It's a bit ugly aint it? not so sure I'd want that under my TV, I'll keep the one I have!
Get the sys board reflowed and install some proper xclamps and its pretty safe from rrod anyway!
The noise is a little issue, but the majority of noise from my unit is from the drive, so I don't see how the case could help there?

It's a pretty tenuous link! But I'm excited to hear we'll see more of this IP. I loved the first one, even if I did wish there were more save points, and I'd be delighted to play another Zombie fest on any machine it cares to appear on! :)

Ho ho!
"Unlike Sony forcing people without HDTV's to pay for a blu-ray player that they could have done without."

Some people like to buy a machine with capabilities that will last them for for a few years. Certainly , when I buy a PC, I don't buy one with specs that meet just my needs of today, but I try to allow for what I'll need in three years time so I can still use the machine then.

That was the difference in approach. HD TV already has a v...

Rationality eludes those that continue to suck on the corporate teat.
trying to have a rational debate with people like POG and Bangladesh is a waste of time - they are here merely here to hate on anyone who doesn't bow to their 'almighty'. Rational gamers who actually like games have no chance of a decent debate.

It's more than relevant to discuss the fact that the arcade pack does not have a hard drive. Its the one major thing (except for the price point) thats sets th...

I don't wish to be party pooper, but this IS just one store and even kotaku say "Might be that or just an Akihabara thing — or it could be that stores are making space for the 60GB SKU"

I'm sure the game is a selling a few units - I thought I saw that it lifted 360 sales to 5K units from its usual 2K weekly sales?
Though thats welcome, its hardly an earth shattering break through, and represetn less of a lift than other premium 360 exlusives in the country. Ac...

Didn't think this site could write any articles worse or more meaningless than the trash they have written in the last few days, but its obvious I was wrong.

When a man declares that all Mac purchasers 'have their head up their arse' and that PSP's are 'only used to watch porn', you know full well you reading utter trash with no thought or insight at all.

He then goes on to confirm that that they only write their rubbish to gets hits from the corporate frothers. ...

Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

In many ways I agree with what you are saying.

There are features of Live that are not to do with shopping. But as you pointed out, they are not unlike the forums, book lists video and music previews - they features designed to ensure you are in the market place.

If you look at the provision of the service, almost all the expense is in providing the backbone for digital sales and distribution.
Lets look! ...

Do you genuinely experience those issues with PSN?
I've never experienced lag on PSN myself, but I have occasionally on live?

I'm genuinely interested if people elsewhere genuinely have a problem, or if they are just trolling..

I see you convieniently ignored:

"The costs of any distribution system are met by the profit made on the goods that the system distributes - in 'lives' case, games and movies that are bought on the service."

Would you pay to access the apples 'istore'?

It costs amazon a ton of money to run and update their site on the net - would you be prepared to pay them for access to it?

Of course not! They pay for it out of the profits...

Once again Bruce trots out his corporate loyalties with another poorly reasoned and hideously one sided piece of prose masquerading as objective opinion!

"Continued investment is needed to keep going with the fantastic rate of enhancements coming from Microsoft. The money has to come from somewhere."

This particular statement is hideously amusing. He seems to ignore the fact that every other company offering an online service is doing it for free! Whils...

Nintendomination!

In the close fought battle for second - its interesting to note PS3 shifting more software in Europe now than 360.
Of course, this situation is reversed (and then some) in the US with the huge install base difference, but the argument that PS3 owners don't buy software has long since vanished, as they certainly do.

As for people bleating on about NPD when we are discussing European sales - I sometimes wander what planet they live on! <shakes h...

Hey - its a valid enough opinion, even it it is unnecessarily negative.

No one has ever claimed that KZ2 set out to revolutionize the genre. Its simply trying to be a great FPS shooter. You don't need to reinvent a genre to be a brilliant example of it. You don't hear people moaning about Forza 2 saying 'we've all raced cars round circuits before'.

Whilst I applaud innovation and new gaming concepts, I don't have to have them for a game to succeed for me, and th...

People already use the Ps3 as a full media server and it works great.
I use Tversity.

But streaming hidef live TV from your PC is a pain which invariably results in compression (at least it does if your doing it Wifi), and who wants to set up your recording and channels and operate a PC when you are watching telly?

No, this is a far better proposition for most people, and will achieve far higher quality. Still, if you merely watch bit torrent downloads thr...

Ignore La chance, he's always trying to pick a fight with someone. Anyone who doesn't kneel at the MS alter is automatically a 'fanboy' - and he's already got through at least one account where he lost all his bubbles 'cause he simply can't keep a conversation civil!

But if you do use the language of the troll, you can expect a troll conversation! :)

If the story was reported its because its a truly awful submission. A poor photo on an image hosting site is poste...

Whilst you may want to disagree with him on matters of personnel taste, its a good read and he makes some pretty valid points, many of which I agree with.

Especially his points on Fable 2, which is a title that a lot of people were excited for, but didn't get much coverage from E3. Like him, I was somewhat disappointed by the shortcomings of the original, but this time everything that concerned me looks like its been fixed, so this could well be my GOTY... I hope so anyway!

Owch! I figured it would probably get between 6 and 8, so I don't think many of are suprised?

If it hadn't been hyped as a blockbuster exclusive title for this year, it wouldn't be an issue - as its a fun title that will tick the boxes for many. But AAA it is not, and thats a disapointment for many as NG2 was also slightly off AAA qulaity (though again, there were many people who enjoyed.)

I DO like dungeon crawlers and had some fun with the demo, but I'm still o...

I hear you dude and you do have a point, But the vast majority of people who are not living in their bedrooms, have a Desktop PC no where near their TV, and their consoles set up in the main lounge, so for most peopel it IS a tangable bennifit.

My own house has an office room with three networked 'workstation class' PC's and large high res monitors, but I must admit, I hardly ever bother gaming on them. I much prefer to sit in my front room on a 1080P lcd and play 360 and Ps3 t...

Pc games have no idea on what hardware they will be required to run, so the assets for a PC games are made to suit many machine specs.

If your machine can handle it - you can natively render a game whatever top resolution your card and machine will run at a decent speed, so yes that is native resolution. Of course textures are not designed to give you a 1 to 1 pixel mapp at these sorts of resolutions, so you could argue your not getting the full bennift, but if you have a hot P...
