How would this hurt MS going forward? That doesn't even make sense. If anything, it will help MS. It's also a pro consumer move. It's crazy watching people try to spin this into a negative thing.
Xbox and Nintendo are buddy buddy right now plus they are going after different markets. MS is in competition with Stadia and Playstation before Nintendo.
Speaking as a Dad with 4 kids, I barely have time to complete a mission let alone a campaign.
It's not being shoved down anyones throat, It's an option. Just like PSnow. You can't really fault MS for Marketing more than Sony. Or maybe you can..
Only some of the games can be downloaded from PSnow, not all.
MS will never outsell PS worldwide. There was a recent article about how MS localization process is a mess and doesn't appear to be getting any better. They only seem to want to focus on the big markets.
I mean, if MS really wanted to eat Sony's lunch, they could launch lockheart at $249.99 and the series x at $399.99. Don't see that happening but damn.. That with 3 months of gamepass ultimate thrown in and you have a price that's very hard to resist for the casual market. We know that the games are coming, we've already seen some of the fruits from the studio acquisitions. Now that all the big 3 have some great looking games on the horizon, I think it's really going to co...
It's not all about the power though. The majority of the casual games will gravitate towards the cheaper system. If the specs that we're hearing are true, that puts ps5 at $399 and the series x at $499. That's a MASSIVE advantage for Sony. The only hiccup could be if lockheart is real, priced at $299 and available same day as the series X.
I wonder how many of them were memes lol. There are some pretty good ones already.
Waaay to early to put Guerrilla games in that category. Horizon is only 1 game. I'm confident they will get there though.
As an Xbox fan, i'm good with that. I don't care who is number 1, I only care that they're trying.
Like with Netflix, It's going to take more than 3 years to find its true stride. I would think Gamepass would be firing on all cylinders by 2021. By then, the fruits of the studio acquisitions will be much more apparent.
That's exactly what Microsoft wants. If you have a gaming PC, they would rather you sign up with Gamepass Ultimate instead of buying a console. If you don't have a gaming PC or a 4k TV, you can go for the Series S ( Lockheart). If you have a 4k tv, go with the Series X. Plenty of options if you're an Xbox/PC gamer.
Agreed! A 2nd place Microsoft is my favorite kind of Microsoft. Make em' work for it.
Nope, not even a little. Unless it's a massive difference which it doesn't appear that it is.
With the way this one is designed, you might shave 5 inches in height. I would also assume double the hard drive space. MS won't just shave $10. More likely $50-100. It sounds like a good idea for me as we'll have the series x in the family room and the series s for the bedroom.
He's probably the best exec Xbox has ever had with Peter Moore right behind him. If he left Xbox today, as the head of xbox he would be most remembered for Unbundling Kinect, Xbox Play Anywhere, Backwards Compatibility team, Xbox one redesign, Xbox One X, the studio acquisitions and Game Pass. I mean, those are some pretty cool accomplishments in the 5 or so years he's been the head of xbox.
This is actually pretty crazy when you think about it. 45 million viewers watched the game awards!!! To put this in some perspective, MS had the most watched press conference of 2019 at E3 with 1.5 million viewers.
I love it. It's simple and straight to the point. in 2020 the next generation of xbox will launch with two models, with a slim to surely follow:
Series D - All Digital
Series X - Highest end Xbox
Series S - 2/3 years the S could be the Slim Model.
Then.... In 2027 (or whenever) the next gen xboxes will hit and you'll just repeat:
(The New) Series D - All Digital
(The New) Series X - Highest end Xbox
...
Next gen for MS isn't about selling consoles, it's about selling Gamepass subscriptions. If you can get customers to pick up a cheaper console, you have a better chance of getting them to try out gamepass. Consoles are simply a vessel for gamepass at the moment until xcloud becomes established.
