...and borderline illegal. What someone does with their $$ is their own business. I think as long as there are morons out there willing to pay 2-3x over retail for something, rather than wait a few months for supply to catch up, a person should be able to take advantage of that stupidity and profit from it....if they want to. :|

The 1st and 2nd paragraphs are virtually IDENTICAL. Quality editing is a dying artform. :(

...it wasn't that they didn't "take gaming seriously". They simply didn't have the 3rd party support that was crucial to making the XBOX successful. But, by hanging in there last gen, and continuing to work on developing relationships with publishers and developers, and having several quality, successful franchises in XBOX exclusives, they proved they were in this for the long haul. Sony no longer has the clear advantage in the content department, that they've enjoyed with PS1 an...

...so the sequel better be an amazing improvement. The vehicle and character controls were horrible, and the physics and A.I. were last-gen. Graphically it looked decent, but the 360 looked weak, as an obvious PS2/XBOX port, just like Gun, Hitman:BM, Tomb Raider Legend, SC:DA, etc. We're starting the 3rd year of dev-time on the '360'...no more excuses for crappy looking games, and last-gen ports.

Although I'm surprised he didn't touch on the more OBVIOUS reason to be upset about Wii: THE PRICE. $250 is too much for a repackaged GC, with a new controller. I can buy a GC used for $50 now....$100 brand new. So, you're paying an extra $150 for a new control scheme, which may or MAY NOT be a gimick (that will depend on how well the launch titles are received and developers use of it).
The rumored $179-$199 made it seem much more like a good deal...especially for casual gamers ...

That would be PERFECT for this game! O_O

"Still no game for X360 has been confirmed as 1080p native (yep, Splinter Cell is only 1080i and that is probably just upscaled, as it is still stated as 720p at the official site), and more than eight are announced for PS3.

Doesn't that imply that, for now atleast, the PS3 has an easier time doing 1080p? "

No...it doesn't imply that AT ALL. It's simply about a different stategy. MS hasn't been the one pushing format's and tech that are still a in their ...

...but Insomniac already confirmed they had to sacrifice 1080p for the final game. Think of this as "what could have been". ;)

Besides, it's all irrelevant...the game still looks like BLACK with slightly better textures and lighting...SLIGHTLY. Gears of War owns this graphically, in a MAJOR way.

There's no proof that there's any REAL difference between "native" and "upscaled"....or that MS hasn't actually got something up their sleeve to prove everyone wrong anyway.
As you've indicated, it really is about the final product and public perception: "Is it live, or is it Memorex", you know? "Native", "upscaled", "true HD"...they're all just catchphrases and techie-terms. The only thing that really matters, is what ...

You won't find many PS2 fans, who weren't shocked/upset that GOW2 wasn't going to be a PS3 launch title...or at least come to PS3 in 2007. Sony has precious few solid third-party exclusives for the PS3, and that game would've sold millions of consoles for them.

It's the same design as the black "slim PS2". Sure, there are a few design similarities between PS2 and PS3, but certainly nothing that would cause the 2 to be confused. Hell, the PS3 is about 4x the SIZE of the new PS2.

Regardless, it's still just the same PoS2, with a lame silver paintjob. Anyone who spends $120 on this, rather than towards a Wii or 360, is a moron.

The Phantom looked a LOT like the PS3, in white. In fact, BOTH were heckled for looking like a George Forman grille. :D
