list of 'hardcore games' is pretty pathetic for a two year period and two consoles. It also contains hardly any hardcore games!
I've no problem with what Nintendo are doing, and for everyone playing and enjoying what the Wii offers, I'm trully happy that they are being entertained. I applaud what Nintendo have done for their buisness.
What does get right up my nose is the path...
Havok are a middle-ware company.
They sell their physics engine to all comers, its the fundamental cornerstone of their business.
If MS have paid a substantial amount, it will be for all the first party devs to use engine in all their titles, rather than the title by title payment that normally occurs.
This speculative article is obviously very uninformed. A company does not stop trading simply because it has one large contract
