...that comment was pure rhetoric. ;)
I don't have the patience for handheld gaming...too hard on the eyes and hands (I'm 35). That's why I bought my 55" HDTV, after all; I could no longer enjoy games on my old 27". :(
...the dates are always ahead of the calendar. All of your sports games are released months ahead...2007 games are out NOW. Your magazines are 1-2 months ahead, which means most info is AT LEAST that old, by the time you read it. These awards have always been done the same way.
And yes, G.O.W. will likely receive this award next year. ;)
...because the continue to rehash old tech. The DS is in fact a glorified GBA. The games still look like SNES titles, regardless of any "innovation" with the touch screen and stylus interaction. The cost of R&D on those key components was FAR les expensive than that of creating a completely new device, with next-gen graphics (at least late N64 quality). Sony took a similar approach with the PSP, by basically cramming the slim PS2, into an even smaller case, and going with ...
...that IS NOT the purpose of advertising. Advertising is used primarily for impressing upon consumers the need/desire to buy a product.
Creating buzz is necessary for creating interest in something new. But, with a high-profile name like Sony, and a high-profile product like PS3...you don't need to create buzz. What Sony DOES need to do, is appeal to the masses, and convince them they should buy a PS3, over the 360 and/or Wii. Simply put, this ad has ZERO CHANCE of doing that.
...talk about making enemies in all the wrong places. MS doesn't have too many more options left. :D
...but I honestly didn't see the part about it using UE3 (obviously, based on my initial comments :o ). And I didn't make the connection between Zombie and SO:Red Mercury either...I just thought you were making a random comparison within the genre.
Just ignore my comments...I'm heavily medicated this morning. :D
...they only need to create a software update for the 360, to emulate/implement DX10. I have no doubts that their next console will basically be a beefed-up Vista PC, with a next-gen custom CPU...but the 360 could blow the PS3 out of the water, with DX10 onboard.
...because MS and Sony have 2 completely different strategies. Sony will do like they have done with the PS2...try to keep the PS3 in circulation, long after it's been rendered obsolete and inferior by it's competitors, but is finally profitable.
MS will have a revised 360, with standard HDD, more memory, etc... or even a completely new console, before the PS3 is "dead".
I don't doubt that the PS3 will eventually catch up to...or even surpass...the 360 in sales. ...
...so I have no idea what the article says about these screens. But, I do see a pic of Peter Jackson, so this may actually be from Halo Wars, and not Halo 3. Either way, it doesn't look too bad, but it's really hard to tell with such poor quality pics. Hey jackass.....next time, turn off the flash!
For a console/PC to be "liquid-cooled", the ENTIRE SYSTEM needs to be cooled...not just one component. Sure, the 360 uses water-cooled technology, but (sadly) it wasn't used in a fully-integrated manner, like you see in these custom PCs... http://images.google.com...
...just clarifying with the facts. ;)
...at least not in a technical sense. The overall SYSTEM is fan-cooled...2 fans pulling the hot air out, and fresh air in through the tiny holes. The Tri-core CPU, however, does indeed have a small "radiator" attached, which keeps it cool separately. But, compared to the high-tech custom PC "liquid-cooled" setups, the 360 cannot be considered "water-cooled".
...Morrowind isn't BC with the 360. :|
Yeah, that pretty much covers it. :O
...was to take the door off a mini-fridge, and put my console inside. :D
...you're an idiot. In fact, your "2 cents" isn't even worth a penny.
...Bill Clinton is actually COOL. It's his b1tch wife that has a hard-on for slamming the gaming business with Thompson. They really should just get married...Bill would be MUCH better off without her. :|
1.) "innovativity" is a made up word...use "innovation" instead.
2.) The Xbox IS NOT a PS2 rip-off. In fact, it's technically superior in EVERY WAY, and had features out-of-the-box that the PS2 NEVER had.
3.) Saying "Xboy is a Gameboy rip-off" is beyond retarded. IT'S A FICTIONAL DEVICE, for crying out loud!
4.) The old "MS rips off everything from Apple" argument is so 1990's; Apple STILL can't compete with MS in th...
I've been using a small fan to promote air circulation/cooling for my consoles. I have a large entertainment center...and 3 cats...so I can't leave anything laying around. When I first got my 360, at launch, I decided to buy a 2nd fan, just for the power brick. Both are virtually silent, and stay on constantly (almost a year now). I've never had a problem with my 360, or the fans, and it only cost me $14 for the pair at Wal-Mart. :)

..no. DX9 won't be able to do more than DX10...which isn't "fixed", but more flexible than before....as the article states.
Trust me, if it's possible, MS will implement DX10 on the 360. Crysis ALONE would be enough reason to try, as that game would be a system-seller, on ANY console. Sure, MS gets it exclusively for PC/Games for Windows, but that game...exclusive to the 360...would be a HUGE coup for them.
