I mean, if you compare it to the community-driven, happy, fun-time commercials for the 360...which is what games SHOULD be all about...it really feels out of place. This reminds me of one of those wacked out Sci-Fi channel ads...it certainly doesn't make me want to buy a PS3.
What MS needs to do to combat this (not that it would take much), is produce more ads focusing on the far-superior games library. THAT is what sells consoles...not scary baby dolls.
They're from 2 completely different devs, so why make the comparison? It'd be like saying "I hope the gameplay in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance doesn't suck as badly as Superman 64".
...is if somebody f***ing kills his annoying ass. How's THAT for irony? :|
...and say this game is built on the Oblivion engine. ;)
Not that Epic has admitted/confirmed that....which has been rumored for MONTHS now. But still, how is that relevant to anything I said?
...simply doesn't have enough clout in this industry, for this to even be a story. It's laughable that anyone would give Oliver an interview, and bother printing this garbage.
When asked what he thinks of the Unreal engine, Oliver replied, "We're dead impressed by all the demos. But a demo is... A lot of it is very very nice graphics. I mean, all of the technical features when you go down... Our middleware does that, we just haven't got the flashy art demo because we're busy making games. They're not."
They're not busy making games, eh? Perhaps he's not heard of a little game called GEARS OF WAR. And perhaps he's not aware of UT 2007 eith...
...they meant "lame that it's not coming to the PS3". ;)
...do I recognize. But then again, I'm 35, and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Metallica. :|
...but I didn't even think there was a way to hook up a PS2 controller.
...if the water goes the opposite direction....wouldn't your poo spill out onto your shoes? :(
...it was supposed to be an early XBOX title.
But yeah, SEGA sucks for doing this...and continuing to ruin the Sonic franchise.
...a country consumed by crazy anime fanatics. They don't care about realistic graphics, unless it's in a CGI cutscene. Otherwise, they're happy to play games where the heros/heroines look like big-headed toddlers with Down's Syndrome. :|
...the song is "Mad World" by Gary Jules, and it was featured on the Donnie Darko soundtrack. ;)
And if you haven't seen Donnie Darko...you need your ass kicked between your ears. :|
If they don't enable the cheat, they need to be shot for even bothering with this rehash. PERIOD.
Basically the gist of this ad, is that HD-DVD has alot more content, and is flashier than DVD. Now, from a movie/multi-media perspective, that's fine....but it will leave millions of uninformed consumers wondering why they don't use it for games, if it's so much better.
My guess is, MS still has something in the works, in that department. I'd say that before the end of the 360 cycle, we'll see AT LEAST hybrid HD/DVD games that make us of the add-on. If you choose to buy the HD-DV...
...but he really doesn't know his gaming terminology very well. Like I said, the distinction between "in-engine" and "in-game" is whether or not it's from real-time gameplay, or a pre-rendered movie, using the same engine. It's obvious this isn't gameplay, and looks considerably more cinematic than any gameplay we've seen....but it's still in-engine.
...that indicates real-time gameplay footage, which this obviously is not. But still, like I said, it's a testament to the beauty of UE3.
...but with enhanced visuals over the gameplay, obviously. That's the thing about UE3...you don't have to pay a CGI film company to make your trailers (*cough*Killzone2*cough*), because the engine is so flexible, and easy to use.
...NOT for the games games/entertainment division. And no, the 360 likely won't be in the BLACK until late 2007 or early 2008...as stated by a MS official.
