Take a look at that list, and tell me again it's just "old Capcom and Midway games".
Maybe you haven't played NFS:MW...or PGR3...or haven't seen FORZA 2...or maybe you've not played a 360 game AT ALL. This game, as #3 said, is nowhere NEAR next-gen quality; and demos don't make generational leaps in graphics and/or technology. NFS:MW was an XBOX/PoS2 port, but it had enough next-gen polish to make it a worthy launch title; However, I fully expected a 2nd generation 360 entry in the series to AT LEAST be on par with the first, IF NOT BETTER. Apparently, because this uses ...
Yeah...good luck with that. :o
...but after releasing that SH*TTY DEMO, EA's pretty much screwed themselves on this game. NFS:MW was 10x better.
...this game being conceived by 2 guys tripping on shrooms and/or acid. :|
...for making a comment about something you OBVIOUSLY know nothing about. If you don't even know what Mutant Storm Reloaded IS, you have no right/reason to question whether Sony ripped it off or not. And Blast Factor is a BLATANT ripoff of Geometry Wars.
And, BTW, XBLA is not "old Atari games". Again, STFU, if you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
They've already ripped off Geometry Wars and Mutant Storm Reloaded.
That was before the blu-ray diode production problems. They pretty much cut their original estimates in half, and delayed in Europe for 5 months.
Did we really need this reported TWICE? Geez.....it's only a few stories back, on the same page. :|
2.1 - Well
PS3 Ultimate - 1 Hour ago | Let him/her speak
"Its because it will sell way more on the PS3 thats why. Who would be stupid enough to make a game for just the 360? Its obvious they're not only aiming for the U.S. market. If they want big sales, always include the games on, The PLAYSTATION 3! "
You CAN'T be serious. What are you, a f***ing moron? By this time next year, when the game (supposedly) releases, the 360 will have an installed base of a...
What "end" are you talking about? 2 years...4 years....6 years down the road? As of right now, Rainbow Six: Vegas and COD3 are both said to look/play worse on the PS3. No facial mapping for PS3 RS:V either. No online for Tony Hawk 8 on PS3, and a few other titles are doubtful to have online either.
As for the game in question, FNR3, we've already established, in this forum, that the only differences are mildly perceivable, and strictly due to 9 months of extra dev time...
1.) SONY used the FNR3 demo as an exclusive part of their demonstration. Do you remember seeing anything at E3 2005 of a 360 version? No. Did MS or EA mention a 360 version at the time? No. Did Sony use the "tech demo" to showcase the "power of PS3"? You're damn right they did. It was the Assassin's Creed of E3 '05 (which is a Ubisoft title...someone ALSO not known for "exclusives")
2.) I'm saying EA had a short time in which to launch their 360...
Nobody gives a rat's ass about this game anymore.
After so many console jumps and delays, I don't know why they didn't just scrap it altogether.
And, it still looks like an early PS2 title. :|
1.) FNR3 was one of the first games shown off by Sony at E3 2005....AS A PS3 EXCLUSIVE. The 360 version came out of nowhere, and the demo was available about 3 months prior to release in March.
2.) Final dev kits are only used for polish, with launch titles....something that EA typically doesn't make much use of. If you look at all of their games, the first screens/gameplay you see, usually is identical to the finished product, from a technical standpoint. Why? They know tha...
it's also a 10 fold BIGGER investment, at the least. Ubi isn't some small dev team, with only a few titles under it's belt, and most of it's talent defected. Ubi is a mult-billion $$ developer AND PUBLISHER with a deep gaming history, and many money-making franchises in it's stable. EA attempted a hostile takeover, by acquiring a good chunk of the France-based operation's stock; if that had never happened, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
"We released two game demos. The first one highlights the new single-player experience showing Sam Fisher in an open daylight environment in the midst of a full-scale African civil war. The second demo released highlights the accessibility and great fun of our new Spy vs. Mercenary multi-player mode. These demos are available for the Xbox 360 on Xbox Live Marketplace or on PC via online distribution. "
We never got a SP demo, dammit!
It's "pwns", not "pwnes", you idiot.
...but still not apt to happen. Although, the SC5 exclusivity is a big + for MS in that department. And, GRAW, King Kong, Far Cry have all done very well on MS platforms for Ubi.
I was so pissed off by this.....what a waste of download time/space. Not being able to set up a match, it was impossible to tell if there were any improvements over SC3. I got sick of trying to play that game with my friends, because it disabled open chat, and kicked you back out to the MAIN MENU!!, after every session. Completely retarded.
They're the greedy bastards that own the rights to it, and will profit the most from it.
