Looking forward to picking it up day one. I have a feeling the due to cost I won't be getting multiple boxes next gen.
The console architecture is so similar that porting is not as expensive as it used to be to the point of selling 75,000 copies of a game can be quite profitable. If a game sells 1 million units on xbox, thats close to 70 million dollars. Do 6 of those a year and it's a half a billion dollars. Helldivers 2 will be a good test. If it drops and sells only like 20-30,000 on xbox, then sony might decide it isn't worth it.
No. Early access can be fun because your feedback has potential to help shape the final product. It's also fun to jump back in after each update to see the new features and functionality. Not for everyone though, I get it.
Same for xbox. More people playing games is a win/win.
Because putting your game in more places is a smart play, as long as they are using the same architecture. Porting costs are minimal and even selling 500,000 copies can be profitable.
Please post a picture of your hand. I'm curious what a hand with that many fingers looks like.
Kornholic, you're saying that microsoft isn't paying the developers to put their games on gamepass? Developers are doing it for free? That's wild, I had no idea. I will go out and buy all games from now on. Thanks
I was hoping for improved visuals, but it still looks last gen. Looks fun though, hopefully it's more borderlands 2 and less borderlands 3.
Of course they will raise the price of gamepass eventually, nobody is blind to that fact. But that day isn't today, so let's discuss once it happens.
You can always pick up a used series s for the old back compat games
I remember spending my allowance on clay fighter 64, getting home and being so sad how shitty it was. Scarred me deep lol. Same with Bubsy 64. I'll continue to subscribe to gamepass until it goes above $30. I still buy games outside of gamepass, they just have to be games with good replay value.
Well, those other countries could always drop their tarrifs to zero, which would be reciprocal, but they won't do that because they like money.
@Kassanova, yes, that's why it's cheaper. I don't think anyone believes the subscription entitles you to the game after you end the subscription service.
$24.99 by the end of the year is my prediction. If it ever were to hit 39.99 a month, the value would be lost.
Gamepass is looking better every day. $80 For 1st party games is wild.
Zero chance I'd ever buy an Indiana Jones game for 80 bucks though. Would much rather put that towards something like assassin's creed shadows. I did quite enjoy Indiana Jones on gamepass though.
I think 60 million is realistic in the next couple of years. I guess we will see how the "this is an xbox" initiative goes with cloud and smart TVs. That's the only way they will be able to further expand gamepass numbers. XCloud needs to get out of beta first. More servers needed to mitigate wait times and continue to reduce latency.
If I'm supporting the game and studio by paying for it via gamepass, I'm not also going to buy the game on top of that unless it is about to leave the service and I want to finish it. That would be like subscribing to Netflix while going out and buying Stranger Things box set on bluray.
Never played the first one so it'll be a new experience for me.
Omg, you're still trolling xbox articles!? I remember seeing you in just about every Avowed post.
