They could change their name to Electronic Boutique..
I hope that you are equally disgusted by sony, amazon, and every mobile phone carrier. If a product has a camera or a microphone.. High level employees at that company have listened in on customers.
In other industries the cost of goods rise due to inflation. The price of games hasn't changed in 30+ years, yet the cost of game development has risen 30+ times over.
I don't care if Microsoft dominates, if fact, I prefer them in 2nd. It makes them work harder for my money. That said, I do prefer Xbox this gen over ps4 but that's just my personal preference in the games I play and the services I use. Definitely looking forward to the next xbox!
That's a valid point. I think they just want to keep focus at launch. Maybe they will come out with a streaming dongle the following year.
There isn't really, unless you prefer gaming on a console. Microsofts just wants you to subscribe to their services as that's where they make their money. And if you're a casual gamer soon you won't even need a pc or console and can just stream your games to any device via Wi-Fi. Personally, I'm looking forward to Scarlett and plan on getting at least 1 at launch.
They used to but they couldn't never really get it right and burned a bunch of cash in the process.
Not a developer, it was a talent acquisition role.
Even better than a PC, just buy a console.
Per the article it's because he was finished with Scarlett and welcomed a sweet promotion to head up security at Intel. $$$$$
5 years ago who would of thought that Nintendo would ever partner with ubisoft to make a Mario/Rabbids game. Nintendo has really opened themselves up for collaboration. I wouldn't be surprised to see them eventually doing skmething similar with Sony if it all pans out.
This is a win/win for both companies! Nintendo is introducing a whole new generation to the Banjo Character. Now, when MS drops the next Banjo game, switch players who favored Banjo in Smash, might be interested in giving it a shot.
@Inzo,
Next time you feel sorry for us, just remember, we don't feel sorry for us. I'm proud of what Xbox did this gen and am excited for next gen. I will easily buy 2 xbox consoles when they launch next year. Sony fans do come off a bit satly in these articles though. Like... this is E3, the whole point is for the press to conduct interviews yet you come in here like he's trying to pull one over on you. Be proud of what you like but no need to feel sorry for ...
Why would you go out and buy a gaming PC when you can purchase a 400-500 dollar box that does everything right out of the gate without having to mess with all that other stuff. I mean, you seem to like gaming on a PC which is great for you, but I just couldn't do it. I'd just lose interest after 10 minutes of fiddling with drivers and all that mumbo jumbo. If consoles went away, I would go mobile only before touching a PC but that's just me and millions of other gamers out there. ...
@Dirty,
I hear you. I have a PS4 but I haven't been able to get into any of Sony's first party single player games this gen. Doesn't mean they aren't good though. I'm more into Games as a service/couch co-op/2d platform.
I didn't watch it, saving it for the live briefing. Every year right before E3, I go searching the web for leaks and then get disappointed when I find them lol
It's good thing that never happened.
@afficianado,
Completely agree with you! If I want to play sony's single player games, I'll play them on PS4. I love how different the two companies are as they cater to almost two types of gamers.
Nobody has any faith in Ninja Theory now because they are are showing off technical alpha footage of a game they were were working on for a year before MS approached them. Would people have rather MS stepped in and cancelled the game and put them on something else? Can you imagine the backlash on that! Ninja Theory has a good track record so ... until they don't, i'm going to wait patiently so that Ninja Theory can make the game they wanted to make.
More of a modern gamer myself. I hate the clutter of the physical media. I prefer all of my stuff stored digitally so that i can access it anywhere. With 4 kids it's a convenience thing. I will say that gamepass has caused me to reduce my gamefly subscription from 4 to 1 disc a month. Subcription services are ideal For a lot of people but not for everyone. That's why they are just optional.
