Yes, that's one of the perks of buying digital. You don't get the case, the book or the disk but you have to pay the same price. That's the small trade off.
Ummm, your movie theater scenario happens all the time. Just talk to anyone that's ever worked at a theater. Theater chains have a policy in place where if you're not happy with the movie, you can walk to the ticket counter and get a free ticket to see another movie. You just can't finish the whole movie.
I see your point, but I disagree. Nothing to do with entitlement. It's customer service. Some companies do it better than others. Example: Bed Bath and beyond will take any product back even after it has been opened and used if you're not happy with it. Maybe the commercial oversold it, maybe the person who recommended it to you was an idiot. The fact that I know I can take it back if it's crap, is comforting and it makes me want to give them my business. Same with sending back f...
If a game is too difficult, I'll drop it and move on to something else pretty quick, otherwise I won't get to play anything else that year and miss out on a ton of fun games. There are exceptions though if the game really hooks me in like Ori, i'll stick with it to the end. With 4 kids, I have probably about 2-3 hours a week for gaming, if i'm lucky. I remember loving the challenge much more as a kid when I could spend 3-4 hours a day playing games. Life gets in the way though...
The point is to determine how much it would cost to build a PC that would equal the power of a PS4 Pro. Not everyone has an agenda to push. Some people just find this kind of stuff interesting.
"But in order to be eligible for a refund, PlayStation gamers have to follow some pretty strict guidelines. Not only can they not play the game, but they can’t download or stream it either".
So you can return the game and get a refund within 14 days but only if you don't play it? How are you supposed to know if you like the game? If you do qualify for a refund, you can only get PS store credit. I mean, that's not a deal breaker but the fact that you can...
All great points guys, makes sense. I think i get it now :) thanks!
I enjoy challenging games like Ori and Cuphead but i also don't see anything wrong with making a novice setting for new, younger players or disabled gamers. How would that ruin the experience for those that thrive on the challenge? Can someone explain, in a mature way please? Bloodborne looked like a lot of fun but i never picked it up because at the time, i had a new baby and didn't have much time to put into the game. I completely understand that it's the devs choice and it'...
@Rainslacker,
If stored properly in optimum conditions, DVD's have a shelf life of up to 50 years before they deteriorate. Disc based BC is not a long term solution either. Also, if you have kids, cut that 50 years in half.
and yet game prices have stayed the same for 30 years even though the cost of game development and cost of living has been multiplied many times over. I would much rather purchase optional DLC then have games cost 89.99
It's all about managing peoples expectations going in. It wasn't a bad show, it just wasn't what people were expecting. I'm sure they will take that feedback to heart and make the second one better. People are being a little harsh. Give them another shot.
I know that it's popular to hate on MS, but they have done a lot of good in this area as well. They have a dedicated backwards compatibility team that brings new games frequently throughout the year. They are also not charging you for it if you already own it, which is how it should be. On top of that, some of the games even look and play better now. I also don't see the difference between BC and emulation as long as it works. My only regret is not going digital sooner because then I&...
I feel like they will have it all worked out for the most part by the PS5 Launch. I'm hoping for 10-15 dollars a month but have it include all of their first party titles. That would be an incredible value for gamers and sell exceptionally well.
@opc,
Exactly. The average global internet speed was 7.2Mbps in Q1 of 2017 and it's been growing at a 20-25% rate each year. No reason to think the average won't be 10Mbps by 2020. And that's just the average. Goog's can cater towards the high end of that and make bank while the rest of the world improves their internet.
Nobody, including Microsoft or Google is saying that everyone in the world will be able to stream 4k. Everyone understands that certain regions are behind when it comes to internet speeds. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't try. People were saying the same thing when Xbox live first launched. There wouldn't be enough internet bandwidth for multiplayer. We got through that together, we can get through this together. :)
1080p and 720p are certainly not next gen so if that's what google is coming out with in 2019, it's a problem. As long as they still offer the 4k/30/60 for those with faster internet, you can't really fault them for trying to push the internet speed forward.
Of all the VR headsets I've tried, I prefer the comfort of the PSVR. Plus, it's the only one that doesn't give me VR hair.
Can't wait! This game is going to get my heart pounding.
Completely agree with you. Problem is, this new generation of gamers do not. Anyone with kids will tell you that Youtube streamers are celebrities to them. Don't underestimate the pull these streamers have with the kids. Kids will follow them all the way to stadia if it means they get to interact with their favorite YouTube personalities.
Nobody said anything about Marathoning a game and beating it in one day, only to return it. 1 or 2 hours would not hurt anyone. I would expect to do it for a digital game as a perk for having to pay the same price as a boxed copy. Those disks, cases, books all have costs, albeit small. Like 1-2 hours small..
