...I think we've MORE than covered this. :o
The do have the 64mb memory unit, which was reasonable priced. The lack of a standard HDD just hampers devs, in terms of caching for large levels and textures. Without the HDD, Morrowind COULD NOT have been done on the XBOX. Likewise, Oblivion makes extensive use of the HDD on the 360 ; Bethesda put word out early on, that if you planned on playing Oblivion on 360, you better plan on having the 20GB HDD.
If MS doesn't wake up and do the right thing, you can bet your ass m...
...the REAL issue is:
1.) How strong will sales be after the first month? Most people bought it not knowing how flawed the 360 version was. After word gets out, sales will drop off drastically.
2.) How many 360s were sold in Europe because of this game? THAT is the $64k question, because it's the ONLY reason MS wanted the exclusivity.
...that's fatally wounded. It's a crap game, that was delayed for 9 months for NO APPARENT REASON, because it still looks/plays like the same sh*tty game we all saw at E3 2005.
THQ/Volition should've made a next-gen Red Faction instead....one that didn't suck, like RF2.
1.) The PS3 version was CANCELLED....several months ago. This will be PC/360 ONLY (the PS2/PSP versions don't count).
2.) Why show a crappy quality trailer from YouTube, when a playable demo has been available through Marketplace for about a month now?
82.5 for R:FOM. :D
1.) Why is a dev kit still being used at such an event, when the hardware has been out for a year?
2.) Why was 80GB made available to devs to begin with, if it was never going to be used in the final SKU? PARTICULARLY when the devs were told the couldn't even COUNT on an HDD, because it wouldn't be standard.
The thing is, everyone knows MS has some deals cooking with other media, that will REQUIRE a bigger HDD. Couple that with the fact that there has been alot...
...but I still believe MS will restructure the 2 SKUs, to be directly competitive with the PS3. The lack of a standard HDD was the single biggest mistake MS made with the 360, and it's going to hurt them even more once the PS3 games start to improve. The 8GB HDD in the XBOX was it's "secret weapon" last gen, allowing devs to do things that simply weren't possible on the PS2. That MS decided to handicap the 360 like they did, is beyond stupid.
...but Perfect Dark Zero is a bad example to use.
1.) It was a very mediocre game, not worthy of the hype, or fit to follow the legacy of Perfect Dark.
2.) Since Rare is owned by MS, the dev costs are at a minimum, compared to 3rd party devs. It's sold enough already to be profitable.
Why are we discussing porn? :D
...when you've already struck out. :|
...if you take the difference between the 2 energy consumptions...which is in favor of the 360...you can add that to the overall cost of the PS3. :O For those claiming the 360 is more expensive because of the $50/year Live fee... there goes a good chunk of THAT argument. ;)
...yet I still have my doubts.
That being said, I really expect them to reconfigure the 2 SKU's, with a standard 20GB HDD for the "core", and a larger one for the "premium"...before they simply "drop the price".
The first one was so retarded, I lost interest halfway through, and returned it for credit. :O
O.K., I'm gonna explain something for those that maybe can't figure this out for themselves. If you're not required to pay a deposit, you haven't reserved ANYTHING. You've basically put your name on a list, stating you'd be interested in buying something in the future...which is only useful for unofficial polls, at best. If you think signing your name on a notepad, or having your name entered into a computer is going to guarantee you a "reservation"...I'm taking pre-orders for re...
Watchoo been smokin', Bub? :|
And yeah, although this is old news...already discussed here last week... I still agree with MS on this.
...and I wasn't impressed. Give me a sequel to Condemned, dammit! :{
Now if they'd just announce a wireless for the 360 version. :D
...MS has a monopoly in the PC OS market.
In fact, if all goes well with PS3/Yellow Dog Linux (though I have my doubts), I fully expect Sony to create a partnership with them for their VAIO line as well.
...you ignorant jackass. Too Human is the ONLY 360 exclusive game SK is working on. They are working with other platforms/consoles as well...as they ALWAYS have. MS isn't "paying" ANYBODY for such an objective comment. If he'd said "the 360 is far and away more powerful than the PS3", it would seem like a solicited response.
